( Okay, so, I decided to make a Regime family, plus the others associated with them! We could really use the new blood... If one of the four Veterans is deleted in an AC, or due to leaving the site, they may be reassigned, same goes for the rest. You may take up to three characters, for now, but may only have one of the main four Veterans. Please take only the amount of cats you can be active with. )
THE DAMARIS FAMILY
Named for the 'founder' of sorts, which is really just a fancy word for the fact the family chose it's name to be that of the mother who birthed the litter that would eventually become this family, and died in childhood. This family is a strange sort, as it tends to both uphold the idea of the Regime's military strictness, with respect and obedience being their main principles, while also having a tendency to manipulate others and claim any failings of a member of the family isn't really all their fault. They have been in the Regime for generations, and often like to claim they're one of the 'original' families of the Regime, and also claim every member is pure blooded, with some even trying to claim being related to the Blind Protector, though past Damaris, there is no proof to say any of these are even remotely true. Blood and prestige are important to them, though they hardly seem to have either.
Oh, and they rather dislike Shule & Sean's family. They despise the Eerie family prevalence in most aspects of leadership for the past, who knows how long, and feel as though they've been shorted by not being chosen for high ranks such as Spy, Sentinel, or any of the Superiors. This only feeds their tendency to blame others for their failures. Of course, the real reason they haven't gotten any positions is most members tend to complain and fail at scheming more than actually do their jobs and build lasting relationships... but that's besides the point in their mind.
Does not get along with the Soulaine, or Eerie families. Has a tumultuous, but not necessarily bad, relationship with the Hearte family, and often pays to Monesi families to do the things they don't want associated with them.
THE VETERANS - This is Damaris first, and only, litter of kits. Each chose a different profession, and as such, tries to force their descendants to adhere to it. Those who don't are often chastised. These four are really old by this point, and some of the younger, wilder, members have theorized they survive off of the blood of tykes. Not that they have evidence for this.
Bavol (Wind) - ADOPTION PAGE - Male Former Scout. Flighty and insensitive, he is the eldest of the siblings, and seems to take that to mean his family is the best. He is a rather compulsive liar, which is perhaps why no one quite believes the claims of pure blood and 'original' ranking in the Regime. He is, however, the most charming and witty, with the most carefree and causal attitude of the litter, intelligent and logical and quite the manipulator.
Enya (Fire) - OPEN - Female Former Mercenary. Vindictive and temperamental. She is obsessive over the ideas of perfection, and can be incredibly hard on everyone else around her in pursuit of this. She is incredibly passionate, even in her old age, and will constantly check on the younger members to ensure they're performing well. Though incredibly harsh, her advice is often sound, and as such, she is highly respected.
Kolora (Water) - OPEN - Female Former Guider. Turbulent and lacking in assurance. In direct contrast to her older sister, she is incredibly understanding, but also often irrational, and quite volatile. She is hard to anger, and probably the kindest of the litter, far more open to outsiders and new blood than the others, which makes her the least liked among them. They see her as far too trusting, and she views herself negatively, most often. However, everyone has a limit, no matter how old they may be.
Trevet (Earth) - ATOMHEART - Male Former Raiser. Stubborn and lazy, he is the youngest, and has often had to mediate for his siblings. He is the most stable and sane of them, however, he is incredibly scornful of non-relatives, and adverse to risk. He is the sort you can always be trusted to talk to, if he cares enough about you, but if not, he will brush you off and often snub your presence. When faced with opposing ideals, he's come to dig in his paws and refuse to budge, even to the detriment of the family at times.
THE SOLDIERS - Appearances are up to the rper.
Aquilo - OPEN - Male Scout. Son of Bavol. Mate of Veata, father of Mayrah. He is a lot like his father, carefree and charming, albeit a bit lazy in his duties, simply believing himself to be the best without the proper effort to show it. Everything was handed to him by his father, including setting up his marriage to his mate, whom he doesn't really love, and he despite the age of his father, he simply expects this always will be.
Ciro - OPEN - Male Scout. Son of Bavol. The younger son, and the neglected. Highly resentful of his brother, and far more intelligent, he's had to work his way up to get anything in life, without his father pulling the strings. He is rather bitter about the difference in treatment, and probably wants to take his brother down a notch more than anything else. Highly manipulative, and not unwilling to make friends with non-relatives to get what he wants.
Ambu - OPEN - Female Guider. Daughter of Kolora. Quiet and subdued, she tends to fade away into the background of the family, which is okay by her. She actually believes in integrity, and wants to show their worth as a family by truly hard work, so she keeps her head down and does the best she can. Usually, her relatives, aside from her mother and littermates, forget she even exists, so she tends to be lonely.
Lach - OPEN - Male Guider. Son of Kolora. Angry and jaded. He really dislikes his mother, and any time she tries to correct him, he sees it as a personal attack. Really, he wishes he were Enya's kit, and his aunt largely feels the same. He would rather be a Mercenary, but even Enya pushed him into keeping with his family's profession, and he did, unhappily. Not really good at his job, tbh, and he doesn't want to be.
Rydia - OPEN - Female Guider. Daughter of Kolora. Blind, and depressed. Born blind, a fact that had made her aunt and uncles both mock her and find her useless, she finds solace in her work, and really, doesn't have a mean bone in her body. All she really wants is for someone to believe in her. Her depression often presents itself in anger or irritation she otherwise would let roll off, causing to snap at others and then feel immense guild later.
Tarni - OPEN - Female Mercenary Cadet. Daughter of Lach. Pushed to be a Mercenary by her father. Her mother is unknown. She is sassy and bright, and surprisingly charming when all is said and done, but even so, she was, and always has been, her father's way of living vicariously. He didn't care that she is often ridiculed by the rest of her relatives for not being a Guider, and doesn't know what she really wants, as she's never been given a choice.
THE CADETS - Appearances are up to the rper.
Mayrah - OPEN - Female Scout Cadet. Daughter of Aquilo. The perfect daughter for the firstborn, right? Wrong. She tends to be arrogant and vain, and clashes terribly with her mother, feeling the she-cat only sees her as 'lineage' and not a child in need of care. This means she acts out against Veata a lot, and then goes running to her father, knowing the tom will comfort her and assure her of her perfection.
Aithne - OPEN - Female Scout Cadet. Daughter of Enya. She is the only child to have willingly broken the mold of profession, and the only child of Enya and Bren. Due to not choosing to be a Mercenary, she has been all but shunned by her family, and both her parents are incredibly harsh with her, which makes her hate them all the more. Rather, she's ended up incredibly impulsive, which caused her to become pregnant as a Cadet by some random tom she didn't really care about, something she's desperately hiding for fear of the unborn kits' safety. Luckily, her best friend, Serefina, has agreed to claim the kits as her own.
Dagan - OPEN - Male Raiser Cadet. Adopted son of Trevet. Son of Adnet. Due to being adopted by Trevet, and choosing the 'appropriate' profession, he hasn't been hassled too much by his family, especially after Trevet's threats if anyone treated him, or his sister, badly. All the same, he can still feel the stares, and often goes running to Adnet, letting his father fawn over him and comfort him, though it's overall detrimental, as he finds it hard to handle any sort of obstacle, and it's unsure how he'll fare as an adult, all on his own.
Bifrost - ADOPTION PAGE - Female Raiser Cadet. Adopted daughter of Trevet. Daughter of Adnet. She is Trevet's pride and joy. She cares for both her parents, but often goes running to her adopted father over Adnet, finding his protectiveness suffocating. Though gentle, she is as stubborn as they come, and would rather die than admit she could be wrong about something.
THE 'OTHERS' - Appearances are up to the rper.
Adnet - ATOMHEART - Male former Guider, now Veteran. Father of Dagan and Bifrost, and Trevet's mate. When his mate died during childbirth, and left him with two newborn kittens, he had to raise them all alone. After meeting Trevet, and falling for him the tom agreed to take the nearly cadet aged kits in as his own, against the warnings and threats of his siblings. The tom is quiet and thoughtful, understanding to combat his mate's stubbornness, but not without being a bit overprotective of his kits, fearing for their safety as they grow up after losing his first mate. The only mate who was born outside the Regime.
Bren - OPEN - Male Mercenary. Enya's mate, and father of Aithne. Unlike his mate, he's refused to give up his duties, despite failing health, and still tries to push their young daughter to change her path from Scout to Mercenary, despite the former being much more needed in the Regime at current. He's like his mate in all the wrong ways, harsh to the point of cruel, and tends to pick fights for the sake of it. Perhaps his only redeeming quality is his deep love for Enya, who he'd do anything for. Anything. Actually a pure blooded Regime cat... unfortunately.
Veata - OPEN - Female Scout. Aquilo's mate, and mother of Mayrah. Currently expecting a second litter. She is sharp and snarky, and can, and will, take anything you throw and turn it back at you in an instant. She's a natural leader, and not above taking charge. She tends to be a bit too hands off with Mayrah, believing in learning from experience to the point of almost being neglectful, and has the emotional capacity of a corpse for her child.
Serefina - OPEN - Female Mercenary Cadet. Aithne's best friend. The family tries to force Aithne to be more like her, as a Mercenary, and Enya often treats her as more a daughter than her actual own child, a fact that Serefina finds incredibly uncomfortable. When Aithne realized she was pregnant, Serefina immediately agreed to take in the kits as her own, knowing they'd be safer that way, and also because she cares deeply for her best friend, who she may also have a crush on, oops. She is incredibly resilient and caring, not beholden to the antics of the family, a good counter for Aithne's recklessness with her own steady support.
