Bloodystar's heart skipped a beat as he watched his own Warriors part and let the most wicked cat that even lived, at least in his eyes, walk right up to him at the top of Ceremony Springs. Even before she had finished talking, the red-furred High Priest lashed out at her, aiming for the older she-cat's ribs where he knew she would be most sensitive.
"I have lost my way!?" He yowled, celadon eyes blazing in a way that very much contradicted the idea that this tom was a 'darkened pit,' "That's cheap, coming from you, the very cat who put her claws to the throat of a God that had only ever loved and supported us throughout the ages! If you weren't guilty of it then you wouldn't have run. You know it was wrong and today you will finally pay for it!" racer

Just as Paintedcanyon would have turned to alert others of the existence of the tunnel, a faint moaning could be heard from deep within it. The words of whoever was there was lost in the chaos but clearly someone was in trouble. Nova
More urgent than before, Darkpaw nudged Blindfaith's shoulder, "Blindfaith" he repeated, his voice louder and more stern as she seemed to be ignoring him all together in favor of Perectstorm. Taking advantage of the Perfectstorm's lapse of attention in favor of looking towards the she-cat that had appeared, he forced himself in between the pair letting his fur brush up against Blindfaiths so that she couldn't continue to ignore him "Now!" there wasn't time to waste if they were to get off of this island before it was to late. Being away from Soaringpaw made him uneasy, and every moment that he was away the more anxious he was becoming "Family needs you" he pleaded, looking over to Perfectstorm with a glare daring him to interfear but not attacking for the simple fact that it was clear Blindfaith cared about the cat before them FaithJadie -------------------------> Tinymutiny sat unmoving as a stone in the river, the crowd around her swirled and moved around her. Why hadn't she tied the knot with Oakshade when she had the chance? They had been mates yet, but maybe if they had officially completed the tying of the knot ceremony she would be able to be reunited with him. The safety of knowing that even in death they would be bound together, able to find one another. Tears fell down her cheek one by one, so absorbed in her own thoughts that even as the world seemed to explode around them she was lost deep within her own mind. JadieCleaver -----------------------> Ferventprayer nodded, her fur brushing up against her mate's as they made their way up the top ceremony springs. She knew he didn't understand, couldn't understand, but the fact that despite all of that he still altered his course for her meant more than he would know. Even as angry as he was, she could see the through the raging storm of his emotions to see the love that lied underneath. She pressed her muzzle to his for a brief moment "Thank you" before pulling away and picking up the pace Jetclaw
Skipstep snarled, pelt bushing out as he slapped the strike away glaring at him. "You have gone mad. The Sun God faltered, and had been proven to be guilty of many crimes. An infallible benevolent God would not have such damning evidence from his own former soothsayer presented against him."
Skipstep's ears flattened. "You're going to pay for what you did. To the clan, to Jetfire, and to all of my children that you stole out from under me." He snarled lashing out again to force Bloodystar back, planting himself at Littlestar's side, Bloodystar wouldn't get any low blows with him at his beloved wife's side. racerHoneystormJadie

Littlecrow stayed calm, even as the blows from the High Priest began to rain down before being smacked away by her mate that was nearly plastered to her side "and I would do so again, I would do it a thousand times over. Do you know why?" there was a coldness in her voice, if he was fire she was ice. Maintaining an air of dignity and grace, even with her haphazard appearance "because there are things far more important to me than my life or reputation. I did what had to be done for the sake of SunClan. I sacrificed everything that I was, my future, so that you and SunClan could continue to shine bright" her voice
"I left SunClan to you, I put my trust in you to continue guiding them on the right path after I was gone. There within was my mistake" there was disappointment in her gaze, suddenly she leaped forward claws unsheathed ready tear into him

Paintedcanyon’s functional ear twitched as he heard the faint sound coming from the tunnel. Mustering up as much strength as he could, the long-furred tom struggled to lift his head up to peer down the tunnel. It was dark, but he could see the faint silhouette of someone trapped in there. With a soft groan the tom rolled back onto his side. No, he would not lay down and allow himself to be dragged into unconsciousness. Paintedcanyon pulled himself forward, reaching into the tunnel until he could brush his paw against the body he had seen. The ginger tom stretched forward a bit more until he was able to wrap his paws around them. Grinding his teeth, Paintedcanyon started slowly pulling the apprentice out of the tunnel.
“Pixiepaw...” he coughed, carefully running his paws over her to see if she was hurt. “What.. what happened?” Jadie
Duskslayer turned to look at Littlestar, who everyone seemed to call Littlecrow now, while he preferred to call her Little at the very least. He looked between her and Bloodystar, maybe this was the predictable story ending he always hoped wouldn't happen. The one where Bloody, through years of being brainwashed, humiliated, hurt, and psychologically destroyed by people he should have trusted, like Littlestar would in turn meet his demise at her paws. Bloodystar wasn't a victim anymore, but Littlestar shouldn't be perceived as a hero after this either, even though that's how history would tell her story.
He wanted to be Bloodystar's hero, get him out, save him from himself, but it wasn't going to happen, Bloodystar didn't want to be saved. So what else was there left to do?
"Bloody," Duskslayer said, his paw turning his friends head to look at him, "Listen to me. You're my best friend, I'm not ashamed to call you my brother, never will be. I love you more then you'll ever know," He stared into his friends eyes for a long time. "This isn't fair, there's so much left to say I-I don't have enough time," He wiped the side of his eye free from tears as he tried to find the words he wanted to say, "You had so many beautiful flaws about yourself, I'm sorry all you ever learned was to hate them until hate was all you became. Who you were, was always perfect to me, Bloody."
Truth was, Littlecrow had every possibility of losing, so did Bloodystar. But looking at Bloody, he realized he had lost his friend no matter the outcome, it was time to say good-bye to the Bloodyrondo he knew.
Blindfaith's ears perked up, Littlestar! She could recognize her voice alone without any sight. Now though Perfectstorm seemed distracted by... Something? Blindfaith waved a paw in front of Perfectstorm's face, "Hello?" She asked, having no clue that Littlestar was the reason he had stopped. When she felt her brother brush up against her she looked up in his direction startled, "What?" She asked at first before understanding when he said family. She didn't want to be rude, but she really hoped that someday her brother would learn to talk in full sentences. It embarrassed her when he would speak sternly to her, as though she's the weird one for not reacting fast enough even though he was the one using barely any words.
"Oh sure, I'll try and follow," Blindfaith agreed, trying to keep up with Darkpaw
Carnagepanic scurried to help hold her up, his heart sinking. They needed to move quickly if they wanted to escape, but he could barely run while supporting her, much less while looking after another cat. They didn't even know where her mother was; what if she was already safe, and staying here put them in more danger? "I-I don't know," he stammered, unable to meet her eyes. He didn't want to die young. But... he didn't want to hurt her, either. If he left her, she would go after her mother, and they'd both die.
He swallowed hard. "Okay. Okay, let's find her." Carnagepanic led her hesitantly into the throng of cats, looking around for Tinymutiny. He couldn't remember what she looked like, but surely her daughter would notice.
"I mean it thought!" Tenebrousrequiem said under his breath, pelt bristling. "He either comes with us or we leave, we are not fighting those cats." He reiterated as he chased after Ferventprayer ready to grab her in case she decided she'd rather jump into the fray rather than tell Bloody he was a mousebrain.
The sky was filling with dense black spoke, ashes and embers were raining down on them, cats were screaming in pain and terror or both, it was absolute chaos yet still a half dozen cats had made it to Bloodystar, all with something to say and different ways of saying it. He pushed away from Littlecrow as Skipstep nearly swept him off his feet, putting a few tail-lengths of distance between him and the growing number of cats, his eyes shifting wildly from cat to cat. He was not sure exactly where to place his focus.
"Were you on Littlecrow's side all along, Dusky?"
This whole interaction felt like some kind of intervention, especially since so many cats got close to him without even a little bit of trouble. Naturally this lead his paranoid mind to assume that Duskyslayer was somehow responsible for all of this. After all, there was no way that he himself had made a mistake. So, the true meaning of Duskslayer's words were lost on Bloodystar, he'd hardly heard them but that fact likely would surprise no one. He'd never been a good listener.
"You thought that bringing her here like this would somehow help me? That the Sun God was really a monster and I was wrong?" In the past heartbreak like this would surely have crushed Bloodystar, but as it stood he was numb to it. If he had faced the facts sooner surely there were signs. Duskslayer was always what seemed now as conveniently absent when Bloodystar often needed him most and now he stood before him in line with his greatest enemies.
He took another step back, confidence faltering some. Every instinct told Bloodystar that he needed to run. He as still a cat, after all, and the volcanic eruption was terrifying him just as much as everyone else, but the difference was that he had unshakable faith in the Sun God. Bloodystar believed with all of his heart that he represented his deity's will and remembering that brought him a cold calm. His breathing slowed down, his fur flattened some. He could tell that the Sun God was closer than ever.
When he returned his gaze to the assembled cats, they rested solely on Littlecrow. Cut off the head, kill the snake. With a fierce yowl, he charged toward her and, instead of using claws or fangs, he head-butted her as hard as he could right where he'd carved to moon in her head. His goal was to daze her long enough to knock her off her feet and do as the spirit had told him... FaithracerJetclaw

Discordantmelody was giddy as she watched the confrontation of Bloodystar vs the world. She actually felt bad for her big brother especially since she'd done her fair share of misleading and manipulating him. His decisions were his own, though, and he was going to have to live... and die... with them.
Still, she'd do what she could to help.
Seemingly coming out of nowhere, the dark furred calico she-cat lunged at the cat closest Littlestar that wasn't the former High Priestess herself, Skipstep, "Hey, hey, hey, let the kids duke it out on their own!"
Perfectstorm growled when he felt Darkpaw at his side mostly because he wasn't expecting the apprentice. Recognizing who it was, though, he did calm down some, but that feral, do-something-wrong-and-I'll-kill-you expression never left his face.
He didn't say anything, but he did follow the two of them. He'd lost the invaders in the crowd so for now he decided the best thing he could do was protect Blindfaith who he was convinced could not take care of herself due to her blindness. Faithracer

Valleyrose coughed again and felt her vision began to blur. Thinking on her feet, she pulled another petal out of the flower by her ear and almost instantly it bloomed into a small white daisy. She waste no time shoving it into her mouth and gulping it down. The flower was a main ingredient in traveling herbs and had a bitter taste; she hoped that would help keep up her strength as they figured out a way to get out of here.
"Thank you, Carnagepanic..." She said, lifting her head up and scanning the crowd. Tinymutiny was small cat, smaller even than Valleyrose herself, and it would be like a needle in a haystack to find her, "Last I saw her she was near the water's edge. We should go check there." Cleaverracer

I haven't forgot you Nova but I gotta go to work xD Will add a reply to Painted next!
Valleyrose casually eating a flower from her ear was the last thing he expected to see, and despite all of the chaos surrounding him, it was perhaps the most confusing aspect of this day. There was no time to process it, though, so he just nodded a little and headed for the water. "Tinymutiny," he called, ears back as he skimmed their surroundings for the tiny she-cat. "Is that her over there?"
Valleyrose followed Carnagepanic's line of sight and rested her amber eyes on Tinymutiny's silver pelt. How in the world he had managed to pick her out of the crowd was beyond her understanding, but there was not really any time to dwell on it.
"Let's hurry before she gets herself into more trouble," She said, stumbling for only a second before regaining her footing and pushing her way through the crowd to reach her mother. Upon getting to her side she pushed her shoulder against hers, "Mom, mom we have got to get moving before the bridge breaks!"Cleaverracer

Pixiepawhad seemed almost dead when Paintedcanyon first approached her but, as soon as he brushed his paw against her arm, she began screaming again at the top of he lungs, "IT'S SO HOT DOWN THER! MY PAWS... LOOK AT MY PAWS!"
The burst of energy was gone just as suddenly as it had arrived and she laid her head down on the ground again, "I... just barely got out... any further and... you'll die."
She twisted her paw upward revealing that her pads had not only been burned, but totally singed off. The wounds were not bleeding much but one could clearly see bone and tissue jutting out form places that had once been protected by thick callouses. Pixiepaw was not walking away from this.... In fact, she may never walk again. Nova

Littlecrow was ready for his attack, but instead of dodging she took it head on their heads meeting with a loud thud. With her smaller size, she knew he would be expected her to try and avoid the attack. It sent her head swimming into a daze, but after the moons of suffering at the paws of others she knew her pain tolerance would be much higher. Recovering quickly, she used Bloodystar's disorientation against him surging forward and darting under undeath the larger cat's chest and lunging upwards to attack his unprotected underbelly with her teeth, claws slashing out at his hind feet to unbalance him. Bloodystar had size and strength on his side, but she had agility and experience. Jadie --------------> Darkpaw led Blindfaith and Perfectstorm through the crowd. Carefully picking their path through the panicked cats to try and avoid being seperated by the fleeding cats or stopped by those that wanted to keep them there. Finally they found where he had left Bravepaw and Soaringpaw. Darkpaw returned to his sister's side, pressing his nose to her cheek to look down upon where Nocturnepaw was trying to move their siblings "Tunnel?" he questioned blindfaith, "way out?" He knew a head-butt attack would daze both of them momentarily but, since Bloodystar had anticipated it, he'd believed he could recover quickly and land a real attack while Littlecrow saw stars. Unfortunately for the young High Priest, his opponent had been through a lot since he'd last fast off with her, giving her a much higher pain tolerance on top of her already superior agility.
"Fox-dung!" He cursed as Littlecrow moved away. He tried to strike her but pitifully missed, slamming his paws to the sandstone. By the time he had reoriented himself, he felt the former High Priestess's back against his chest and then a biting pain on his stomach and hind legs. He howled again but this time his words were not discernible as, at first, all his instincts told him make a distraction then back away... however, he stopped when he remembered the directions of his guiding spirit. Now was as good a time as any to put those plans into action.
Bloodystar dropped, which immediately caused him to roll onto his side. A dangerous move in combat but it would make his next one much easier: He pulled back is hind legs then kicked at Littlecrow's flank, his goal being to dig his hind claws - one of which was laced with poison - into the other cat's bloodstream.
He grinned as he felt his those very claws get warm and damp with her blood. racer
There was only one thing on Littlecrow's mind, this had to end. Taking advantage of him dropping to the ground, she went straight for his throat fangs bared and claws digging into his chest to help her momentum. She felt his claws ripping into the exposed area of her underbelly though it didn't slow her progress. The two cats wrestled in a flurry of claws and teeth, both cats trying to best the other leaving smears of crimson in their wake amongst the newly fallen layer of ash upon the grass that now clung to their pelts. One moment it looked like like littlecrow was winning, and the next Bloodystar. Their snarls and growls, and screeches of pain reaching the ears of all the cats that were engaged in their own battles near by.
Then everything was still, as the pair came to a stop. Bloodystar's throat now held in Littlecrow's jaws, her claws imbedded into his chest ready to plunge into his heart
Bloodystar had relaxed after the poison had been administered. Who wouldn't have? Foxbane's use of the stuff was legendary, it could drop even the fiercest opponent in seconds if done right. However, Littlecrow's strength didn't seem to fade in the slightest and for a moment the High Priest was dumbfounded. Did it not work?! Did he mess up, did she have a tolerance, or...?
She didn't give him much time to think about it as she went back to score deep groves into his stomach. The larger red-furred tom howled in pain and tried to get to his feet only to slip in his own blood but, when he fell, he directed all of his weight toward Littlecrow and a brutal fight continued for some time. At moments Bloodystar came out on top, other times it was Littlecrow, but the only cat who seemed to be faltering was he himself and not her, proof that the poison really was not going to work.
The spirit guide had lied to him, but he still had the amulet... except, when he tried to draw its power, all he gave Littlecrow was another opening. Pinned to the ground he flailed about looking for the key to his success only to see that during the tussle it had broken away from his neck. His eyes widened then narrowed back onto Littlecrow and he tried to shove her away, but it was too late, he'd bared his neck and she'd taken full advantage of the opportunity.
"Release me!" He growled, but he stopped struggling, even an idiot like him knew that that wasn't going to get him anywhere. He hadn't quite admitted that he'd lost though, not yet, the Sun God would always provide him a way out of any scenario, he really believed that, "Let me know and I'll promise you a painless death. It's more than you deserve." racer

Littlecrow held tight in her position as Bloodystar struggled below. She could felt the soft flesh of his throat between her teeth, the pulsing blood around her claws. Bloodystar wouldn’t be the first cat she had killed, so why did she feel her paw trembling? Bloodystar had scared and humiliated her, tortured her family, and led the clan she had left in his care to ruin. All the sacrifices she had made to bring peace and a better future for SunClan now meaningless. How long had she imagined this moment? When revenge for everything that he had done would be hers.
It wouldn’t be hard. All she had to do was clamp her jaws shut or twist her claws and it would all be over. So why couldn’t she do it? She gazed into his eyes, but it wasn’t Bloodystar that she saw but the kit he had once been. So excited to learn and full of life. How had he turned out this way? She already knew the answer to that question as hard as it was to swallow. It was her, at least in part. How had she not seen the signs? Why hadn’t she stopped it before it had gotten to this point. Even though she didn’t budge, her gaze began to soften. The anger that burned within her golden gaze dying into smoldering embers. She couldn’t allow him to continue as High Priest, but neither could she bring herself to kill him.
It was only then that she noticed something odd, the pattern that was painted onto his pelt catching her eye. Spiraling downwards, ending on one of his back paws. The recognition of the pattern hitting her just as harshly as if she had been slapped “Where did you learn that pattern” a deep growl rumbling in her throat, flash backs to the terrible ritual she had been forced into coming back all at once
Bloodystar didn't know why he answered honestly, in fact he cursed himself immediately for doing so. He didn't owe a murderer like Littlecrow any explanation. As soon as she got blood on her paws she lost the right to even be worthy of conversation. However, even though he couldn't see her face, he noted a shift in her body language and tone of voice... almost like pity flavored with fear. The scariest part of it was how it made Bloodystar feel...
... Guilty ...
Guilty for all of the pain he'd put Littlecrow though, for losing control of SunClan and costing numerous lives, for all the atrocities that he claimed were guided by the Sun God but he didn't know for sure, not really. Littlecrow would have felt his body tense, seen the panic in his expression, noticed his tail curled around her leg like she was an anchor and he was lost at sea. But it only lasted a second before he began to squirm again, hissing and growling and spitting, doing everything he could to break free because even if it cost him his life he'd die fighting for his cause because that was the only truth he had left.
"The Sun God knows my soul is pure. Send me to him now or send me to him later, I will be welcomed with open arms. But you... I really do fear the day you have to answer to him. He has no tolerance for shadow walkers, much less traitors. And that day come sooner than you think!"
So that... thing was here. She was already to late. The images of SunClan falling to ruin around her, her family all dead or slain flashing through her mind as she stared down at Bloodystar. The anger there was gone, replaced with a concoction of conflicting emotions. She held his life in her paws, and yet she couldn't bring herself to do it. She couldn't bring herself to kill him.
Soon Bloodystar would feel something warm fall upon his cheek, washing away the ashes and paint as it slid down towards the sandstone. Then another and another, as the claws that had dug so deeply into his chest began to retract. until it was only the pressure of her paws on his chest. His throat falling from her jaws, as she allowed his head to fall back against the sandstone "I will have to answer for my crimes same as you in the end" her voice was soft, seeing the fear written all over his face as he realized that she was about to kill him "Everything I have done was for my clan or family, but I only have one regret" for the first time, Littlecrow faltered. Her voice quivering as she spoke the tom would be able to feel her shaking, though she didn't let him up

Ferventprayer froze in horror as they neared the top of the hill, her father laying pinned in a pool of blood with the gray she-cat's jaws around his neck. A piercing scream left her lips, eyes widened in horror. She burst into a run trying to get to him through the crowd "DAD NO" tears were streaming down her face every hair on her long pelt standing on end, forgetting that she was supposed to be sticking close to her mate. In the background there was a loud crack, followed by a splash as the bridge broke, falling into the depths of the water as the pieces were sweapt down stream. Jadie@jetclaw
