Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
the fernsby kinship is a group of cats who consider each other family. they are technically kittypets, yet they don't lead the normal kittypet life. they travel from forest to forest with their two-leg whom they've nicknamed tree; not only for his height, but also for his alpine scent.
tree is an interesting two-leg, preferring to live off the land than reside in the two-leg camp with others of his kind. because of his lifestyle, these cats don't fatten up on processed 'food'; they hunt their own prey. of course, this isn't always the case, for when tree catches anything ranging from a rabbit to an elk, he always shares with everycat.
of course, there wasn't always five cats. in fact, the youngest member of the family was the first one to accompany tree on his adventures. juno was rescued by tree as a young kit, and she doesn't remember much of her life before being found. she was deathly skinny when he found her, and he nursed her back to health. not wanting to be alone, juno decided to stick with tree.
zelda, the eldest, was the second to join the family, having been rescued just like juno. although, zelda was in far worse shape. she was in a fox's jowls when tree and juno came bursting from the treeline like knights in shining armor. the fox consequently dropped zelda and bounded off into the forest. tree took zelda in and nursed her back to health like he did juno. she took a little longer to recover, having lost an eye from the fox attack. she felt indebted to tree, and with her newfound disability, she decided to stay with the duo.
it was only the three of them for a while. having been rescued as a kit (and coddled by tree since then), juno was a terrible hunter. having grown up in the wild, zelda took juno under her wing and taught her everything she needed to know about survival. as they became close, zelda revealed that she had lost her darling daughter to the cold the previous leaf-bare. juno sympathized with her, having grown up without knowing if her real family was alive or dead. they forged a bond stronger than a horse's kick, zelda becoming a mother figure to juno, and juno becoming the daughter zelda never had.
the next ones to become apart of the kinship was sibling trio: eleanor, ezra, and eli. their parents passed away from an unknown illness back when ezra and eli were only kits, and so eleanor took it upon herself to raise her younger brothers. it was actually zelda and juno that had stumbled upon the trio first, and after juno and the brothers talked up a storm, they wanted to go meet tree. eleanor was against it at first, having an aloof attitude fueled by paranoia, but she was forced to follow ezra and eli as they sped away with juno. zelda walked behind with eleanor, and she managed to melt a little bit of eleanor's icy exterior. after meeting tree, eleanor announced that she and her brothers would be staying with them through leaf-bare, and then leaving once it got warm.
it's new-leaf now, and they haven't left. nobody has said a thing, though, because even though it remains unspoken, it was official: they're family.
with the weather becoming warmer and plants blossoming all around them, they're on the move again. the fernsby kinship is residing somewhere between renegade regime and winterclan, though they aren't alone...

hi guys !! i wanted to create a fun lil lkr family and THIS was born! here are a few pointers so theres no confusion and for future reference: * first and foremost, this is a play-to-adopt thread. meaning in order to adopt any of the cats, you need to reply to this thread roleplaying them. that way we can jump right into the rp and you can get a feel for the character! * myrtle and theodore, half-siblings, are being introduced in this rp thread. they will be joining the family via this thread, though they won't become 'official' until a little later on. * the fernsby kinship are going to remain as they are for now, yet i would like for it to be a possibility that they join swiftclan further into character development due to their nomadic lifestyle. that all depends on how events play out, though; nothing is certain right now. i do want tree to pass away at some point, either from an illness or an animal attack. * last but not least, PLEASE BE ACTIVE WITH THESE CHARACTERS!! i have many ideas for the fernsby kinship, but don't let that turn you away! i am 100% open to any ideas involving the kinship!
ALSOOOOOOOOOOOOO........ if someone would make the starting post for the rp that'd be AMAZING. my brain is currently fried from thinking up names & all of that. LOL.
so i need to do this do this now with a quicker one than i normally do becuase i genuinely want this cat and dont want to lose her LOLLL
Zelda blinked her eyelids lazily. She was always slow to start in the morning, despite generally being the first to arise. She let out a soft sigh, before pulling herself to her paws. The sky was still pink, which meant for all intents and purposes, she probably could lay down for just a while longer. There was a part of her that wanted to, a part of her that was still tired despite her un-interrupted sleep. She sighed again, before pulling away from her nest completely. She could imagine that they'd be leaving soon, so it was best to get herself ready before the others...
(yep, sorry lmaooo i edited the name out because it was a weird start without making the connection that only eek would know since i've been talking to her OOP)
Yet this morning was different. As soon as Zelda released her second sigh of the morning, Juno jumped up from her makeshift nest with the biggest grin on her face. "Everyone, wake uuuup!" She yowled happily, bouncing over to where Tree lay sleeping under his strange nest. She promptly pounced on top of him, causing the two-leg to jolt awake with an oof. He then chuckled and picked Juno up, to which she purred and rubbed her head against his. He set her down and stood, making his way over to the large pack-thing he carries around with him everywhere.
Juno began zooming around their temporary campsite, intentionally making as much noise as possible so the rest of her family would awaken. "TREE'S GETTING US FOOD! FOOOOOOOOOD!" She screeched at the top of her lungs.
"Food?!" Ezra was a tom who played hard and slept harder. There was almost no waking him up before he was ready to start his day. Almost. At the prospect of food and Juno's constant crowing, the gray and white tom sat bolt upright, his short fur jutting out awkwardly along the side of his face that was resting against a blanket. His efforts hunting during the previous night had been fruitless, it was like someone else had already been through and cleared the forest of all prey. With his stomach empty, he wasted no time joining Juno as she begged for food. Ezra's classic move was to dip and weave between Tree's legs and he went in for the kill immediately. He very nearly got stepped on more than once but of course he'd been there and done that and he was pretty good at dodging at the last second, "What did you make for us today, Tree? I'm so hungry!" He chattered. His meow was muted compared to Juno's, a sweet chirp if anything at all, but it held the same urgency.
"And that," the she-cat murmured to herself, "was exactly what I wanted to avoid." She generally tried to ensure that Juno was up last, at least, if she could at all help it. She adored the younger cat, but, well... she'd learned quickly upon joining this she-cat and her two-leg that it was rather... unpleasant to be startled awake. "I wasn't expecting you up so early," she called over to her. Sometimes, she tried to think if she ever had been as ... life-filled as the other; she had pretty much come up with the decision that no, she hadn't.
She glanced over to Tree, who she gave a nod. She had as much affection for the man as any of the others. After all, he'd been the one to save her life. However, she had been born a wild cat. She had lived into her adult life as a wild cat. The love she would have for the man reflected it. If either party was in a particular mood, Zelda would let him touch her. Their relationship wasn't strained, per say. She was just never going to be a lap cat. When she needed something he could provide, she would meow at him, but otherwise, she was happy to live her life alongside him.
Such an attitude was one reason that made it so she always let the younger cats eat first. The other was because the feline loved each of them. A mother always ate last, and, although none of these cats were biologically related to her, they were all her children.
When she heard the other cat rise, her lips twitched. "Another surprise," she teased him gently, "good morning, Chip."
(I know they are being introduced in this thread, but I just wanna stake my claim on him real quick)
Theodore was not yet aware of the turn this day would take, nor of the tall man and his feline family that were currently traveling through the land just out of sight. His stomach let out a rumble as he stretched his long legs, lifting his head, he moved to the nearest tree and began to scale it until he was perched on one of its lower branches in hopes of finding a bird or squirrel to join him for breakfast.
Ezra's ear twitched when Zelda wished him good morning and he flashed her a smile, "Good morning, Zee!" Typically he would brush against her side or give her a lick between the ears but he was a little preoccupied with the promise of food so for now she would only get a wink. He turned his attention back to Tree and raised the volume of his meow slightly then stood up on his hind legs. He rested his paws at the twoleg's thigh right above his kneecap and left out another meow, his yellow eyes big and wide like a couple of moons.

Myrtle was not and never will be a morning cat. That was what she had decided, and anyone who knew Myrtle knew that once she had her mind set one something, it wouldn't change. She woke up at the loud caw of a crow, her tail twitching irritably at the audacity the bird had, to wake her up this early in the morning! Despite the sun already high in the sky, she blinked, as if deciding whether to go out and find that half-brother of hers. Eh, whatever. He was probably out climbing a tree or getting breakfast. A small smile appeared on her face at that thought; she'd sleep for a little bit longer, and hopefully by the time she woke, he'd be back with a little bit of breakfast. And if not, well, she could always go hunt down that crow and give it a lecture on not waking her up before noon.
