@samiam Funk E'tan's eyes snapped open, lifting to his feet and starting out of his den when he paused. Staring down at his paws, he let out a sigh. After loosing two of his proxies, he had taken over their districts for the limited time, but now they really didn't need his guidance anymore. Well, they never particularly needed it, but he still needed to keep them in check. Of course, he didn't need to do that anymore, so the urgency in having to go tell Foreign Affairs their orders was gone. It was a lazy evening, the setting sun dying the church in an orange light as the Nemesis sat down, staring lazily over the few cats that mingled around.
Sure, he knew coming here and incorporating Absum Lux would be a pain, but it was more of one than he thought. Though he supposed coming onto someone's land and stripping them of the fragments of their culture was stressful for them. Not that he thought it would be for him. And to think, he actually took the deal to get away from the stress the manor gave him. It wasn't something that was shook very easily, must be something with leadership and all that. He was almost there, right on the edge of letting back go, forgetting all these duties and roles and what to do and what not to do. Maybe even claiming that fragment of himself he missed for so long, but he needed that extra push. His mouth twitched as he stood back up. He couldn't stay here.

Lux had always had a special talent for showing up when he wasn't wanted, admittedly that seemed to be always but, it never really bothered him. He had gotten used to the cold looks he got from most of the league and the even colder looks he got from his his once fellow proxies. He would of liked to believe that one day he would be fully accepted back but, he highly doubted that would ever happen, yet it still didnt bring him down or even stop him from trying.
"Are you heading out? Perfect I'll join you!" He shouted, hurrying after Funk before the Nemesis could make any sort of quick get away. "Where are we going? I know this interesting place, good music the food could be better but, beggars can't be choosers now can they?" He rambled on as they walked ignoring the others obvious bad mood as if he was oblivious to it.

Devil's certainly make for the best company.
Funk wasn't as acquainted with Lux as his proxies were, but he didn't mind the dark tom. One after his own heart, least that was the impression he got. Who always showed up when he wasn't wanted, who came and went as he pleased. And, as Funk's siblings called him, a flirt. A mirror almost, if you traded out his knowledge of herbs and passion for medicine and extreme handsomeness for... whatever Lux had going for him. He didn't really know, but it appeared he'd get to learn.
It wasn't who Funk would have thought of joined him this evening. The Nemesis was okay with that, his classic mischievous smirk spreading across his face, "I don't see why not, Lux. Though are you that desperate for a good time, you'll go to a hangout with your Nemesis?" Really, he didn't know a lot of places around so he appreciated the recommendation. And he already ate, so win-win.

"Love, I'm always desperate for a good time, I'm not overly picky of whom I hang out with so long as they aren't too terribly boring" He winked at him, flashing that devilish grin of his. Sometimes it was hard to tell if Lux was genuinely this happy all the time or just playing a role. He didn't like opening up to people, sure it made him seem shallow to most but, if his overly chipper attitude didn't win someone over where they really worth the company.
"Where were you headed anyway? I don't want to thread on your tail if you've already got plans."

Yeah, no kidding there. The Nemesis didn't overly care if the Lux in front of him was actually Lux or some complex mask he always put on. Funk was mainly happy he didn't have to go at this alone. Even if it would have been easier. Still, love? That was new. "Anywhere more alive than here." Funk said as they left the church, paws dragging down the concrete stairs, "I figured one of the twoleg clubs that keeps them up all night. That's a familiar scene for you, right?" He purred, returning the smile. He had no plans, just to get back into old habits.

"Almost more familiar than what we'd consider 'home' I suppose. His smile faltered but, didnt fade as he kept up his stride "Though if familiarity is born mb g to you perhaps we should look for a new scene. 0lenty of clubs and things to do in a city at night if you look for it. Who knows, we might stumble upon an underground gambling ring of cats in the sewer. Now that would be exciting!"

He guessed that. For as much as the League travelled, he was surprised some of them thought of what a home was. Funk never did when he was travelling. And if he did, he would leave it as soon as possible. If anything felt like home, it was this. The rough asphalt under his paws, the honking of cars and the chattering of humans, the outstretched hands and the beer cans thrown at him. All in a good days work. The more the League explored the city, the more things they found. He was sure a gambling ring was around, especially since it seemed some would buy his herbs for it.
He wouldn't tell Lux that though. And simply smiled, "Sounds good to me. Though do you have anything to put on the table besides yourself?"

"As if I'd need to bring anything to the table other than myself!" he scoffed in mock offense, his grin only faltering ever so slightly. Howver if you insist I can provide excellent entertainment should the need arise for it."

"Very true there." Funk smiled lightly, amusement twinkling in his eyes. He'd pay to see that, but he might not have to if tonight went that way. "Then I look forward to it. Should we need it, of course." The city was full of things, they had to find something to get their minds off work and whatnot.

Yes, there was plenty to do in the city at night. The streets were alive and packed with people by the dozens, trying to get into the clubs and various restaurants that lined the streets. It was also loud, very loud something Lux had grown used to. These nights were never for talking any how, they were about dancing and losing yourself in the crowd. He didn't know how well versed the nemesis was in this kind of thing but, he didn't want to underestimate a cat who could easily drug and drag him off into the night before he even realized what happened.
"There's probably no need for me to say this but, lets lay down some basic ground rules shall we?" Even though he was addressing his leader, the proxy spoke with a confidence and arrogance that most would never dare of in his situation. Did Funk scare him? Absolutely. Would he ever show or admit it? Never.
"One, don't drink anything you didn't get for yourself."

(i did not lose this thread at all)
Funk was glad to be back in the city, back in a place where he could lose himself in the noise. It wasn't the matter, there was no deafening silence that held the place still in time. It now felt like he could breathe again. For as much work as he had, as much as everyone gave him constant grief. He was better here than there. Better home.
Lux was right, there was no need for him to establish any basic ground rules. The proxy's confidence made Funk smile, just a little. He was the best choice for tonight, by a mile. "Two, drink everything I give you." The Nemesis laughed darkly as he weaved through the feet of people, "and Three, don't kiss and tell. We ought to have a little class, after all."
