Thane savored the perfect moments when her legs stopped but her heart pushed on, the harmonious calm when it finally gave up. He had a thing for blonds. Golden fur and bonus points if they had lily green eyes. They always had such a striking resemblance to Cyra. The one he called his dearest sister. Then again, Cyra did steal his chance at being Warden. Standing, he turned his rigid face to the view behind him. The silence was deafening. His ear twitched, irritated he called out, "What is this, an ambush?" He teased, there wasn't a hint of humor in his voice.
Thane loomed like a shadow. He had the scent of cold steel, faint and strange and out of place. He was the eldest kit of Vera's and knew full well that his siblings wouldn't turn on one another unless they wanted to be at the mercy of their mother. Although he clearly ran off with an outsider from time to time he hadn't abandoned his mother like the other siblings in his litter. He had remained loyal by his mothers side and never went astray. Choosing family over love. It was bound to annoy people who had been waiting so patiently for what he had.

"Nice kill," meowed a feline with a single eyebrow raised. Of course, the similarities between this cat and the Vera bloodline were noticable. Well, except for the part that most of the E'tani bloodline was not... how do you say it nicely? Was not dead. "Execution could have been better, but you win some and you lose some."
The voice came from a she-cat who bore the bengal pelt, but did so in a different way. She was the one that had always been the outsider. She had been the first incarnation of the old Pravian legend that nothing good came from the dark pelt. She was the first charcoal that Vera had birthed, the first warning that the scourge of the earth was coming. Of course, she had never liked the title until the MoonClan Devistation, where her paws twitched in the blood of the defenseless. That was the moment that the small feline had broke, the humanity leaving her. It was the moment that was the first moment before the end.
The end had been prolonged, though. She had lost her title as the only one. There was hate in her heart at this idea; Hawthor was nothing compared to she. He was an insignificant speck. Yet, his entire existence had thrown her equilibrium off balance. She was no longer the only feline that the rumors swirled about. She was no longer the sole heir to the throne of chaos, of destruction. She, unlike Thane, didn't have strong loyalties to her family. Perhaps that was the curse of the dark pelt.
"Green with jealousy isn't a good a good color on you, Sylv," Thane said, his claw gently cleaning off the other one.
It was almost an insult for Thane to call any sibling by their name, he gave them each nicknames, not always good ones, but anyone who meant anything always got a name. She didn't have a name, she was nothing and likely, Sylv didn't care which worked for him. He never particularly knew Sylv and if he didn't know her then she wasn't exactly important enough for him to bother knowing her well. All he did know was that she was bad new or something of the sort by her fur color. He didn't know if he believed it, but because his mother did on some level he found himself a bit at unease. It took a lot for his mom to feel concern so it felt foolish not to find his hair raise just a bit at the sight of her.
"I guess it's a better color than black bengal though."

The laugh that exited her mouth sparkled. It would have been an enchanting noise, had it not been paired with a gaze that was frightfully haunting. She flicked her tail in amusement. Did Thane particularly believe the words that came out of his mouth? What did she have to be jealous of? The fact that he was being played by their mother? At least her relationship with Vera was one of mutual understanding. The two had been close when she was younger, so close that sometimes Sylv could remember warmth of her mother's body pressed against hers. Of course, it had been moons since Vera grew close to anyone, even her kittens. Sylv had been fine that their relationship had sizzled when Vera E'tani broke. It was easier to be distant than have to play the game that her promoted siblings had to.
"You should be jealous of me, if you knew what was good for you," she mused, her tone almost a purr. "At least the entire world doesn't get a chance to walk over me."
A ghost of amusement traced the proxies face, "You're too cute for this family. I can't imagine being jealous of a runt, black demon, bad girl wannabe like yourself. I'm what darkness actually looks like, I don't have your adorable quips or deceivingly cute looks. If I look like every other cat good, if I look like a monster even better. It doesn't matter because I'll tear anyone apart and I don't need a creative new take on being a villain like your whole mean girl facade that I could never be jealous of because it's just as fake as the lore that you're a demon."
Thane walked past his sister, he couldn't say anything about Sylv's experiences or personality, he honestly didn't even know her enough to really get upset. The only thing that did peak his curiosity was that he was walked over... But who said that?
