Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. Now it was Unseenlight's turn to be afraid to tell Duskslayer what was weighing on her heart... She hadn't known it at the time, but during their wedding she had been harboring a little secret. She had found out later when her grandmother Mountainsound had been helping her remove all of her accessories and revealed the truth. It wasn't supposed to be like this, they both had agreed to not have any kits because of their fears of them being raised in SunClan, and yet here she was. THe first day of their new life together, and she was already keeping secrets from him. She emerged back to the party to start off on their honeymoon, but the color and joy had drained from her face, even though she had forced a smile on her face for appearances. She wrapped her tail around Duskslayer's nearly trembling "Are you ready to go?" she questioned, her voice wavering
Duskslayer walked away from the roar of the festivity, his steps always came off powerful, yet delicate like a buck. he stopped next to her, moments away from the perfect fairytale kiss before pausing. His paw gently touching her cheek, "I can hear the deflation in your voice, is there something you would like to talk about?" Duskslayer asked, his fur kissing up against hers. At the start of their wedding he had felt shy pressing so close to her in public, but by the end of the night he didn't know how he could have resisted for so long.

Why did she have to find out this information now... She couldn’t but with that Mountainsound had waited to say something, because now that she knew there was no fleeing from it. Would their fairytale wedding end in a disaster? Part of her wanted to wait, to hide it away until after their honeymoon... But it weighed heavily on her heart, knowing that there was really only option. She had to tell him the truth, and she needed to tell him now. He had been nothing but straight forward with her, and she wouldn’t lead him on if this was going to tear their relationship into shreds. Big decisions would need to be made and soon... better she knew how he was going to react now, no matter how bad it hurt.
Unseenlights pulled away from his gentle touch, eyes shifted downward even though she couldn’t see “There is something I need to tell you... and I think you should hear what I have to say before we leave” her black ears swiveled, but with all the noise it was difficult to tell if anyone was close enough to overhear them or not without eyes to see “but it’s for your ears alone”
He could feel a pit of dread in his stomach, this could be anything. Maybe his mom told her off, or maybe Kotori was at the party and talked to her, maybe she was having second thoughts on their marriage from some random piece of news she learned. He gripped back onto reality and nodded because none of those concerns were worth worrying about unless they were a reality. He led her down the path they would have normally walked to go on their honeymoon, his dusky brown tail gently stroking against hers through the veil. Within their walk he was dying to ask a million times what was wrong, but they were never far enough. Now that they had walked some distance the question now felt like a heavy weight, like he could hardly breathe to ask her. He was freaking out over nothing, he knew it, but inside he could feel the anxiety rising up. Still he kept himself under control because this was about Unseenlights, not him, "Is this a good distance?" He whispered before blushing, why the heck was he whispering? Of course they were far enough!

With each step, the stone in her stomach grew heavier and heavier, her anxiety creeping in to every crevice. Was this the last time the would work together? She tried to focus on the feeling of his fur against hers, and savor it. Even if he left her now, at least she would have this moment, and the memories that had been shared between them. As they neared their destination, they party could still be heard in the distance, but no one had followed them. After all they were a married couple now, and we’re meant to sneak off to start their honey moon. She let silence settle between them for a moment, listening carefully for footsteps before she spoke and trying to find the right words to say... “Dusky I love you” she blurted our suddenly, but regretted it immediately. How lame was that? Trying to tell him something as big as this only to blurt our something so obvious “I..I..” she stopped trying to put words to her thoughts “I love you to much to keep this from you, even if it means that you don’t want to be with me any more” a tear slowly emerged from her crystalline blue eyes, sliding down her cheek “But you deserve to know, and to make your own decision. No matter what you decide to do, I will always cherish what we have between us” she gently moved her paw, feeling until she had it placed upon his “Duskslayer... I’m pregnant... you are going to be a father, and soon”
Duskslayer laughed lightly, "Comforting," He purred in a wobbly tone, allowing his anxiety to lie bare. Hearing what she said next he couldn't guess what she was going to say. There was nothing in his mind where he felt she could betray him and even if she somehow did he already knew he would forgive her the moment she spoke. In this instance, he was right, there was nothing she could do to betray him. "Hey, hey, hey," Duskslayer said soothingly, his other gently moving the tear from her eyes, "I know what I said before, but if that's true then we'll have a family together and if we're not ready for a family we'll give them the best parents ever." He sat down, moving in closer to her, "I'm not mad, I'm not sad about it, I'm excited for our future. And it would be wrong for any tom to be mad at a she-cat for being pregnant. There would be something mentally wrong with me if I reacted any other way," He swore, "So if the concern is my reaction, I'm okay with it," He smiled softly, "So don't worry about my feelings, how are you feeling about this?"
He kept his emotions neutral even though he knew he should feel happy or scared. But he was afraid that if he gave an overly emotional reaction it would force her to feel one way or another. He wanted to know how she felt before truly allowing himself to take in this moment. If she didn't want kits he didn't want to be over joyed and guilt her. But if she did want to raise a family he wanted to show his support right away. It was the Eerie way, accepting chaos rather than fearing it.

Unseenlights wasn't sure what she expected, but this wasn't it. Duskslayer seemed so calm and collected. She blinked, just letting his words soak in.She could tell that he was holding back, but the lack of immediate regection was a big relief, at least he hadn't stormed off. She leaned into him, breathing in his scent trying to calm her racing heart. The worst was over, and even though she didn't know what life would hold for them and their new family at least he would still be by her side "I.. I don't know how to feel yet" she admitted, but the fear that had been coming off of her in waves seemed to be fading now "Mountainsound was helping me take off all of the accessories from the wedding so I could leave with you, and.. Well she is the one that told me. My grandmothers is an experienced healer. SHe asked me if that was why were were getting married so suddenly, and said that it was good that we went ahead because we will be parents before the moon is up" she felt her face heat up "Doesn't give us a whole lot of time to prepare, and I know its not really what you wanted" she shuffled her paws nervously
Duskslayer could feel the concern radiating off of her, it faded, but all the same she was still worried. "Then let's enjoy each other. You teased me about it yourself, we've practically been living like married couple this entire time. Whatever we decide we can handle it together," He promised her with such a confidence it almost felt almighty, as though no cat should possess such a level of certainty outside of a God. He sat quietly with her, his head leaning over hers, "How about we leave, have the best vacation honeymoon of our lives. But before we leave I'll tell my parents so when we come home we can relax all day long because they'll have set up the perfect nursery for us. And we can stay up late wondering about the kits and what they'll be like," He said in thoughtful wonder before turning his head to look at Lights, "I'm over the moon to be a father, but if you're not ready to be a mother, that's okay too. That just means there's another path for us farther down. But if you do want to be a mom, I'm ready to parent the hell out of those cute munchkins," He said with a teasing amount of enthusiasm.
"What I want hardly matters, it really doesn't. I thought I wanted my parents to get back together, but they wouldn't have been happy. I thought I wanted to leave SunClan, but I didn't. My point is that when these kits are born, whoever they are, and whatever happens next. I'm going to spend the rest of my life wondering how I could ever have wanted anything different than the life I have in front of me. So it's okay if it's not according to plan. I think the best things in life come from the unexpected, like you." He said, a smile in his tone as he ended in a hush whisper. Unseenlights could have heard his sincerity from a mile away.

Duskslayers confidence is what she had need in that moment, though she was still nervous about their new situation it wasn't nearly as scary. She purred leaning in an rubbing her cheek against his her confidence slowly returning "Agreed, but let's keep it a secret a little while longer. Going on our honeymoon will give us time to figure out what we want, without others trying to influence our decisions. Besides, we haven't even decided where we want to set up our nursery" she teased, but really it was sort of a problem when the two of them had spent so long traveling between three different groups "If we say something now, I'm sure we will return to three fully furnished nurseries and the everyone trying to convince us to stay. I want this to be OUR choice" she leaned into him, relaxing for the first time since Mountainsound had told her the truth "I was so worried that you were going to hate me for this" she buried her nose into his fur "It was the only thing that you asked of me the night we became engaged... You were so scared about having kits, and I thought that this would hurt you. I just love you to much, to ever do something intentionally that would make you hurt" she pulled back, her blind blue eyes meeting his "I'm scared, even if I didn't admit it you would know... but with you by my side I know that we can do this together. I don't want to give our kits to another family, it would be like letting go of part of our love story... I would be more than happy to raise these kits with you" her eyes seemed to light up "you are going to be an amazing father"
