It was high noon when Bloodystar called a Clan meeting at Ceremony Springs. He stood at the top of the incline while the rest of the Clan had settled in at the base. The red-furred High Priest was dressed extravagantly with a woven wood crown and intricate body point of brilliant warm hues. Instead of the red and orange hues getting lost against in his ginger pelt, they were amplified: Standing in the direct sunlight, the High Priest was akin to flames, powerful, dangerous.
"I'm sure many of you are wondering why I had the Ceremony Springs decorated so elaborately this morning," Bloodystar's voice was easily heard by the cats further away from him, clear as in he was addressing them face-to-face although he was not yelling. The entire area weas decorated with late summer flowers, mostly simple bundles but placed artistically, with small piles of sunflower seeds lining the main path from the based of the incline all the way up to Bloodysatr, "Today we will be performing the Tying of the Knot ceremony. Since the Sun God is not with us and we have yet to locate our next Soothsayer, I will be performing the entire ceremony... Even though I am one of the cats being married...," He trailed off, his eyes scanning the crowd below him until his eyes settled on a familiar silver tabby pelt, "Jetfire. Will you do me the honor of joining me up here?"

Fernskip stuck to the outskirts of the gathered. Her chocolate brown per making her an easily spotted cat amongst those gathered of brighter lighter hues pelts. Her emerald green eyes narrowed as she watched Bloodystar. She had yet to decide what she thought of the ginger Tom. As he spoke she settled into a comfortable position next to a bundle of bright flowers and watched. Surprise lit her features as one of her family members was called. Her tall ears perked.
Jetfire's morning had started off odd, and had only gotten even stranger since then. Bloodystar had awoken her very early in the morning, and insisted upon grooming her fur and doing her paint himself. Bloodystar always insisted that she and her little siblings looked well put together when out in public but she had always been allowed to do her own designs. Then he took the kits, saying that he was going to take them out for a little while on a picnic like they used to do with Littlestar. She had thought it was his way of trying to connect with them, but when the hours began to pass and neither they nor Bloodystar returned it wasn't hard to tell that something was amiss. She had tried to leave, only to be told that she wasn't allowed out of camp, but even in letting her thoughts run wild she still was unprepared for this revelation as she arrived at the ceremony springs escorted by some of the loyalist. Being his mate in name was one thing, but getting married was something else entirely. Getting married in SunClan wasn't reversible, it was tying two souls together as one for all eternity.
Her eyes widened staring up at Bloodystar with complete disbelief, as he called for her to join him. The piece began to fall into place.... The grooming, the painting, taking her younger siblings, being confined to camp... She froze, her feet firmly planted onto the ground unmoving as her heart and mind raced. She couldn't marry him, not after what he had done to her family. She could still feel the warmth of the breathe of the loyalist behind her, the eyes of her clan-mates burning into her pelt as her name was called
He ushered his kits back into the nursery when he noticed a ceremony was going to begin soon. They were too curious for their own good and he suspected they might try to sneak out again and watch, but there wasn't anything he could do about that now. The mostly-black tom wove through the crowd as they started to gather. What was the announcement this time? If he had to guess, from the resplendent decorations, it was a big ceremony. As Bloodystar spoke, he put together the pieces a second before he said the words: a tying of the knot, and based on the paint the High Priest was wearing, he knew who it was for.
Ghostcrown reached Jetfire as she stood frozen. "I think that's your cue," he told her, as casually as he would if she were going on patrol instead of getting married. "You aren't afraid of heights, aren't you? Better to get over that soon, your mate is waiting."
"Jetfire?" Impatient as always, Bloodystar motioned to an unseen cat to his left who nodded and padded out of a sight. It seemed he had expected some resistance and had a plan B in place. Moments later Discordantmelody appeared at the base of the hill, leading the kits from Littlestar's most recent litter with her. They were all painted exactly the same as Bloodystar and looked cute as can be. In the front of the group were Ferventkit and Perfectkit, each of them carrying one of the two ceremonial vines.
"Come on!" Perfectkit chirped through his narrow vine. When he saw the shocked expression on Jetfire's face, though, he frowned, "Is everything okay, sissy? Bloodystar said you'd love this surprise!"
Jetfire glanced around the crowd looking for some sort of out, her gaze finally meeting Ghostcrown's. His tone was calming, but the words that he spoke cut her deep. Her gaze pleaded for him to do something, anything... but what could he do? They were surrounded by loyalist, and acting out now would only get them both imprisoned or killed. Before she could even process the complex emotions, here came her little siblings trotting out carrying the vines for the ceremony gleefully chirping and excited. Even though they called her sister, it was she and Bloodystar that had been raising them. Of course they would be excited for them to get married, to innocent to understand just what Bloodystar was asking her to do. The stories her mother shared with her about her marriage with Skipstep came to the forfront of her mind. Being Bloodystar's mate in name was on thing, but this... She wasn't just agreeing to be with him it would bind her soul with his for eternity, and once completed could not be broken. She would feel what he felt, hurt when he hurt, and never be able to take on another mate even after he had passed. She swallowed hard, as she felt tiny paws on her chest. Looking down Ferventkit was grinning up at her, beaming with a smile that stretched from one ear to the other "Come on sister, we can finally be a real family!"the little calico she-cat encouraged.
The kits seemed to break the trance as she leaned down, nosing each of them gently despite the pounding of her heart in her chest and the stone the lied heavily in her stomach. It wasn't their fault after all, anger boiled just below the surface at how he was using them to manipulate her. She knew the game he was playing, but unfortunately he had won "I'm just surprised is all" she soothed, trying to erase the utter disgust, fear, and anger from her expression. She retreated inwards, her face becoming blank and eyes lifeless as she followed the kits up the hill to join Bloodyrondo.
Perfectkit still felt a little bit uneasy. He was closer to Jetfire than Bloodystar and couldn't let go of a sinking suspicion that was very, very wrong. He was still too young and trusting to know what question to ask his sister next, though, and tried to give her another smile, "Oh... okay! You are supposed to follow after us." The silver tom kit then began to lead the bride, and the rest of his siblings, up the incline.
Bloodystar grinned when he saw his plan had worked, but felt an unexpected pain in his heart. Using the kits had been a dirty trick. He knew it and anyone with enough sense would, too. But he would have his way. This final step in their relationship would cement Jetfire as his mate forever. No one would question the paternity of their kits and he wouldn't have to worry about someone like Ghostcrown trying to turn her against him.
The kits placed the vines in front of where the couple were to sit and were ushered away by Discordantmelody. Bloodystar rose to his paws and approached his mate, touching his nose to hers, "You look beautiful."
Resting on the ground to his left was a candle that would be familiar to Jetfire, although the designs etched into the wax had been scratched away and replaced with painted flames to match Bloodystar's body paint patterns.

Jetfire walked as if sleeping walking until she joined Bloodyrondo on the hill. Her body was there, but her mind was far far away burred deep inside as she feebly tried to protect herself from what was to come. Bloodystar had defeated her, and this was the final step in ensuring that there would be no escape. She stared at him blankly, not dignifying his comment with a response. He knew this wasn't what she wanted, that there was no real love between them. What she didn't understand was why. Why would he bind himself to her knowing that this was permanent? He put on a good front and perhaps he had even started to actually care for her some, but binding their souls as one? Was giving up on ever actually finding love for himself and settling for a loveless marriage? So many questions, and no time to find out the answers to them. Her legs were trembling, closing her eyes and sending a silent prayer to the Sun God to put an end to this. To send down a sign that this wasn't right, to create a big enough distraction to stop the wedding, even to strike her dead in this moment. Better she go on to the isle, then spend eternity sharing a soul with him.
She slowly opened her eyes, but nothing had changed. There he stood, looking at her with expectant eyes holding a candle.... Her heart began to sink further into the depths of despair. It wasn't enough that he taken her mother's clan, dignity, and name. Now he was taking the symbol of her love for Skipstep. The candle forged for the first wedding in SunClan for centuries. She wanted to scream, wail, to throw herself off the hill and fight until they were forced to kill her. It was only her siblings staring up at them and the kits she carried within that kept her from doing just that. They had seen enough violence, and they needed her more than ever if they were going to make it through Bloodyrondo's tyranny
After touching noses with Jetfire, Bloodystar repeated the gesture with each of their adopted kits, "You all did an amazing job. The Sun God would be very proud of you. Now, go ahead and join the rest of the chosen at the base of the hill. After the ceremony we will have a family dinner and you can ask all the question you want." He watched the kits scamper off with a gentle expression. No cat in SunClan doubted that he loved them. In many ways, they were his pride and joy, despite the darkness that brought them into his care.
Once they had joined the crowd, he turned his celadon eyes back to Jetfire and motioned for her to sit down next to him, "Without the Soothsayer or the Sun God, I am the only cat qualified to do this sacred ceremony," He explained, moving the candle in between the vines. The tradition Y shaped stick was not present, "But it will still be a true and valid marriage."
He reached out with his left paw, which was much more elaborately detailed than his right, golden with twisting, root-like patterns that erupted into flames as they trailed up his forearm, "Jetfire, give me your right paw."

"You know, Bloodystar, I'm pretty sure your mate is supposed to want to get married to you." Funkson hadn't really visited SunClan in a long while. Technically though, they had permission to be in the League, and simply presumed their older half sibling wouldn't care. And if he did, well oops, too bad, they supposed. "And I dunno about the rest of you, but I don't think anyone would really want to marry you. Especially not your dead mate's sister."
Bloodystar stiffened and then scanned the crowd for the source of the annoyance. At first he thought Funk himself had showed up to ruin this wedding, but due to the fact that the event was a secret to even the bride, he came to the conclusion pretty quickly that it was actually the former Janus, Funkson, "Funkson, it is rude to interrupt a wedding ceremony. Be silent or you will be escorted back to the main camp..."
It took a lot of self control not to descend from the include and personally put Funkson in their place, especially after the mention of Satinlights, but he had bigger priorities. He flicked his tail and cats appeared next to Funkson to deal with them. *SunClan Loyalist characters please step in here!*

For a moment Jetfire thought her prayers had been answered as the cat's voice rang out over the crowd. Her head snapped around to look at him, gratefully for the fact that someone was speaking up and stopping this madness. But before anything could become of it, Bloodyrondo had shut it down. Her hopes dashed once more, her heart sinking once more. It was only his command that made her gaze reluctantly return to him. At his stern words and gaze, her will to fight faltered once more. She slowly relented, lifting her paw in offering to him, as it trembled and shook.

Funkson laughed. They were Funk and Foxbane's child. There was literally nothing about them that was the type to bow to authority. "Oh, so you're going to be like the Sun God now, forcing she-cats to do what you want because your ego can't take the word no?" They asked, their voice mock innocent. To be quite honest, they didn't care about the wedding, they just wanted to piss off Bloodystar. Mostly out of their own boredom.
“Did the League cats hit you on the head too hard? He said to shut up.” Festeringfruit scowled as he stalked toward his sibling. Why did Funkson always have to cause trouble? He had been glad when they left. “Go back to being selfish and leave this alone.”

"Oh, and you're the expert on love?" Funkson snickered at their half sibling. "You look like you got struck by lightning, is that not an attractive quality?"
Newresidence was one of Foxstar's older son and actually had a stronger hatred for many of his younger siblings. He had been peacefully sitting there enjoying the havoc that Bloodystar was creating with this wedding when Funkson waltz in. That annoying voice that belonged to Funkson bellowed over the crowd as he mocked the new Sunclan High Priest for the wedding. The oriental auburn tom was getting increasingly annoyed. Why couldn't younger cats listen. He sent a glare in Funkson's direction wishing the tom would be quiet.
Bloodystar placed his paw over her trembling one and put their joined limbs over the candle. Their paws rested over the quick and he closed his eyes, beginning the ceremony, "We have chosen to devote our hearts and souls to one another in holy unbreakable matrimony. When this ceremony is complete nothing will ever be able to separate the bond that has binds us two together. To begin, we will light this flame to represent our devotion to the Sun God first and foremost."
When he pulled their paws away, a flame burned brightly on the candle, although it gave off no heat and the wax did not burn in the slightest. A magical flame, but also a false flame. It would serve its purpose for the masses below, "I vow to protect you from any threats that come your way and defend you even after I breathe my last breath." He twisted the first vine around his paw and did the same for Jetfire, then looked her in the eyes, waiting for her vow, only to be interrupted by another insult from his half-sibling.
"I told you to be quiet." For the remainder of the ceremony, Funkson's voice would not be heard by any of the SunClan cats. The former Janus, unfortunately, would not know this, as they can hear themself speaking just fine. It would give Bloodystar the peace he needed to continue the ceremony although the false flame flickered when he cast the second spell.
"This is a marriage, it has nothing to do with love," he shot back. "He's told you to shut up twice now. If you say anything else, I don't care what it is, I will drag you out of this camp and flay you." Unaware that the Priest had silenced Funkson, he pinned them with a hard look and turned to watch the ceremonies again.
Ruinedportrait yawned loudly as she watched the ceremony take place. She didn't take too kindly to being roused from her nest so early, even if it was for the tying the knot ceremony, though with the Sun God absent she doubted that's really what this was. Lazily she rubbed the sleep from her eyes but, didn't otherwise interrupt. If she could get away with going back to sleep then and there she would of done it.

Well, Funkson, of course, did try to speak. "Well, that's not creepy at all to force an unwilling she-cat into marriage." Unfortunately, it was also quickly obvious that either everyone was ignoring them... SO, next best thing! Go up to those hosting the ceremony, right? Pretty much as the thought came into their mind, they were off, racing towards ceremony springs to interrupt. Bloodystar couldn't ignore them forever.
