Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Typically clear and blue this time of year, today it had an ashen tone, drowning out the vibrant reds and oranges of the sandstone to a more beige hue. It was ominous, but not uncommon. The longer the Sun God was vacant, the more color seemed to drain from the land.
That being said, Bloodystar had done his best to bring life back to the Ceremony Springs. With the help of Valleyrose's element, the grass was full and bright green. Flowers spilled all along the pathways and decorated the entire hillside. Much of these decorations were the same from the Mate Choosing Ceremony that had taken place the day prior, but plenty had been added, too. It had never looked so full of life and beauty, but something was still... off. Much like the sand, the brilliant array of flowers seemed dulled by the gray sky, almost like they were holding their breath along with the cats gathered at the base of the hill.
"I'm sure many of you are curious as to why we are all gathered here today," Bloodystar called out, his voice carrying clearly to all. The High Priest was painted absolutely spectacularly. Today his pelt was nearly every color of the rainbow and accented with reflective green beetle wings. The colorful swirls blended together like rose petals in a asymmetrical design the started at his front right foot and spiraled all the way down to his left hind leg, where the paint was most heavily applied, "I have received an omen that soon the Sun God will return to us. But to do this requires a demonstration of great devotion to not only him, but one another."
Bloodystar paused when excited - or perhaps unsettled - murmurs arose from the crowd. He let it go for a few moments before waiving his tail for silence.
"I have decided there is no better way to do this than through a group ceremony of love. Today all couples that came together during the Mate Choosing Ceremony will become one through the Tying of the Knot Ceremony!"
~*~
Tying of the Knot ceremony: This ceremony is very rarely performed in SunClan due to the implications it has in the afterlife. While technically a marriage, it binds two souls together forever, making each cat incapable of ever choosing another mate even in the event of one's death. It's perceived as the ultimate show of love & devotion to each other and the Sun God, but it's not something couples are expected to do in SunClan due to its eternal implications. It's always been a choice that very few take, so much so that the tradition was actually forgotten for generations until Littlestar & Skipstep brought it back as a show of absolute love and devotion to one another. For more details, review the "Rituals" tab on the SunClan page!
TLDR: Bloody allowed cats to be forced to be mates in the Mate Choosing Ceremony. Now he's binding their immortal souls together forever, also against their will. DISCLAIMER: Anything mate related that happens will not be permanent, so PLEASE throw your cats right into this knowing you have a get out of jail free card at the end!

Brightdawn had come to the ceremony springs, all SunClan warriors with few exceptions had been required to attend. This was meant to be the ending of the romance festival, which last year was simply a feast and a celebration of all the couples that had been formed over the past moon. She had come decorated in brightly colored warm paints, that swirled across her black and white fur delicately. During the mate choosing ceremony she and Tawneyowl had officially become mates, but tying the knot was something else entirely. Their relationship was still brand new, and she wasn't sure that she was ready to bind her soul together with his even though she clearly liked him a lot She leaned in the warm breathe tickling the fur on his ear "I wonder if we can manage to sneak out of here unnoticed, I don't think I am ready for this yet" Flurryofstars ---------------------------> Carrottop leaned into Dapplebreeze, their pelts brushing against one another as they listened to the announcement. He had spent the entire romance festival trying to sweep her off of her feet, and she had even surprised him saying that she wanted to proceed with starting a family. The idea of tying the knot with someone wasn't something to take lightly though, but the thought didn't scare him the way it probably would several of the other new couples. He had known that she was the one since he was barely and apprentice, and his feelings on the matter had never faltered. She was the love of his life. However, this wasn't something that he was going to force her to do and if she disagreed than he would fight for her right to choose when and if the got married to the death "How do you feel about that?" he asked quietly, searching her face for answers. cookie ---------------------------> Ferventprayer sat towards the back of the crowd with Tenebrousrequiem. She had been doing her best to avoid her father since the mate choosing ceremony, seeing the anger that burned in his gaze every time he saw her with her new mate. Her heart ached knowing how unhappy she had made him, but it would have hurt far worse had she let Tenebrousrequiem go to chase after Bravepaw who didn't care for her or any girl for that matter. The thought of tying the knot scared her a little, but this was also an opportunity. If they went through with this, then even Bloodystar wouldn't be able to argue with the fact that they were together. He would have to accept her decision "Lets do it" the words come bursting out before she had time to truly stop and think about the consequences She just wanted to be with Tenebrousrquiem and have her father stop being so angry "I know it's crazy, but we won't get an opportunity like this again" she gazed up into his eyes Jetclaw
Soaringpaw felt as if she had just been submersed in ice. She glanced over at Darkpaw then up the Bloodystar and back again before finally opening her mouth and breathing out the question on everyone's minds, "Seriously?"
She wasn't sure how he'd managed it, but that weakly Balancescale had managed to secure her as his so-called mate. Soaringpaw for the most part had done her best to ignore him and let that flame fizzle out naturally on its own, but now it was all too apparent that she wouldn't have that luxury. Her blood began to boil as next she searched the crowd for her father, Duskslayer. Up until now she did her best not to hold him too accountable for Bloodystar's horrible decisions, but this was different. It was too far.
"We need to find Blindfaith and Bravepaw then get to Duskslayer. He won't let this happen. Do you see him anywhere?" racerFaithHoneystorm

Darkpaw was at his sister's side as the announcement was made, a deep growl rumbled in his throat. While the only cat he had touched noses with was Soaringpaw(on accident), Bloodystar had another thing coming if he thought his sister was going to be bound together forever with Blancedscale. His long black fur bristled outwards, piercing blue eyes on Bloodystar until his sister broke off his glare. She was right, they needed to find their siblings in the crowd and quickly leave or find their father to keep this from happening. Even if he had tried to stop them from running in the first place, surely he wouldn't allow one of his kids to be forced into such a major decision. In moments he was able to spot Duskslayer sitting as he nudged Soaringpaw towards their directions. He had already failed her twice now, it was not going to happen a third time. He would kill Bloodystar himself before he allowed this to happen, even if it cost him his own life he would protect her. JadieHoneystormFaith
For the first time since the festival began, Carnagepanic was relieved not to have a mate. He had failed miserably this year but at least now he wouldn’t have a fourth cat bound to his soul.
"You know, I was going to chase you down before Bloodystar said that bit about having to be mates. I didn't think that was fair to you," Valleyrose murmured to Carnagepanic. The red-and-brown torbie looked positively exhausted. Lately Bloodystar had been abusing her element more and more and, while it didn't take too much out of her to use it, it did take time... which meant a lot of sleepless nights. Cleaver

Perfectstorm hadn't known Bloodystar's intentions and, for perhaps the first time in his life, felt some doubt toward his adoptive father. He knew full well what this Ceremony entailed and Blindfaith was practically a stranger to him. Could he commit to eternity to someone he hardly knew just because the High Priest told him to?
The answer was... yes.
The massive gray tabby tom surveyed the crowd for Blindfaith with a lump in his throat and sent a prayer up to the Sun God that the two of them really would be able to find true love. Faith

Balancedscale was hovering nearby to Soaringpaw, looking absolutely miserable, to be perfectly honest. He fidgeted with his tail, giving the she-cat not-so-subtle glances at the she-cat. And when she talked about finding Duskslayer, the tom looked terrified, and in a moment of panic, literally grabbed Soaringpaw in a dramatic bear hug at the chest, in a feeble attempt to keep her from leaving. "You can't go anywhere!" He insisted nervously, eyes so wide you could barely see the color at the edges. The tom was less in love with Soaringpaw... more it was absolutely clear he was so scared of his father he'd risk whatever Darkpaw and Soaringpaw could do to him to keep her from running. racerJadie
Bravepaw was fairly relieved at having dodged the bullet of getting married to Ferventprayer, though his heart sank as he realized Blindfaith and Soaringpaw weren't so lucky. He brushed his paw against the sunstone necklace Nocturnepaw had given him on one of their dates, taking a deep breath as he began looking around for his siblings.
Handsomepaw hadn't exactly expected this.. but well, Cherrpaw was expecting his kits, and what was having a wedding today, instead of a bit later? They'd touched noses, so they were bound together one way or other. May as well make it official now, though he wondered how his mate-to-be would like the idea of sharing a wedding day with everyone else. biyuu ☆彡
Nocturnepaw was wary being at the springs, though he knew it was silly to be afraid of a place but as beautiful as it was he had a bad feeling about this place. He honestly didn't know why he was here, he glanced around looking for any sign of his siblings ebony fur amongst the crowd but if they were here he couldn't see them. So, when he spotted Bravepaw searching the crowd his heart fluttered in his chest and his paws instinctively pulled him towards the tom. Delighted by the fact that the cinnamon tabby was wearing the necklace he got him.
"Looking for someone?" He purred, he knew it was more than likely Bravepaw was looking for his siblings he was always trying to protect his siblings. "I think I spotted them with Bloodystar closer to the front." Honeystorm

Was this his moment? Maybe. Even if Vulture could tell most of the cats here found this sudden development nauseating, he found it as the perfect chance to strike. A convenient little festival to let him claim what he was convinced was his. All the sucking up to Bloodystar was finally paying off as the large tom slunk through the crowd. He was careful, but it didn't take long for him to find Mountainsound. Steeling himself, trying not to loose his composure at the last minute, he walked up to her. "You know... this could be our ticket out of that prison." Vulture said in a hushed tone. Honeystorm
Anemoneshade bit the inside of her cheek at the announcement. Staring up at the dark figure on the hill trying to reflect light, she wondered briefly why she fell for it. Was she just blinded? Probably. It was in the past though, and Naturalgift's fur brushing against her pelt was a reminder of her present. The Mate Choosing Ceremony went well, even if their kits were taking a while to get used to it. But now this... it was a big step. Even if she once daydreamed of doing this with the leader, the meaning of forever had finally sank in. "What do you think?" She tilted her head as she looked at him. "I think I'd rather..." Anemoneshade paused, her gaze tearing from him to look up at the leader for a moment, "wait." Flurryofstars
Vantapaw had been sitting on the opposite side of the crowd from Nocturnepaw. Sure, he'd rather be with him than feeling all by himself. Even though he already felt some distance since the romance festival worked out for Nocturnepaw and not for him. His nose scrunched up at the announcement, and as the others began to mingle, he pranced through the crowd. Acting like hot stuff even though he didn't really feel that way, it at least made a few step out of the way so he could see. But instead of finding his brother, he ran into Soaringpaw, Darkpaw and Balancedscale, just catching the end of what she said. "Duskslayer? He's probably towards the back. I didn't see him from that way." racerJadieHoneystorm
"Hey mister Perfect," Blindfaith said, her tone wasn't playful, but it was kind. She approached him with a sweet light footed skip, gliding over to his side, "Big crowd," She commented, her head leaning into his to talk more lowly, "I can tell how tense you feel... What would you like to do Perfectstorm? If you'd like, we can get married young, but we take our time," She smiled at him, she may as well not have been blind from the softness that flowed from her gaze into his, "And we could go out every night, make wild loving gestures, could be fun. Or we could get out of here, avoid it all. We would see the world, meet new people, watch out for another. Let's do what you want to do today, Perfectstorm."
Duskslayer was seated in the back of the crowd as Bloodystar made his announcements. With the clatter of pebbles the dusky brown priest promise tilted his head with a clever grin to Scorchedwhisker, "You thought we were done for huh?" he breathed with a silky sly tone, "Two emeralds... And FIVE rubies! My knight succeeds in dodging the fire breathing frogs blasts by using his feather of protection that he got as a secret reward for defending Lady Buttercup. But right when you think he's going to finish off the frog he stops, because he knows his faithful catadog won't survive if he defeats this beast. Instead he drops the feather," Duskslayer said more softly, placing a feather onto Scorchedwhisker's catadog, unable to meet his friends gaze, "My knight says... I'm sorry brave catadog, but I'm not going to make it out of this, but you can. And with that, the fire breathing frog annihilates my knight, leaving catadog as the last surviving hope..." He sniffed, turning over this winged cat knight class piece.

Scorchedwhisker couldn't help but roll his eyes. But a small smirk crept up along his muzzle regardless as he watched his friend. "You and dramatics go hand in hand, you know that right?" He teased, gently tapping Duskslayer's cheek and being careful not to disturb the pieces that made up their game. "You know I'm not so good at the drama but uh... let's give it a try." The siamese tom said, clearing his throat. Scorchedwhisker did his best to imitate the emotions he thought his catdog would be going through, but he just didn't have the same dramatic flare that the priest promised did. Instead, the small monologue came out a bit awkward and stiff. "Oh brave knight... why would you sacrifice yourself like that? However, will I be able to do this without you now?" The tom dragged a paw across his face, stifling a bit of laughter as he shook his head. "Yea, I'll just leave the dramatics to you" Faith
“You- you were?” Carnagepanic stared at Valleyrose, bewildered. He had enjoyed their date, but he didn’t think it was special enough to satisfy anyone else. Everyone in this clan was so outgoing and exorbitant and he just wasn’t.
“I... I’m sorry,” he managed to say, “I didn’t know.”
Should he be concerned she came up to him today of all days?
"UGH!" Soaringpaw shrieked and was immediately embarrassed for causing such a scene. She twisted and turned against Balancedscale but he was a bigger. Even though she had the advantage in speed, it would be very difficult for her to escape his grasp on her own. Finally she gave up on trying to squirm away and bit him as hard as she could on his neck sort of like a vampire. Blue eyes searching the crowd , "Darfpa! Vannapa! Get m off me!!!!!" "We can't leave, that's against the Sun God's plan," Perfectstorm replied with such conviction it was like he was a soundboard and Blindfaith pressed the, well, 'blind faith' response. He knew he needed to reply quickly because it would do him no good to think about what she had presented. He'd never considered running away from SunClan in all his life and here his future wife was trying to get him to give into a temptation that many, but definitely not him, had, "We'll follow the path set before us just as our God has always intended. Bloodystar knows best, after all..."
He paused, then flicked his ears back. Perfectstorm knew he had been a little rude. Clearing his voice, he added a little ore sheepishly, "... But there is a honeymoon tradition after the Tying of the Knot. I'm sure if it's me asking Bloodystar will let us get away for awhile. Where... where would you like to go?" Faith
Valleyrose blushed but didn't turn away, instead giving him a sweet smile. She, as always had flower petals accenting the pale yellow paint on her face, it was simple compared to most other she-cats but it suited her just fine.
"I think you're a nice cat, Carnage, but I got a little swept away with the festival," She replied honestly, "I don't want to rush things like everyone else seems to. Besides, my mother may have actually killed you." Cleaver
Darkpaw resisted the urge to jump in at first, but as soon as Balancedscale began holding onto his sister like a frightened kit, he yanked the tom off roughly by the scruff tasting blood in his mouth as he deposited him on the ground. He reached down grabbing the toms chin and lifting it upwards so that their eyes met. This time there was no slow build up of pain, only the sudden intense burning as if he had been thrown directly into a fire "No" one word, but it was all he needed to get his point across, as he released the toms face placing a firm paw upon their shoulders so that they couldn't go after Soaringpaw even if they did manage to recover quickly HoneystormJadie
"Form two lines. She-cats on that side of the hill, toms on the other. Same sex couples can pick whichever side they are on so long as they are not on the same one," Bloodystar called out to the SunClan cats, his voice a little tense. Already cats were starting to act up and he wanted to get everything in order before Honeystorm replied and brought in true chaos things got out of hand, "The couples coming together today are [insert your cat & your cat's name here] as well as..."
He was at the end of the list and paused. This next bit was going to be... hard. But it had to be done. He had to insure the future of SunClan and he truly believed that this was the best way to do it.
"Perfectstorm and Blindfaith, Balancedscale and Soaringpaw, Darkpaw and Resilientbloom and Bravepaw and Ferventprayer."

Paintedcanyon glanced over at Magnoliablush. Though the two hadn't exactly touched noses during the romance festival, and didn't think that they counted towards this, but would she want this? The two knew each other well enough, but to permanently bind their souls together as one? That was a big step. The ginger tom glanced back up at the highpriest with a furrowed brow. Something just wasn't sitting right with him about any of this. Paintedcanyon flicked his ears as he listened to the names. It couldn't be a coincidence that he was pairing his adoptive children with that of his priest promised... something didn't sit right with him about this. The ginger tom watched carefully, the bad feeling in his gut gnawing away at him. racer

Alios turned to Silverdragon as their names were called, tipping her head in curiosity about what he would do next. Would he fight against the order? Would he want to get tie the knot with her already? She blinked, taking in his reaction carefully to see what he would choose. Would he be a dragon or a sheep? Nova -----------> Magnoliablush turned to Paintedcanyon, her face heating up as she heard their names. She only just now mustered up the courage ton confess her feelings for him, this was all happening so fast. Even though she looked a lot more confident than what she was feeling on the inside. Her ears fell back "Is this really happening?" she asked quitly to where only he could hear Nova
Nightfury waited patiently in the Ceremony Springs with his mate. Maybe? He didn't really know. They had spent a lot of time together, but he wasn't quite sure where they fell yet. In Bloodystar's eyes they were already a couple, but that never sit quite right with them. They had done some growing, and he was just about comfortable with that now. He looked over to Sunnysmiles and tilted his head as the cats began to split up. Did they want to join them? strawberrycupid
Resilientbloom had escaped touching noses with anyone and her eyes widened. "B-but I didn't pick Darkpaw." She whispered, ears flattening as she began backing away from the ceremony.
///---//
"What?!" Tenebrousrequiem roared rising to his paws. "Ferventprayer and I chose each other! You're breaking your own sacred ceremony!" He shouted. "We touched noses, there were cats that bore witness to our paints mixing together! She is my mate."
This was just-
He knew it would be death.
But in this moment, he'd rather chance death than have Ferventprayer ripped from him and just quietly stand by.
Plus if he died, he could haunt Bravepaw if he didn't treat Ferventprayer like a queen if the apprentice didn't have the backbone to stand up for himself.
He pressed against Ferventprayer and glared at Bloodystar. "Your own rules stated she is mine," He snarled
