Divinepaw
NightClan Apprentice
The Curious
"Seriously what in StarClan's name are you talking about? I just met you" he scoffed, has this she-cat completly lost her witts? "I'm not supposed to be here, no way am I just going to go waltzing up to your leader and ask her to break a bond that hasn't happened" his eyes widened thinking back to the stories about how cats were forced into becoming SunClan initiates? Was this whole thing a trap? He looked around, but this she-cat was apparently the only one to see him "Look darling I'm flattered that you think we have a connection and all, I feel it to. But I don't even know your name"
Divinepaw was beginning to get frustrated. She marched up to him, muzzle to muzzle. "I do not want a connection with you!" She snarled. "You trespassed onto another clan's territory, got mixed up in their traditions, and now you dont want to fix this!" She poked him in the chest with her paw. "You disrespected our borders, the least you can do is respect our traditions! The Mate Choosing Ceremony is a spiritual tradition! Neither of us can move on with our lives until we break it!"
The last thing that Bloodyrondo was expecting was to be pulled away from Satinpaw, so he gave zero resistance to it and just stood there, totally dumbfounded. He felt a growl rising in his throat as he was about to let whoever interrupted him and his mate's most special moment have it when he heard Littlestar's voice. Fur still ruffled and eyes burning, he kept his claws sheathed but still looked like he was ready to attack. He'd never given Littlestar such a nasty look before and that really was saying something, "We followed the rules exactly. I pinned her, our noses touched and we agreed to be mates. What gives?!"
---
Roble heard some cats howling at his back and figured that that meant the race had finally begun. His hazel eyes drifted back up the slight hill behind him. SunClan cats had so many strange yet charming traditions. Perhaps this Romance Festival was one of the reasons why this Clan was one of the largest and the strongest in the entire forest. Relationships were formed much more carefully over long periods of time in MoonClan which was one of the reasons why he was so patient with Tinypaw.
"HONEYSPLASH! WHERE ARE YOU!" "ANYONE SEE HIM?" "I THINK HE'S OVER THERE!!!!"
A chorus of she-cat voices rang in Roble's ears and he looked back to see at least three cats charging his way. It looked like they were working together and... was that a rope!? He didn't really recognize any of them. It wasn't a surprise, really, he hadn't been in the Clan long, but it was clear as day what their goal was.
"Um, Honeysplash? Aren't the toms supposed to hunt to she-cats?" He looked over at his guide with a totally serious expression. Roble had no sense of urgency in these matters and had actually slowed down his pace.
Of course her daughter had failed to listen and vanished into the groups that had set out in the ceremony, leaving Swelteringeclipse to do damage control. If Honeyplash was around more and acted as a father then perhaps their duaghter would actually take his words into consideration and do as he said, but of course it wasn't that easy, which only made her job harder. "Pollenkit!"
Pollenkit heard her mothers call, but at the very same moment she spotted her father along with the she-cats crazily searching for him, it made her blood boil. "I'm over here momma." She called out before running forward to try and intercept the group hunting for her father, he belonged to her and her alone, she wasn't about to let those crazy brods get to him.
Hearing Pollenkit voice, the queen picked up the pace shocked to see her duaghter running toward the she-cats ready to attack and Honeysplash standing off to the side with another tom as it all unfolded. "For goodness sake Honeysplash! Your a father, so grow up and act like one!" Her voice shook as she propelled herself into the cream colored tom, tackling him to the ground.
Being snatched away from Bloodyrondo so suddenly caught Satinpaw off guard. She let out a surprised yelp and squirmed in her captor's grasp until she manage to get to her feet. She was surprised to see that it was Littlestar who had dragged her away from her new mate. Well not too surprised, she knew her mother wouldn't be pleased. She just hadn't expected her to be this angry either. Confusion, anger, and hurt all swirled in her mind at once. Why was this always happening? At her turn in her and Bloody's relationship there was someone getting in the way. First her own sisters and now even her mother was literally standing between them glaring them both down. No. This was not how things were going to happen this time.
"Why? We followed the rules. I didn't even go easy on him." She was fighting to keep the growl out of her voice that was trying to claw it's way up her throat. To say she was angry was an understatement. her blue eyes were as cold as eyes as she addressed her mother, her body shook with barely contained rage. "We haven't broken any rules. You can't tell me who can and can't be my mate!"

Littlestar
SunClan High Priestess
The Peace Keeper
"Actually as your High Priestess I can. As punishment for your code breaking, I forbid you and Bloodyrondo to become mates" there is was out in the open, leaving little questions as to her intentions. She maintained her composure naming out the rules the cats had just broken, daring them to challenge her ruling
"One. Apprentices are not allowed to participate in the mate choosing ceremony. I clearly stated this at the beginning of he ceremony meaning you BOTH defied a direct order from your High Priestess. Rule one of SunClan's code. The word of the High Priestess is law.
Two. You have broken the fifth rule of SunClan's code. The Clan's religious rituals and festivals are sacred to SunClan, and should be treated as such. This utter disrespect for the the ceremony is intolerable. You have made a mockery of the mate choosing ceremony, taking me away from my duties in order to come here.
Three. You have broken the tenth rule of SunClan's cod. Until they are given their warrior name, cats of kit and apprentice age are not considered full members of the Clan. As such, they are not allowed to attend Gatherings, take on a mate or have kits, cannot participate in any Ceremonies in which they are not involved. Satinpaw, you were not allowed to be apart of this ceremony, and yet you choose to try and sneak out with the other she-cats.
This ceremony is now null and void. Both of you should be ashamed of your actions. If it was anyone else breaking SunClan's code I would make an example out of you" she growled "but I supposed keeping you apart will just have to do for now" she turned to pick up Satinpaw by her scruff. If she wanted to act like a rebellious kit that is how she would be treated. She would deal with Bloodyrondo later.
Satinpaw growled, jerking free from her mother's hold on her lashing out at her with unsheathed claws. "I'm not a kit anymore!" she hissed backing away from the priestess. Her tail was lashing violently behind her and her fur was beginning to fluff up. "I know SunClan's code! The rule about not being a full part of SunClan until I've earned my name is stupid! Why should I jump through hoops for you, and hunt for you if I'm nothing to this clan? I'm not some initiate that doesn't believe in the Sun or know his teachings. I shouldn't be punished for loving one of my own clan-mates!" She was screaming now, she hated how shaky her voice came out but she couldn't stop herself. "You can keep us apart all you want, You can nullify the ceremony, It doesn't matter Bloodyrondo is and will be my mate whether you approve it or not!"

Littlestar
SunClan High Priestess
The Peace Keeper
"That's my point" she stood blocking her view of Bloodyrondo completely "Your not some initiate, your my daughter. You were raised and taught the SunClans code before you could walk, and yet you still choose to break it. What sort of example are you setting for the rest of the clan? You are not being punished for falling in love, you are being punished for breaking our code, disobeying me, and going against the Sun God's teachings. Did you hear the word love in any of the three reasons I just listed?" she moved forward, moving forward until she was down at her daughters level gazing into her eyes
"Yet you still continue to stand here defiantly, I don't want to punish you Satinpaw, but you are forcing my paw"
"Littlestar, you can't be serious!" Bloodyrondo hissed, lashing his tail, but he was smart enough to hold out against his instincts to attack her. If literally any other cat, literallyany other cat, was carrying Satinpaw like that, he would have absolutely shredded them. Maybe even gutted them. Definitely tortured them. But no, it was Littlestar, the only cat in the Clan that had more power than he did. He'd never felt such animosity toward his mentor. He wasn't the most respectful cat but he respected her. He used to, anyway, "The rule about apprentices not being allowed to compete is old-fashioned and just plain ridiculous. We followed every other rule and before the Sun God I'm sure our union will still stand. I don't get why you are so hung up on this, you should be happy for us!"
Bloodyrondo watched Satinpaw break away and fell silent when she lashed out at Littlestar with unsheathed claws. He was deeply impressed by this which broke his heart knowing that she had chosen to fight tooth and nail for him against her very own mother. That should have never happened. It was all Littlestar's fault of course, but it was impossible for him to not feel guilty about ruining the relationship between mother and daughter. He'd never really had one with either of his parents and was looking forward to gaining that special connection with Littlestar and Skipstep. Bloody was already pretty close with Littlestar thanks to their special connection as mentor and apprentice, but what had once been a stream between then had, in seconds, become an ocean.
"Satinpaw!" He had to make a choice, so he sided with his beloved. The ginger tom jumped between the two she-cats defensively and brushed his pelt against his mate's, eyes burning as he turned them to Littlestar. He had never been quite so defiant but on this he would not budge, "What are you going to do, lock her up? There's nothing you can do to keep us apart short of exiling one of us and even that won't be enough. We are both devout followers of the Sun God, it is what brought us together! Please, don't do this!" Did Bloodyrondo just... beg? One look at the tom and you could tell his pride was definitely hurt. This was not how he thought this was going to go down, not in a million years. The wound Littlestar had dealt to him struck him right to the core.
"You still don't understand do you" her gaze narrowed on the two of them "I'm doing this for both of you" her tail lashed back and forth, fur starting to uncharacteristically bristled and disheveled, obviously both hurt and rather upset by the development and their actions.
Memories of her time with Leatherstar came flooding back, almost as if she was looking into a mirror of her own past. If only someone had stopped her then... saved her the heartache and everything she had went through. The authority figures in her life had failed her back then but she would not fail her daughter and her promised. No if they were not going to listen to reason, then she would be forced to use everything at her disposal
"You are going to hate me, but one day you'll come to realize that I would do anything for your well being... even sacrifice your love for me" Several warriors began to move in forcing the two cats away from one another "Take Satinpaw back to my den. They are not to see nor have any interactions from this point forward. That is an order"
"You're right Littlestar, I do hate you." Satinpaw spoke as the warriors crowded around them separating her from her mate. The fire that fueled her rage moments ago turned to ice, and settled like a rock in the pit of her stomach. "If my happiness truly does mean this little to you then I hate you." Ice seeped into her words as she held her mother's gaze. Never before had she felt so calm or so cold as she spoke. "From this day forward you will be nothing to me aside from my priestess. I will grow up to be a warrior SunClan can be proud of but, not for you. When I eventually have kits you will be nothing to them but their leader, you can be sure of it. If this is what you want so be." She broke her gaze away from the high priestess and let herself be guided away by her escorts. Something inside her had snapped, the joyful excitement she had felt at the start of the day was long gone, replaced with the icy pit in her stomach that seemed to chill her to her bones.
Surrounded at all sides and with the only option being straight up insubordination, Bloodyrondo was forced to yield. It was very mature for him but then again it would have been unfathomably stupid for him to do anything else. He always tip-toed around rules and made exceptions for himself, he knew that, the Clan knew it. This sort of event was a long time coming. That's what the gossip would be. He leaned into Satinpaw one last time and brushed his tongue across her forehead, then nuzzled her cheek, a tender embrace, "I'm not going to give up on you."
Then Satinpaw was pulled away and a wall of his clanmates - his future Warriors - stood between him and his beloved. He could power-trip and call them out on how crazy all of this was, but he knew better. Foxbane had done much worse things in her time as High Priestess and the Clan supported her in her madness just as they would support Littlestar in hers. He shot his the WinterClan expatriate a wicked glare and tears formed in the corners of his eyes. The tom was just too torn up to form words for her, he couldn't do it without breaking down, so he held his tongue and tried to force his fur flat. It wasn't working.
Littlestar turned, trying not to let the two younger cat see the utter heart break on her face as her eyes misted over trying to hold back the tears long enough to escape their view. She longed to pull her daughter close and apologize for acting out in anger and hurt, but it was clear she was beyond the point of talking at this point. She could only hope that some time and space away from Bloodyrondo would help her clear her mind. Her heart felt heavy, the weight of the situation was heavy upon her shoulders. To let her daughters be happy, or to watch yet another one of children be buried amoungst the sunflowers...
Her daughter was even smaller and younger than she had been when she had gotten pregnant. Her body wouldn't be able to take the strain, and after a stunt like this she it was difficult to trust them to do the right thing. Even if she explained the risks to them, they wouldn't take it to heart until it happened to them.If she had to be the villain to keep them safe than so be it. Satin paw was already out of earshot, leaving Bloodyrondo there behind her surrounded by warriors
"If you loved her.... you should have come to me first Bloodyrondo" her voice quivered, the hurt and despair that she felt sinking into every word "you should have waited for her"

Honeysplash
SunClan Warrior
The Adorable
"Well that's my cccccuuuuuu...." his words trailed off ending a yelp as he suddenly found himself sprawling on his back with one of the she-cats standing over him glaring down. Her eyes blazing just as fiercly as the sun "Uhm hi there" he greeted awkwardly as other she-cat came streaming down the hill gasping at the sight and screaming at Swelteringeclipse to get off of their mate "You might want to let go of me now" he gave a nervous laugh, the other girls drawing in closer "Unless you really want to fight all of them. I would hate to see you get hurt"
"That's real cheap, coming from you," Bloodyrondo growled as his first tear ran down the side of his cheek, the same one that he had rubbed against Satinpaw's just moments ago. He couldn't face Littlestar looking like this so he watched the patrol lead his love away instead. It hurt more but at least he could retain a fraction of his pride, "While I was busting my tail trying to run a Clan, organize a festival and deal with the broken Alliance, you were out having the time of your life with the love of your life. You know better than anyone how hard it is to run a Clan alone."
He was gaining control of his rage but at the same time getting closer and closer to losing his composure. He was shaking ever so slightly now and his fluffy ginger tail lay limply against the ground. All of his hard work had been leading up to this day. It was the light at the end of the tunnel, the cherry on top. He and Satinpaw were supposed to be curling up in his nest right now as an official mated couple. He had gutted the whole place out and put all new bedding, lined it with some dried out catnip and roses, and filled the room with whatever leftover flowers he could find. He had even personally caught a young rabbit, Satinpaw's favorite food. The thought of returning there alone tonight was made his paws feel numb.
"How was I supposed to come to you first when you weren't even there?"
No one really could have known of Burningpaw's plan. So large it was easy for him to look like a warrior, he charged through the grass with ease. That's what happened when he spent most of his life running. It became like an art, like an escape. Like seeing their tails in front of him flickered the adrenaline he craved. First one he caught was Electricfragment, paws outstretched and pushing his back legs off balance. Couple more strides let him knock over Mapleheart, heart pounding over and over in his chest. Breathing heavy as he used every bit of strength to catch up Mythosseraphim and ram him over as well. Even with that done, he couldn't stop. His muscles only begging for more as he came up beside Tinypaw. "There. They're off you. Don't take this as any kind of brotherly affection, alright. You know I can't stand to see Foxbane get her way. Now get going, before they catch up."
Really. He was not about to get yelled at cause of this stupid festival. "ME crashing into YOU?! Please, just say it like it and call it a coincidence or planned. Autumngossamer was the one that set us on the blind date, and the tunnels were random chance!" Seriously, he had enough of this place. Not that he could try and gut her with her brother and the leader watching right there. When she got off of him, Moonlit flipped to his paws but couldn't get away from her grabbing his scruff. "Are you serious right now? Why do you even care? Did you think you were actually gonna find the love of your life through these stupid dates?"
"and how many chances have you had to speak up since my return?" she questioned equally as cruel "You could have told me in your initial report. You had no trouble telling me about messing up our alliance with DayClan. You could have told me while we hunted down cats stuck in the tunnel. You could have told me last night, we share a den. You could have told me after the morning prayers when we shared a meal. You could have told me while we went on patrol. You could have told me your intentions before the ceremony. You had hundreds of chances to speak with me privately, and yet you seek to turn the blame for this on me" she was furious with him, her hurt turning into fury her words becoming more and more clipped the longer she spoke, her accent becoming harder to understand as her WinterClan heritage began to show through his lips turning up into a snarl
"I was carrying out the Sun Gods will, bringing back a ceremony that had been lost to time. I'm sorry that doing my JOB as High Priestess gave you one difficult moon in your pampered life.Your are my PROMISED. One day you are meant to lead this clan on your own, and you can't even handle one moon surrounded by the best advisers and having everything HANDED to you. You know what? I DO know how hard it is to lead a clan on your own. I was YOUNGER than you when I had to not only take over but compete with a High Priestess that wanted to KILL me and my FAMILY. If I acted as IMMATURE as you are now, I would have been dead long ago. Lionpride and his mate would have been murdered at Foxbanes paws, but instead I did the work to stop it. I SACRIFICED everything for my family. I was wiling to take MY OWN LIFE to save them.
If you think I'm going to just sit by while you put MY DAUGHTERS life in danger, than you are underestimating just how far I will go to keep her safe. To me the world is nothing without them. I would watch the world burn if it meant saving them"
Suddenly she spun around, stalking forward smoothly and silently until her head was pressed against Bloodyrondo, claws out of their sheathes and ready to strike golden eyes burning as fiercely as the eternal flame "I won't bury another child just to satisfy you over inflated ego Bloodyrondo"
In no way was Nikkohydrangea used to the cracked grounds, he had only been in SunClan for a little over a moon and transitioning from snowy soft lands to rocky hot terrain had been difficult. He slipped immediately and the first time got up and grinned at Shadowbard, proceeding to run. But the second time he sprained the ankle of his paw and basically gave up on life lying there on his back with a paw over his forehead, "It's over, my legs sprained, I may as well sleep in my nest the rest of the day. Maybe I can get out of patrols for a week," He said with interest, he briefly looked around before looking up at Shadowbard. In his head he was saying words, it was why he was weirded out that Shadowbard was saying nothing, but staring down at him. Until it occurred that he had said nothing and was staring up at Shadowbard the whole time like an idiot and began to get up, still the thought of Shadowbard's dreamy eyes were trapped in his mind. He had... Never really stared at anyone long enough to become mesmerized by their eyes.

Tinypaw
SunClan Apprentice
The Underestimated
Tinypaw's ears flickered as each set of footsteps suddenly stopped one after another, and her brother caught up to her side "Thank you brother" she grinned, the last cat she had expected to help was Burningpaw but she was grateful to him "I always knew you were just a big softie" she teased gently, her pace never slowing as she continued on her path to find Roble.

Shadowbard
SunClan Warrior
The Soulful
Shadowbard grinned, not because Niko had been hurt but because now there was no escape. He move forward standing over him staring down at the tom with wide eyes, the fur of their bellies brushing up against on another. If he had the power, he would have froze time then and there. The way his heart thrummed in his chest, the way Nikkohydrangea was gazing up at him. The feeling and warmth of his soft fur against his belly. He never wanted that moment to end, and it was only as he felt Nikkohydrangea pulling away, the he moved his paws firmly onto Nikkohydrangea's chest to keep him in place lowering his muzzle until their noses were almost touching "Nikkohydrangea... I know this is crazy. I have seen the way you look at Bloodyrondo, but I couldn't live with myself without taking a chance on this ceremony... I have admired you from afar for far to long. Nikkohydrangea, will you give me the honor of being your mate?"
