Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
( Open thread for anyone who wants Shule to literally drag your characters back to the Regime to be Scouts, or any other rank you want tbh. xD )
"OKAY! We're going recruiting! And don't take no for an answer, until we have at least six Scouts. Not Scout Cadets, cats capable and willing to be fully fledged Scouts. Other ranks are accepted, too, if they're willing, but we don't stop until we have the Scouts." Maybe Shule had a momentary break from insanity, or maybe the fact that that she was Mercenary Superior, and currently having to do hunting to make sure these cats didn't managed to starve to death was beginning to wear on her, just a tad. Well, regardless of reasoning, she'd dragged along whatever Mercenaries she could, and basically told the only two Scouts to join them, though whether her stepdaughter Laurel and Largo's daughter Lux would actually show up, was another matter entirely. "Don't care if they're clan, kittypet, or rogue. Convince them in any way you can that won't give me another job to do, otherwise I'll be forcing you to hunt the prey you don't even know how to track until I feel like you've done it enough for whatever inconvenience you cause me. GOT IT?"
It was an almost universal expectation that she'd hear the last two words repeated back to her, or she'd start giving out extra duties at a rate that would make their heads spin, and punish the entire group for the action of one. Shule, though she may have, uh, ended up with a few loose screws, maybe due to that explosion a few days ago, didn't take disobedience as an answer. Everything was 'Yes, Superior,' 'No, Superior,' or 'I don't understand, Superior,' with the white pawed ebony feline. Not even Gossamer could stop her from demanding that respect and courtesy she'd force upon them.
"WOOH! That's my wife up there," Sean said, overly supportive as always. It didn't help that Sean found Shule ten times more attractive when she yelled at him or pummeled some guys face to the ground. He claimed it was an authentic trait about her whatever that meant. "I'm going to find the best people," He proclaimed racing off.
Innocentia had been out hunting so she was farther away from home than usual. It was too bad the Survival Clans weren't around anymore, she remembered how she loved seafood, now they were all gone. The thought made her stomach growl as she let out a discontent whine, maybe she should have hunted with one of her friends like Omega or Driscal. Then they could bring her catches back home for her to at later. She was a tiny white she-cat, the size of a kit with cartoonishly large pink bow fastened around the back of her neck with a shiny golden bell at the front. She looked like a kittypet and while she also looked young she was far from it, years old even. Her paw snatched up a mouse on instinct, holding the little guy by its tail. She gave a disgusted look, was she really so hungry that she had to snack on this little thing instead of bigger game? She heard a sound from behind her suddenly and placed the mouse down, although he was still stuck in her claws. Maybe it was the sound of lunch approaching after all!
Well, Shule had been hoping to keep a bit more together, but perhaps she should have made that a touch more clear. Of course, Sean would have only brought trouble, as much as she loved her mate, so she didn't bother calling out to him, rather waving the rest to spread out a bit. Guess the more ground they covered the better, though she hoped they'd stay close enough for help in the event of an emergency.
As it so happened, the first cat she found was perhaps the least useful of them all. A tiny white kitten looking cat that for some reason seemed a bit familiar to the Superior. Perhaps she'd seen the other in passing, or met her and forgotten, but regardless, she felt as though this wasn't the first time she'd seen this kittypet looking cat. Regardless, she approached at a moderate pace. "You there." Shule called, her eyes drifting to the mouse in her claws. "Come with me." Though her gaze told her this was a quite young cat, a little thought in the back of her mind cautioned her that she shouldn't assume so quickly. Maybe she was just overthinking things.
"Why?" Innocentia asked, sitting up, her white fur puffing up a bit, "I don't usually talk to strangers," She said matter of factly and already knew she that for as delicious as Shule looked that she likely wouldn't be fast enough to kill her to make her a meal. For as much as she loved healthy cats the muscular ones were always the hardest to tear through the flesh and also very chewy. She held up the still alive mouse, "How about you recruit little Squeaks here to tag along with you instead."
"You can hunt, right? If so, you're joining the Regime as a Scout. We need the help, and you look like you need to be toughened up. SO, up you go, come on." Nearing, Shule with a surprising gentleness picked up the she-cat by the scruff and turned to walk away. Okay, maybe this wasn't the way to get on a cat's good side. Buut, clearly she could hunt well enough, oops if this was technically a kidnapping. Kitnapping, maybe? No, she sounded wrong for a kit.
Innocentia was about to put Squeakers down gently but let him down a bit more roughly feeling Shule pick her up and her paws catching on air, "Hey!" She squirmed a little before finding the effort of struggling to be uncomfortable. "I don't wanna be a scout," Innocentia mumbled to herself.
Sean walked back to Shule panting, "I couldn't drag this fat cat over to us, but now that," he took a breath, "My brains catching up with me, I think he was too chunky to actually catch anything. Like I'm not exaggerating," He dragged a paw over his forehead, "Phew, I'm tired. Aw you found a kitten!"
"Yes and my name is-"
"OH, let's name her Amarine, that's such a cute name, Amarine's gonna be the cutest little scout," Sean adored before looking back at Shule and not paying attention to Innocentia's disgust, "So I was thinking we could stop by SunClan, if we can spy out Duskslayer he can help us. Or y'know we can drag him, we're his parents, all perfectly legal," He laughed.
"Sure, Amarine. Though I'm not sure she's a kitten, she had a mouse well enough in her grasp when I found her." Shule answered, the white she-cat almost forgotten at the mention of her son. "Yes, let's pay him a visit. Probably wouldn't be wise to drag him, since we don't want SunClan on our paws again. And if he's anything like us, he will probably be a bit hard to drag anyhow. But we may as well go and see if we can get him out of the cult. Hopefully he'll listen to reason."
If she noticed Innocentia's disgust, she didn't pay attention, already turning towards SunClan, whiskers twitching in slight amusement at the image of her mate trying to drag some fat kittypet over.
It was by the time they got to SunClan's border that Innocentia's scruff began to feel sore from being carried for so long, "Okay, I'll be a scout for a day, just put me down?"
Sean tasted the air and was disappointed to find a patrol had just recently passed, they may have already missed their chances of seeing Dusky. He sat down waiting a moment, it wasn't a brisk walk getting here, after all. If they sat down, caught their breaths, maybe they would end up seeing him.
Nearby Duskslayer was following the scent of a rabbit and when it led to the border he figured he would just go into rogue country and get it anyways, but instead he came out from the tall grass face to face with Sean and Shule. He had to blink once or twice to make sure he wasn't dreaming, Dreams was his zodiac, but they were really there. He wanted to keep a stiff reaction until he could match whatever mood of the moment was, but he couldn't help, but smile at them, "Hey, it's good to see you two!" He purred walking out from the tall grass and over to them, "What brings you to SunClan?" He tried to keep his fur down and his gaze relaxed, but his heart beat fast, maybe they ran away and wanted to join SunClan!

"It's not only for a day, and if you try and run, I will pick you up again." Shule warned, setting the she-cat down and narrowing her eyes at the little thing a fraction.
Of course, that didn't last long as her expression turned almost instantly into a rare sort of smile as she spotted her son. "We wanted to see how you were doing." Not a lie, but it clearly wasn't the entire story, though the Superior wasn't in the business of burying the lede, so she continued on. "We were also hoping you'd maybe stay in the Regime for a few weeks. I hate to have to ask anything of you, especially when I'd rather just catch up, but we're low on Scouts, and we could use another hunter like you." Shule did really look displeased with the idea of asking Dusky for help, though one couldn't entirely be sure if it was because she didn't like begging for help, or because she really didn't want to be pressuring her son into something.
Elyon was disappointed. She'd had a great hunt in twolegplace, found a great catch she was sure Innocentia would love to sink her teeth into. And then Innocentia was nowhere to be found.
The golden she cat stowed her disappointment for now, she'd just have to go look for Innocentia. She hadn't told the white she cat she had plans to bring her a nice meal after all! So Innocentia had probably gone off hunting herself.
Realizing that was the likely circumstances Elyon had headed out to track down Innocentia. Which meant picking up what she could of Innocentia's trail and going with it. But she was a trained assassin, she was good at hunting things down.
This time there wouldn't be a killing at the end of it. Unless Innocentia wanted some help hunting, then there would be.
///---///
It hadn't been a training day, but Radiantpaw had decided to follow her mentor anyways. She could proudly say she'd only gotten a little bit distracted along the way. But her frequent stops had ensured her mentor was none the wiser of her presence. Moreso due to Radiantpaw being far behind her mentor and simply tracking his trail that he wasn't trying to hide, but she felt it a point of pride.
Then she crouched down when she heard her mentor talking to someone. She poked her head up and her eyes lit up. Intruders! She could show her mentor how good of an ambusher she was.
She looked around, in her mind planning to snatch up some berries. Except she found none.
Right. Leafbare.
Well the little pebble there would have to do.
Radiantpaw scooped up the pebble into her paw, bouncing it once before she chucked it.
"I know that and I'm only saying I'm going to be obedient for a day," Innocentia corrected, but walked beside them and stopped at SunClan's border. That made sense, she liked it when a clan would fight her, but SunClan cats just literally dragged her off of their property like a kit. Suddenly a familiar face peaked into view and at the sight of Duskslayer Innocentia exclaimed, "Ryou!" which seemed to instantly startled him, probably because his eye level hadn't looked that low to notice her. Innocentia dove forward nuzzling into Duskslayer.
Sean looked confused, but even more confused when he felt a pebble whack into the side of his head. He looked in the direction it was flung in and seeing nothing he ignored it. Duskslayer's gaze, however followed the pebble over to where Radiantpaw was hiding and then looked back at his parents and then back at Innocentia and suddenly felt like every side narrative in his life was falling down onto him. For one, Shule was never ever supposed to know that Glowstar years ago had agreed to give away her first born son of the next litter she had to Innocentia. Never believing she could have kits again, so when he was born Innocentia kidnapped him, starting a long custody battle that ended with the agreement that Innocentia had him on weekends and league holidays.
Then there was the fact that he was always meant to be a Regime cat, but had chosen to stay in SunClan. He was close to his father and sister and liked he was in walking distance to visit Cinnamonsavage. All of his friends were in SunClan too and he had just gotten his very first apprentice and he had to hope that was his apprentice up there and not a stereotypical fully grown SunClan cat being childish and whipping pebbles at his parents.
"Um." Duskslayer began, trying to find a way to keep Glowstar's secret, not have Innocentia tell, not make it look like he was deserting SunClan in front of a SunClan cat, and help his parents.
"Wow, you look so cute," Duskslayer said to Innocentia nuzzling her to appease the tiny she-cat for the time being. He considered doing something convoluted, but instead looking back where the pebble came he looked back to his parents and decided to just be honest, "I want to help, but someone up there is watching me. I'm not really sure what to do." He left out the part that this was breaking SunClan's code, he wanted to help and he was okay breaking it, but wasn't sure if it his parents would be okay with it or let him go back home if they knew.
(Human Dusky should have smoke bombs for moments like these xD)
