Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cradlegrave found himself a nice place near the middle of the Cat Tongue to sit in preparation for what was to come. Back when he'd lived with his big giant screwed up family on the ranch, they'd held monthly meetings that generally involved a lot of boring talk about absolutely nothing, and then generally devolved into various forms of fighting, screaming, and crying. He didn't know which he preferred, but hopefully tonight's meeting would be neither of those things.
"Alright then." Cradlegrave cleared his throat as he watched the various cats file in, "this meeting is--what the hell is it called? Now in session. God."
complacentdevilGidgetGalJadiepLutopaoashestoashesFlurryofstarsmeowneverstarstarHoneystormstrawberrycupidwoof this is an optional thread for swiftclan's main staff + counselor + scouts to optionally discuss matters such as: how is swift settling into the new territory? should they be doing more to protect themselves from the other clans, given how they got raided by sunclan last year? how are firetooth and fawnpaw coping now that their den is right next to the nursery? such thrilling matters and more could be discussed!

Heavypetal sat himself near, but not next to his leader, his shoulders squared as he made himself look as dignified as he could, his thick tail curling over his large paws as he waited to see just who would show up and what they would have to say.
Blacksky in turn had arrived closely behind the deputy, a confused look on her face as to why scouts had been called, but she was a scout, so here she was. The tortoiseshell did have some new information, she had taken to hunting to bolster the supplies of the clan, and had found some rather interesting things about the way prey ran here, but she kept quiet as she sat a fair distance away, not wanting to draw attention to herself more than she already had just by being here.
Firetooth let out a loud yawn as he lumbered into the clearing, padding in beside Cradlegrave and Heavystep. The Medicine Cat glanced between the Leader and Deputy for a moment before unceremoniously flopping over onto the grass, laying on his side. Somewhere between his impromptu visit to Sunclan with Jetfire, and Swiftclan's kits screaming at all hours of the night (who's bright idea was it to put the Medicine Den literally right next to the nursery?!), he had decided that acting like a professional could get bent. Dear Ancestors he was just...so tired.
Sliprabbit bounded in with kit-like excitement, her feathery tail billowing behind her like a cloud as she leaped up the side of the cat tongue to one of the higher wooden platforms that was bathed in sunlight, taking a moment to stretch out in the warmth before loafing there. As much as she loved him, her uncle never had cool meetings with the Scouts and everyone when he was Swiftclan's leader. She really felt like she was contributing something important by having Cradlegrave call her here.
Lovearrow was lounging, seemingly like she didn't have a care in the world, but first cat who asked her what was up soon learn she wasn't yet over her crush and love of Chimerastar. She's accept the new leadership, whatever. But! She would not accept that Chimerastar loved someone else. Clearly he was just confused and the she-cat was plotting how to make him see reasoning. In the mean time, here she was as a scout, called to this...meeting of some sorts to do whatever they're doing.
Cradlegrave cleared his throat, even though no one had really spoken up yet. "The first thing I, uhh, wanted to check up on is how we're feelin' about bein' neighbours with Primal Instinct now, I know their reputation is a little....skeezy, but I think if we got to know 'em we would--Lovearrow, why do I get the feelin' you're not very present in the moment right now? Because that's the feelin' I'm gettin'."
"Who could be present when their heart is broken!" Dramatic as ever, the she-cat rolled belly up, placing a paw over her eyes. Oh woo her, how cruel life is to take her true love and convince him he wanted someone else. Lovearrow could also feel anger rising though the thought of the other she-cat with her beloved Chimerastar. She may have accepted these leadership changes, but she was not happy with Chim leaving her for someone else.
Intrepidsoul and Locketwhisper walked up together to the meeting discussing what they had found in their last scouting patrol. Intrepidsoul had went to the northern and western part of the area while Locketwhisper had checked the southern and eastern. They talked a little bit more before splitting up with Intrepidsoul finding Heavypetal. The grey and silver tabby said good bye as he made his way over to the deputy. He quietly sat down before turning to his friend, "Did I miss much?" complacentdevil
Meanwhile the dark brown tom found himself a spot with no other cats around yet. Locketwhisper made his way over to the area listening intently to those around him but not saying anything himself. It's not that he was an anti social cat...he just preferred listen and watch rather than talk.

Heavypetal watched as Swiftscout managed to climb her way atop Cradlegrave, his brows furrowed in confusion. He wasnt sure how the other tom managed to keep such a straight face with everything that seemed to happen to him, but he figured eventually he'd have to learn. Though he wasnt sure how used to being climbed over he could actually get. Intrepidsoul was a pleasant surprise with everything else going on, and he nodded in greeting to the other tom, sweeping his tail to the opposite side from where the scout sat, "No, nothing has actually been discussed yet," he explained, his voice quiet as not to draw attention to himself.
Nothing has been discussed yet, Cradlegrave echoed in his thoughts. That was probably going to be a reoccurring theme during all their meetings. "Well, I don't know how I can help you, Lovearrow," he said. "I mean, I was there when Chim turned you down that one time, and, uhh...it was a pretty hard no from him, so. Them's the breaks, I guess. Maybe find a hobby or somethin'." He paused. "Does anyone here have any strong feelin's about Primal Instinct? Because it turns out we're neighbours with them now."
"You don't know anything about love!" Clearly, he didn't understand if he couldn't see that her heart already belonged to their previous leader. Rejection or not, she was still in love with the tom. And it'd take a lot more no's before she'd accept that! Lovearrow frowned as business moved onto talk about Primal Instinct. She had no opinions about the group besides that they didn't understand love either that much she knew. I mean come on! Did they not know anything?

Intrepidsoul heard Lovearrow and Cradlegrave's conversation (it was kinda hard not to) and chuckled. Talking quietly so as only Heavypetal could hear he said, "Well glad Chim got away from that. Last thing he needed was a cat chasing after him so...uh enthusiastically." Pausing the tom then added, "Yeah if that happens to you let me know and I'll try to help you as best as I can." He knew his friend was on the quieter side of things and so definitely would be uncomfortable with that. complacentdevil

Cradlegrave blinked as he processed Lovearrow's words; he'd been all prepared to move on to more pressing topics, but he couldn't shake her accusation from his mind. Was that true? Did he really not know anything about love? Sure, his courtship of Brownie hadn't ended up working out, but it took two to tango, right? It hadn't been all his fault, right?!
"Well, Lovearrow, I can't pretend that you didn't hurt me a little bit by sayin' that just now. And I can't pretend I'm not re-thinkin' some of my life choices a bit," he said. "Do y'all think that's true about me? Heavypetal? Intrepidsoul? Firetooth?" He pointedly didn't ask Swiftscout, who undoubtedly would've said yes.
"Maybe he doesn't love you cuz you're you," said Scout to Lovearrow, rather flatly and unapologetically. "Your failures as a person don't reflect on anyone else. Primal Instinct sound like a nice group. The type that would give us sugar if we asked," she added without pause, moving so she now had her two front paws on Cradlegrave's head.

The tom hadn't expected to be dragged into that conversation but now he was mentioned he couldn't necessarily ignore it. Thinking carefully before he spoke Intepidsoul remarked. "I don't think that is necessarily true. I mean everyone knows how to love...it's just finding the right type of cat to bring it out in us. So I do not think that was right, I think you know or have an idea of what love is." There that sounded good and was honest.

Heavypetal nodded to Intrepidsoul with a knowing smile, hoping that no one would find him that... interesting. At least not enough to pine after him to the ends of the earth. It was bizarre, if roles were reversed, why didn't Lovearrow just... leave to look for Chimerastar? He wasn't sure, didn't even know the previous leader to be fair, he wondered what it was that drove the scout to pursue him so.
His ears perked and he turned to look to Cradlegrave, his eyes flickering between him and the scout leaning on his head, trying to think of what to say. He was sure he knew what love was, but it was true that his leader was... well, not really seeing anyone. Not that he could speak about that since he was in the same boat himself, but nevertheless. "I'm sure the right person for your kind of love is out there for you," he responded, hoping that it was sufficient enough of an answer.
Lovearrow coudl careless about hurting his feels, didn’t he understand she was practically grieving here? She’s lost the most ideal cat in the area to...to some other she-cat! Anger set in though when Scout began speaking. In that anger, the fluffy white she-cat leapt and tackled Scout, growling at the other cat. “How dare you! I’m Ana amazing cat and you know nothing!! You’ll never find love if I have anything to say about it!!”
Thai meeting is going great guys lol truly productive lol
Cradlegrave was about to thank Heavypetal and Intrepidsoul for their kind words, but Lovearrow threw herself at Swiftscout before he could say anything. As much as Swiftscout annoyed him, he didn't really want to see Lovearrow fight her--especially when he suspected that Lovearrow, above all odds, would be the one to lose in the end somehow. "Lovearrow, sit down and shut up! You'll never win Chim's heart if you keep actin' a damn fool every time his name comes up!"
would it really be a swiftclan meeting if it wasn't totally unproductive tho? xD
