Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The nursery was Post Kilo, which was essentially a massive nursery that the kits grew up in. Unlike most kits they didn't have free reign to run around an entire camp to play, they were restricted to the walls, most didn't see daylight until they were cadets. The idea of it felt weird, but it wasn't too restricting, parents could take their tykes outside as they pleased. The kits grandfather Sean had tied shiny crystals up in string dangling low to the ground from the ceiling for the kits to bat at and weave through its makeshift crystalline maze. There were plenty of plushies he had gotten from the city and moss to create shapes with. The nursery had far more inventive toys than SunClan.
Duskslayer picked up a plushy curiously, it looked just like a cat, it even had fluffy fur. The toy must have been well loved from the stains and missing patches of fur on its body.
When he turned around he saw the kits grandfather Sean telling the tykes the story of the Blind Protector and Abana. From the moment the tykes were born Sean and him had fun telling the kits all about the lore of Renegade and SunClan. Sometimes they made up stories together about the Moon Goddess and Sun God meeting with Blind Protector and Abana when they ran out of interesting stories. At this point Duskslayer had strayed off far from lore and was making up his own Sun God stories, he couldn't believe he was running out of material!
"And so when lightning and fire rained down from the sky Tarak took cover underground in the park, but Abana stayed above ground to protect the cats in the city. Thus creating Avalon Everlasting on the surface and Renegade Regime underground. Tarak who later became blind is known as the Blind Protector," Sean said, finishing up his story to Astrid, Huntleigh, Hakoda, Damek and Allaria.
Astrid-tyke's eyes shined watching Sean, he always seemed so enthusiastic about the stories! She wished she could have magical powers like the characters in the story. Or maybe even get visited by Abana at night, she sounded so kind!

Huntleigh was something else, almost an identical clone of his father. It would have been weird for his image to be pampered so much, but he hadn't really thought about it like that. It was what he was used to. So as Sean talked, he would absentmindedly bat at one of the stones hanging from the ceiling. All the stories of power and strength enthralled him, and he rolled over onto his stomach. "And then, the surface world above Renegade Regime caught fire, but Tarak would blow it out with the wind like WHOOSH! Right?"
"Psh, Tarak has super strength, he can't control the wind and all that like Sun God can. But, what makes Tarak stand out above the Gods is that he is the only spiritual entity that started out as a mortal and grew into his power. But the Blind Protector's still kind of a wimp, I met him, he's blind, cool and all, but he gave me these lame lives, like I can't die cause I did something stupid, I only get my extra lives if it's being a true sentinel or whatever. Your grandmother never had any strings attached," He said with a roll of his eyes.
"Being almighty doesn't mean all knowing," Dusky said to simplify what Sean was talking about.

Hakoda had already grown bored of the story, and had slowly been making his way around Sean trying not to be obvious about his intentions. Every once in a while he would stop and nod along with his siblings. Now that his target was in sight, he pounced aiming to pin the older cat's tail between his paw. He didn't speak a lot, preferring to show others how he was feeling rather than spouting off senseless words Hopefully Sean would get the message of his boredom

Damek really didn't have anything better to do except listen to the stories. The tom was easily under half the size of his littermates, pretty much hairless, and his breath rattled weakly in his throat. To be honest, even the Guiders couldn't guarantee he'd make it to the next morning half the time. At this current moment, the tiny tom-kitten was huddled in a little 'nest' made specifically for him. It was extra plush, with a small little cloth wrapped around his shoulders to keep him warm. A broken purr rumbled in his throat as he listened, with eyes that sparkled as he listened. "Is the Sun God really like that?" He asked looking especially curious as he spoke, voice almost too soft to be heard.
"You need to speak up if you really want an answer, rat boy." Allaria taunted, batting a pebble at Damek's head. She probably would have kept picking on her smallest sibling had she not seen Hakoda's sudden attack out of the corner of her eye. She wanted to be doing whatever he was! Wiggling her little butt from side to side, Allaria launched herself at Sean's mid-back, although she misjudged her strength and soared quite a bit higher than she had intended. Surprised, the dark-furred she-cat flailed in the air, digging her kitten claws into the back of her grandfather's neck when she landed as she tried to reorient herself.

"Gee, Sean. I'm trying to make the story more interesting here." Huntleigh said with a huff. It wasn't like it wasn't to the other tykes, but there always needed to be more for Huntleigh. More action, more melodrama, a lot more death. He at least didn't attack Sean like his siblings did, but cast a backwards look at Damek before turning away. Not doing a thing to help his younger brother. It was slowly not becoming his thing.

Slowly, the sick tyke seemed to fade back into the blanket, the smile slowly slipping off his face until his frown, and the majority of his face, really, was lost in the shadows. He didn't really bite back, rather, Damek just seemed to sink into himself, quieting down until anyone who wanted to ignore him could all too easily. The kitten really wanted to let their jabs roll off his back. He really did. But he couldn't change that he was sick, couldn't change how he looked, or what he could and couldn't do, so them picking on him for the things he wished he could fix, hurt. They couldn't see it, but try as he might, one tear rolled down his cheek, then another.
Allaria released her grip on Sean and slid down his leg. It was only when her paws touched the cool cave floor did she hear Damek's whimpering buried deep in the nest where she had left him moments before. Her smile faltered and she wasted no time making her way back to his location. Allaria slammed her paws down on either side of him, wiggling her butt from side to side, playful, "Come out and play, Damek! You're not gonna get any stronger if you just grovel all the time!"

Hakoda stopped, knowing that now that the element of surprise was done he wouldn't be able to defeat his uncle. Rising to his paws, he joined his sister, making his way over to Damek blinking " Nice" he added gruffly to Allaria with a stern glare. He wasn't quite as mean as his other siblings, and tried to help out the smallest of their siblings. However he didn't speak very often, and there was only so much distracting that he could.

Damek furiously wiped at his eyes with a paw. "Leave me alone, Allaria!" He sniffled, wriggling back ever so slightly away from her wanting to play. Why couldn't she just be nice to him, like a normal litter? At least Hakoda seemed to be irritated with her for her words, that made him feel a tiny bit better.
Sean barely rubbed the side of his neck as he watched everyone wander over to Damek. He always felt he had little parenting skills, his mom would beat the heck out of his sisters, but he could never do any wrong so he got away with anything. Instead he turned to see what Dusky was going to do, but instead found his son carefully taking time to watch the interaction, he was too much like his mother, all about strategy.
"Allaria, how would you feel if everyday you couldn't play any games, had to eat yucky medicine, and got called a rat?" Dusky asked as he approached her, lying himself down to her level.
Sean walked past Dusky and over to Damek very gently curling around him, "You asked before if it's true and yeah it is, the Sun God's insanely powerful. But you're actually stronger," he said before straightening the young tom kit to sit up, "You're going to struggle more than the other tykes just to be able to do the same things they do. But that will always make you stronger because you'll know what it means to fight everyday. When somethings hard for a normal person, they don't know how to deal with it, they get anxious, they get depressed. But you know how it feels for so much to be stacked against you, someday it'll be just another day, not a hard day, just a normal day. And that Damek is always going to be your strength."
Astrid-tyke walked over to Huntleigh-tyke with one of the cat beanie babies, "You're a father now Huntleigh, go make Hakoda hunt for us, he's a scout."

Huntleigh-tyke pouted as everyone surrounded Damek. While he trailed behind, he didn't look interested one way or the other. The whole building each other up friendship talk was so lame. The dark tom was oddly petty, his attention torn away as Astrid-tyke approached him. He stifled a laugh as he feigned a shock expression. "H-Hey! Where'd this kid even come from? You never talk to me about anything these days!" Huntleigh had too much of a hard time keeping his laughs in to sound serious at all. "Ugh, okay. Hey Hakoda! Go do your job! I don't need my kid crying at me for your laziness."
Allaria-tyke backed away as her father wrapped himself protectively around Damek and, for just a second, she felt a twinge of guilt. She was still not convinced that she had done anything wrong, but the look of fear on Damek's face and the way Dusky gently scolded her, it made her ears burn. She lashed her tail for a moment before answering his father's question with her usual fire, although it was telling that she was not meeting his eyes, "If I couldn't play any games, I'd make up one I could. If I had to eat yucky medicine, I'd eat it with treats. If I got called a rat, I'd shred that cat from nose to tail-tip. If I don't like my options I make new ones! I'm not a pushover!"

Damek wiped his eyes, looking up at Sean as he spoke. "It is?" He asked, sniffling as he searched his grandfather's gaze from within his little blanket cocoon. He flattened his ears against his head at Allaria's insistence she'd do all these things, trying to tune her out. He wished he could do all those things. But when fatigue weighed at your body, and you felt barely able to stomach the medicine, there was only so much you could do. He could live in his mind all day, daydreaming, if he wanted, make himself a world where he could do anything. But it just felt fake. He didn't want to be a pushover, he just didn't have the energy to constantly fight everyone and everything when his own body was already fighting itself.
"You're not a pushover, but you are privileged. You get to eat treats with your medicine, but Damek can't mix treats with his medicine or it could interfere with the affect. You can make up games because you have experience playing games, he hasn't. You can act tough, because you are tough. Everyone's path in life has obstacles, but each obstacle is different. You're talking to Damek like you're asking a fish to climb a tree. He's good at other things, why not focus on that instead of everything he can't do?" Duskslayer asked.
Astrid-tyke watched Hakoda, non responsive... "Some people," She said with a tsk, "Looks like we're going to have to hunt ourselves. I'm going to go find some worms to bring back to little Willowby-tyke." She said, leaving the plush kitten with Huntleigh-tyke while she left to go scrap at the walls.
"Yes. I can promise you that will be your strength, I know you have super powers, that'll be yours. And every hero has a weakness right? So if you have a lot of weaknesses right now it must mean you're going to be really powerful when you grow up. Just never forget your powers. Anytime you feel weak, always remember the power you have inside, it'll always be there," Sean said confidently.

Huntleigh-tyke laughed under his breath as Astrid-tyke headed off to "hunt". The dark grey tom gently patted the plush on the head, "Sorry bud. We all go through the worm phase." He lied through his teeth, even though no one listening. He must have pat the plush too hard as it fell over. The tyke looked over his shoulder, then righted Willowby before Astrid caught him.
Astrid-tyke returned with some worms before dropping them in front of Willowby. "You gotta eat up to be a strong big cat Willowby-tyke," Astrid-tyke encouraged as the plushy fell on top of the worms. That worms seemed displeased by this and began to burrow underneath the plushy making it appear that they were vanishing as the plushy ate.
"There you go!" She cheered before turning to Huntleigh-tyke, "I'm so proud of your son, he's come a long way," She said before turning around and gasping at nothing, "Huntleigh-tyke, SunClan's invading! Quick, grab Willowby-tyke, I'll hold them off!" She said jumping into the chaos of absolutely nothing as she tackled down a rock before uttering an ow before she kept at it. This was possibly the bravest battle anyone had ever not seen.

Huntleigh cringed. Even if he wasn't touching the worms, he could imagine that cold, slimy texture they had. The worm phase had not treated him well. He wasn't gonna ask where she got them. Better to not ask.
"Ah, thank you." Huntleigh-tyke scratched behind one of his ears at Astrid's comment. "The worm diet does wonders." He laughed. Even with the inspirational speech going on over there, Astrid had a way of drawing people into her own world. While the others gathered around their parents, Huntleigh grabbed Willowby by his nonexistent scruff and dragged him away. He did look back when he heard a faint oww. "Are you okay?" Huntliegh asked, unintentionally sending Willowby's head a one way ticket to meeting the ground.
Astrid-tyke rolled over suddenly and there on her should as she lied on her back was the teeniest scrape, "Huntleigh-tyke, I'm wounded... They say I won't be able to be a scout again, that I can't get past this wound. Willowby-tyke's going to look down on me now... You should just end meeeeeee," she said in a fake sob as she placed her paw over her forehead in mock agony.
