Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He found himself near the nursery once again, and his coat prickled with discomfort. There were too many memories for him here; even if it wasn't the same cave he had grown up in, just having so many queens and kits around was enough to make him feel sick. Too many cats he had known as kits were dead and gone now. And he wasn't very eager to talk with who he had come to meet today, either.
"Lovepaw," Chim greeted stiffly as he found her, glancing disdainfully at her kittens. "Do you have time to talk?"
Tearing her gaze away from her kits was easy, especially for her dear Chimerastar. “Of course! For you? Always, Chimerastar!” Lovepaw bounces to her paws without a second thought, practically flying herself to his side in a moments notice. She would leave everything behind for him. Her ultimate goal in life was tos we him happy, and in love. Preferably with her.
Chim had to remind himself to keep calm. She had just returned and she was already getting on his nerves, but that would be over soon. "This way." He led her away from the nursery and a short distance from the camp where they could talk in private. "How was your apprentice exchange? Did you do any training while you were gone?" He supposed the other clans couldn't be as negligent with their young ones as he had been.
"Some, but SUmmerClan wasn't nearly as interesting as our is. They don't move around and their cats are strange at that. I mean really, can you blame me for coming home as soon as I could? Though, there was this one tom...but I'm sure you can guess that I'd always choose SwiftClan over any cat. Well besides you of course, Chimerastar!" Lovepaw would bad mouth any clan if it meant she'd stay in his good graces, and that it'd show her loyalty of course! the she-cat stayed close to him, far closer than was needed for such a simple trip outside of camp. "Any place in particular we'll be walking to dear Chimerastar?" She batted her eyelashes, as though that would win him over as it had the tom in SummerClan.
"There are some lovely cats in SummerClan," he agreed mildly, thinking of his family there. "This tom you met, he didn't go by Turtlepaw, did he?" While he couldn't imagine his one-eyed former apprentice would be interested in Lovepaw, he was surprised that anyone had fallen fro her. He hadn't seen Turtlepaw in many moons, and if the tom was even still in the clan, he would be a warrior by now. Was he as sweet and slow as he had been before? Did he believe in himself yet?
He shook away the thought and mulled over her question instead. "Not far, just where we can talk without being overheard. Over there should do suitably." He nodded toward a tall cluster of starthistle.
Cleaver sorry! soo there's no dad, at least unless someone wants to volunteer for her kits
"Why do you ask?" She was curious, was he jealous? Oh, how she hoped he was! It'd just confirm her expectations that he needed and wanted her of all cats. Lovepaw glanced at him from under her eyelashes, batting them once more to gain his attention. Her heart raced when she saw where he'd selected to stop and talk. It was near the river way, and the sun would be setting soon too. Was this his way of saying he needed her? Wanted her as his mate?!?
"I lived in SummerClan once; I have family and friends that still reside there." Chim didn't even notice the way she was looking at him. He was lost in his nostalgia, thinking of how nice it would be to drop by and see his sister again. It had been too long since they'd spoken, and he never got a chance to speak to her at the last feast. After he was exiled from the clan, he thought he would never see her again, but luckily Ratstar had taken over and he was on good terms with the other one-eyed tom.
"I'm sure I met them,. Go ahead tell me their names and I'll tell you if I have!" Lovepaw was doing anything to keep him talking, even of cats she was sure she hadn't met. The mere presence of the tom was comforting, desirable, even if it was about cats she didn't know. Though she hopes to one day know them and them to know her as Chimerastar's mate. It was fitting to at least have an idea of her future in-laws.
Chim sighed as he considered the question, leading her toward the bushes. "Turtlepaw must have a new name now, but he was my apprentice once. He had one eye, scared guy, you would know him. Thunderstorm, that's my sister, she lives there with her kittens. My aunt Sekhmet... there must be others."
Lovearrow hadn't encountered a single one of them, but no need to tell Chim that. The she-cat merely hummed, as though she was thinking back on her time in SummerClan when really she was searching for what to say next. "Chimerastar....what did you call me out here for?"
"Right." He blinked away the memories and looked back at her. "I'm looking for cats to become the first set of Scouts... and I think you should be one of them."
