Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Walking away from the Regime was going to feel like he was walking away from his own sanity. Typically Dusky stayed where it was safe, logical, that was what the Regime was, but to go back to SunClan didn't make much sense other than his friend needing him. There were some ground rules he sorted out in his mind that he called the Aw Hell No's. Basically red flags that meant get the heck out of SunClan and don't look back.
1) Safety is a number on priority, people get hurt, but no one is allowed to be hurt from negligence
2) No family member is going to be imprisoned, if someone actually did something clearly heinous they would be sent back to the Regime's prison to avoid brainwashing
3) Family sticks together, no one's turning against one another
"Today's the day, your mother and I are returning to SunClan to support Bloodystar. I hope someday to come back here, but the futures promised to no one. It's each of your choices if you would like to come with us. Although I encourage you to stay in the Regime, it's safe here, you know everyone here, you can choose the life you want, and your grandparents love you very much. But I will warn you that in SunClan you do have grandparents there and they are wrongfully locked up, it will not be an easy life in SunClan. You will have to guard your morals, remember family is first, and not allowed yourself to be tricked into betraying yourself or your family," Duskslayer said, but internally hoped his kits would stay in the Regime.
Sean stood nearby, leaning into the tunnel wall, hoping for the same, that the tykes would stay, but would they? If he were there age he would have gone wherever his mother went, no question about it.

Shule stayed beside Sean, ebony tail curled against immaculate white paws. "You are also welcome to return to the Regime at any time." She added. For the most part, this would be difficult, and she didn't expect them to come back often, if at all. Though, she would always welcome them back, all the same.
Damek was getting better. Slowly. But he was. Was he strong enough to make the journey, though? Strong enough to go to a clan where his near hairless body couldn't escape the sun as easily? To be in a place that had significantly less leaders to constantly check up on him to ensure he was okay... These were all very valid questions, and honestly, the smartest thing would have been to tell him to stay, no matter what he actually wanted. And yet, his was the first voice to answer Duskslayer. "I want to go to SunClan with you." He affirmed, his voice surprisingly certain.
"If you come with you won't have guiders looking after you, it will be just one person attending to you maybe once a day, maybe. The sun will be hot too, you'll either have to stay inside all the time or get burnt up and have to stay indoors for a week just to recover from one day. If you're coming for our family to stick together it wont' be that easy either. I'll be working a lot more than I ever will here and we don't really know how much life has changed there. Your mother might have to be busier too, we don't know yet," Dusky said honestly, "You'll also have to have clan names, they don't allow rogue names."
Astrid-tyke walked up beside Damek-tyke, a gentle reassuring paw placed lightly over his, "Families stick together no matter what, even when things get hard. In all the stories you and Sean tell things only get bad because siblings can't get along like Abana and Tarak or Sun and Moon. Our story will be different because even if we fight we'll always be there for one another. So maybe some of us will stay in the Regime and we'll find our own ways to stick together, but my heart is ready for this adventure."

Damek listened to his father's words, knowing that would be the case, though hearing it was all the more harsh. Duskslayer wouldn't force him to stay, but he knew his entire family were secretly hoping that he would choose to. He smiled at Astrid-tyke as she spoke and nodded along slowly before his gaze shifted to Sean. "You said I was stronger than the Sun God because I have to fight more, right?" He looked at Dusky again. "This is just another fight I have to win. And I won't be fighting alone." The tyke flipping over his paw to give his sister's a squeeze.
"Well, I'm going too, but only because I'm going to ki---" Allaria-tyke met Duskslayer's eyes and rolled her own before continuing, "-- capture Bloodystar and drag him back to the Regime so Mawmaw Shule can do what she wants with him! Then I'll be a war hero and everyone will listen to me." She fluffed out her black-and-gray coat to make herself look bigger and stuck her tail straight up in the air, "My heart will always belong in the Regime and I'm most certainly not taking some stinking Clan name. But this is my destiny and, besides, it sounds like you and Mama are going to be busy and someone needs to look out for Damek. I wouldn't let anyone touch a single hair on his head if he had any!"
Sean's leaf green gaze watched Damek in slight surprise, "That is what I said and I meant it, but use your strength wisely. Not every battle is for you to win, sometimes it's someone else's fight. In older times I hope you learn that victory isn't always in winning. I've won many battles and almost none of them have ever made me happy. I wish you luck Damek, I hope you know that if you ever feel alone or lost you can always come visit and find protection here like your grandmother said."
"Capturing Bloodystar right off that bat? Wow, so determined," Dusky grinned at Allaria-tyke, "How about if you successfully capture some prey while in SunClan I'll help you learn how to make some traps."
"You really mean it? You'll teach me traps?!" Allaria-tyke purred, standing on her tip-toes now, she was making a point to prove how mature she was now but in the process really showed her age, "I've basically caught a mouse before, this will be easy!" Her electric blue eyes flashed toward Hakoda, her partner in crime by default, clearly she was already scheming her first hunt although odds were by the time they reached SunClan she will have forgotten about it entirely. Oh, the one-track mind of a high-energy kit.

It was a sweet moment. Least it was supposed to be. Huntleigh watched it all go down with sharp blue eyes. Danger was his middle name usually, but now he found himself hesitating. How could his father do this? Or how could his mom, or his grandparents, be okay with this? With going back to some mad land. Watching each of his siblings say they'd go, fooling themselves into thinking it was some sort of fun adventure made him sick. Huntleigh was always looking for a way to separate himself from his father, from Duskslayer's desires for him. But he had no idea it would mean sticking around in the Regime.
The decision was easy, cause he was always gonna rebel. Even if it was what his father wanted them all to do. Maybe it was a disappointment to see the Huntleigh of all kits, turn his back on them and walk back towards Sean and Shule. He didn't want to say anything, want to believe anything. Huntleigh leaned slightly into Shule, muttering "I'm not going."
Dusky let out a sigh of relief that one of his kits was staying, "Good," He said licking his sons forehead in a close embrace, "I'll visit you every other week." He promised, withdrawing from the hug, "You'll have so much more fun here, but more than that you'll be safe." He said, his eyes tearing up because for the first time he was realizing he was saying exactly what Strikhedoniadalisay told him. And he hated her for it. He subconsciously rubbed the top of Huntleigh's head, "If you can be anything, please be kind to those who deserve it." He said, "That's all I ask."
He stood up fully, looking at Huntleigh. He wished he could go back in time, memorize a moment and freeze of when Huntleigh would look at him with love because he doubted he would see it again. But his foster mom had done what was best for him at the time, now that was what he would do for him even if it meant sacrificing his sons love for him. "I love you."
"Coward!" Of course Allaria-tyke was going to ruin the moment. The dark-furred she-cat barreled between Duskslayer's legs, her back against his underbelly, and placed her front paws over his as if that would somehow keep him from scolding her. She leaned in nose to nose with Huntleigh and stuck her tongue out as he paws were occupied, "You're afraid of change so you are sticking with what you know best, which is cuddling with Sean and Shule. Bet you are happy we are going so you can get them all to yourself!"
Despite her harsh words, her eyes began to water and she very intentionally looked away from him, unable to go eye-to-eye without feeling the pit in her stomach grow larger and larger, "Idiot..."

Good.
Maybe Duskslayer couldn't have seen Huntleigh-tyke's face in the embrace, but it was shocked. Eyes wide, jaw-dropping kind of shocked. They were really leaving, it was no bluff. And the tiny bit of resistance he could give was pushed away. They were... really gonna leave him. Leave him for some stupid clan, for some awful leader. Huntleigh managed to pull himself together before his father pulled away. Kind to those who deserve it? Who even did?? His world was crumbling around him, and there was nothing he could do.
Though he was snapped out of his thoughts by Allaria, and any attempt at keeping himself composed was gone the moment he was called that. A coward. No, never. He was smart, he was playing his cards right. Not sticking his nose out for others that don't deserve it, not throwing himself to the wolves for something as pitiful as friendship. "Shut up!" Huntleigh-tyke snapped, no snarled at Allaria. His composition gone, he could only see the bridge between him and them and the match in his hand. Tears pricked at his eyes as his fur puffed up, "I'm the idiot? When you're the one going for the most brainless reason. Not that everyone else is much better. I'm not going to follow a bunch of idiots who will throw their lives away for some pompous tom who's just going to use you and then throw you away." Even if he was mostly talking to Allaria, his gaze bore into Duskslayer. Huntleigh yanked himself out of their grips, losing a few hairs in the process before charging past Sean and Shule and running back into the tunnels. He couldn't stop the tears from flowing, letting himself run aimlessly. Anywhere, just to get away.
"We can't leave, we're going to have to stall this another week," Duskslayer said to Unseenlight's as he began to head after Huntleigh-tyke, but was stopped by Sean.
"You're ultimately leaving right? Nothing you can say to Huntleigh is going to change what's actually happening," Sean said.
"Huntleigh needs me right now, he needs more time to adjust, to let this sink in, I know the feeling."
"He does need you so are you going to give him what he needs or are you going to leave? He needs you just as much as Damek-tyke does, but mentally. Are you going to stay here for him or are you going to leave to save what you can in SunClan?" Sean asked, but inside he was hoping Dusky would stay and choose what he already had.
Duskslayer took in a breath, he felt sick and dizzy, "I'm never going to forgive myself. I'd leave the rest of my kits in your care, but if Loelia who can't even walk can find a way to leave with enough will than so can my kits. I don't want any world where that happens so... They can make this choice and have." He stared after where Huntleigh had run away before rubbing the side of his head, "God, I hated it when I was left all alone in SunClan, I'm doing the same thing to him."
"We'll take care of him and you'll visit when you can," Sean said, trying to be reassuring.
"If I can't say you're happy, then you can't say I am, either," Allaria-tyke fired back although she was lowering her voice some, calming down, "I'm not going because I want to. I'm going because I want to stay with my family. I'd never forgive myself if something happened and I wasn't there to help stop it."
Allaria-tyke was just a kit, it wasn't like she could really do that much against SunClan's Warriors, but she had a Warrior spirit. It was the very same spirit that Shule and so many other she-cats in her family had. There was no arguing with her when she had her heart set on something.
"Sometimes you have to do things that you don't want to because it's just right," She cast her blue eyes toward her father, whose whole life she pretty much explained in that one statement, then turned back to Huntleigh-tyke, "Just promise me one thing, okay? I won't ever hate you if you promise not to hate me."
