He was a fool to think today would be different, to think he would be seen for more than his exterior emotions, the constant scowl that painted his face as he walked aimlessly through the current Swiftclan camp. Heatedkit was hard headed and rough around the edges, and despite his constant act of pushing others away he was lonely; he knew he could do better but so could they, everyone gave up so easily in their half-hearted quests to befriend him. The ginger tom let out a sigh and stopped his moving paws for a moment to look around, his claws digging into the ground as he fought the rage that bubbled within.

"Who put a burr in your nest?" Mistralpaw's sharp voice came from within the makeshift den she was using for a medicine cat den, sapphire eyes blinking out at Heatedkit with a wry grin. "You look like you just ate a stinkbug. What's the matter, -kit?" While she spoke she sorted through the herbs she had just brought back to camp, glad to see some of the new-leaf specific ones had finally begun to sprout. With that last cold snap, many of the early-bloomers had died in the frost, and only now were their herb stocks getting back to normal.
