Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The moon was high overhead as Psyche hummed to herself. She preferred to pick the herbs during the night, closer to sunrise than sunset, in the belief that is was then they held the most power. Plus the lower light was not painful on her eyes like the bright sun was. So she sorted through the leaves plucking flowers and setting them aside from the leaves and roots. It was calming work that was made easy by a woven basket she had trade with a loner for. It was much easier than a leaf wrap and it carried more. She was trying to get the last of the above ground herbs before they finally gave up. The garden still had plenty of plants, but not everything grew down there. Not to mention she liked to have a large supply to trade with the clan’s medicine cats for things she couldn’t find. Normally that probably should be the job of the chaman or even the guider superior, but neither existed at the moment. So several of the more experienced guiders had been working to fill those roles for the younger guiders and cadets.
Her ears flickered as she heard something behind her. Of course she did not smell a fox, badger, or any other predator. So she simply waited for them to announce themselves or ask her something. She was working so nothing would really disturb her unless someone was there requiring something of her.
The cat approaching her turned out to be none other than Axiom. The black-and-white tom had been absent for the past couple of days, although it came as no surprise to any cat, he often wandered off for extended periods of time. Despite being a Raiser, he went about to position differently than most, fancying himself more of an educator rather than a babysitter. Part of that education required knowledge of current events and, well, that's what he'd been doing, collecting gossips and sorting fact from fiction.
Upon seeing Psyche, Axiom tensed up slightly and corrected his posture before approaching her. His striking blue eyes shined brightly as he dipped his head toward her, a formal greeting, "Guider Psyche, what a coincidence! Although, perhaps not. I can't say I've seen your out in the daylight near as many times I've seen you in Selene's silvery embrace. It suits you."

She turned her head slightly to look over the unusual raiser. Axiom was a newer member, though he had some impressive claims to the Regime’s history. Of course that was if his ancestry was true, the Damaris family also claimed similar lineage and it clearly was false on their end. But the fact that his mother hailed from a long gone group with ties to the Regime and a great deal of knowledge did go in their favor. She would be lying if she didn’t say his bloodline impressed her. Psyche had dreams of someday having a position of power, though at the moment it was not in the front of her mind.
“Thank you for the flattery. Is there anything you desire?” She asked turning back to her work. Considering the lavish praise he used, which was only partially due to his theatric nature, he clearly wanted something. Psyche grew up in a family that often only did favors in return for something else so if Axiom was only being nice it would have never crossed her mind.
"What do I desire, huh?" Axiom cast his stark build eyes up at the sky, deep in thought, it really was a big question to ask someone you hardly knew, "Aside from love, affection and acceptance, I do quite like to tell stories. It's why I became a Raiser. How about you tell me one of yours? Fact of fiction, it doesn't really matter to me, I love them all equally."
To make his point, he sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws, eyes shining. That Starkfield face of his was round with big eyes and honestly made him look like an adorably overgrown kit. He certainly had the curiosity of one.

Psyche thought for a moment, she herself was somewhat new in terms of the regime. Her family had joined when Shule first became commander and since then she had lost both of her parents. Now it was just her and her siblings. "Hmm, well I suppose I can think of something." She set the herbs aside in the basket, satisfied with her work.
"I was born far away in a different mountain range, my parents had just left a small loner group who wanted to settle down. My parents desired to still travel. So I spent my first moons learning how to climb cliffs and avoid large birds of prey." Psyche had fit in well in the mountains her slim but strong frame was a testament to that early upbringing.
