Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

What if we did stick to the nomination system, with the understanding that you do NOT message friends to nominate you, and you are only allowed to nominate a certain amount of users. You can also not nominate yourself, and we could even do a process of elimination. Like so [ link ]. Sorry for my absolute weeb self but I couldn't remember what its called, and this is the idea I got it from. Its an idea, but definitely open to critique.

This thread is confusing me a lot tbh - are you guys wanting to delete the survival clans as we offered? Do you want to remove all clans and start fresh? If so, what's the plan for that? Are you asking to move and make your own site with your own staff? I can't tell what ideas you guys actually want, there doesn't seem a lot of agreement on the actual details, just that you want change - maybe new clans, maybe new staff, maybe both.
Also it looks like some of them have chimed in, but just a reminder this thread is only a few hours old - our admins are busy, please give them time to respond before you start thinking they're ignoring your ideas. They're good at their job and they are going to listen to you!
(and that goes for the other users too, not everyone has seen this yet and they'll have good ideas to share for whatever you're doing too)
edit: oh man why were there like 12 posts while i was typing this what even
10 responses all 10 are for start for scratch everyone agrees 4-6 clans. majority agrees 4 clans, 2 groups
Is there anything else you wish to add? 8 responses -Nothing, besides figuring out how Leaders & Deputies would be chosen. -We should have a democracy type system, where we the members vote for who gets to be leader etc. -We can start from scratch, but unless the entire staff is willing to give up their power including the administration we will never truly be able to have a fresh start. I hope the administrators considers the right thing, which is stepping down, and letting the system keep take its course on whether or not they should keep their jobs. We can reboot the clans, but if the administration is the same nothing will truly change. It will be the same toxic classic just with a new skin. -Just that I admire you for doing your best to help despite how hard it must be
i should make a separate thread for this shouldn't i

Its a start though, not to mention more people can always vote on it. Would also like to mention I'm sure some users are currently offline but watching anonymously, seeing as there are roughly 30+ people viewing this subboard specifically.

I would like to point out that this is a very personal statement. The system is not toxic because the admins who are admins now. We are living with the same system that was created before us. We did not do this to you or to anyone. I dont hold this position becasue im a power hungry monster. I hold this position because someone thought I was capable of doing it and was one of the only poeple who stepped up when the offer was made. We want chnage as much as anyone else. But punishing us because you want to blame us is hurtful and uncalled for. I dont knwo who originally made this statement but it feels very personal and bash at all of us admins who have done nothing mroe than our best and are trying our best every day to work and not just play. If you want a better system dont hang the staff hang the system. Work with the staff to make it better dont crucify the people who who can help that happen. Many of us admins are brand new and have not even had a chnace to properly show what we are capable of doing for the site. I am very hurt and while i try very hard not to take things personally my leadership in wic has been called out and now my place as an admin. i feel physically attacked.

I agree with Rika. This has only been posted today. Though we want to hear from the admins, this process will take a while to come to fruition.
I will, however, say that should this in the end be swept under the rug for any reason associated with this thread and its members who have dutifully posted to it and looked for a solution having been influenced by mass hysteria or there not being enough supporters to justify doing anything about fixing the site, I will happily leave Classic behind for the unforeseeable future and create my own where such bias cannot be used to influence or make decisions.
We're all very passionate, it's what makes us who we are.

By the way, since this thread has gotten so hectic, I feel as though someone should probably make a general summary of what is going on, what the current ideas are, etc. People don't want to read 100+ responses when they wake up or get onto the site, and it's difficult to follow unless you have the time to sit here and watch as it unfolds.
I would also like to state that no one is being attacked at the moment. We are all just throwing out ideas. We might use the ideas. We might not. That is why there is a discussion. Everyone please try not to take anything said here personally ❤️
In order to start a new future I think it’s important we brainstorm a game plan. Of course this would all be decided after a survey and a vote and then discussed among the staff for what the parameters would be, but there's nothing wrong with thinking ahead a little!
Checklist for a Restart - Agreeing on a successful clan criteria/ preventative measures to ensure a clan remains stable, well, and helped [1 week] - Sign ups for staff members to remain on the team [hopefully less than a week] - Figuring out how to keep roleplay going [hopefully less than a week] - Figuring out a criteria for a clan contest [2-4 days] - Making a clan contest [2 weeks] - Figuring out who should be leader and how to figure that out [2 weeks] - Creating new layouts for the clans [indefinite]
SUCCESSFUL CLAN CRITERIA One of them should be establishing what a successful clan should look like. If we brought in new clans, but neglect to come up with a criteria on what makes them successful we could come back into this same conversation again. But if we had a criteria to checkmark when to begin to worry about a clan or if deletion needs to come up we’d be more prepared in the future to recognize the signs.
I made up a list, but I’d like feedback so we can change it according to everyone’s input
An Active Clan: Members: 10 or more Posts Per Clan: 50 or more Should the clans fail to meet this it could become an alert. Once you get four alerts a discussion will be brought up to help solve why the clans not doing well. Sometimes it’ll be because their are leader tryouts, other times it might be finals week and things are just slow. But if the clan continuously struggle and the discussion agrees clan deletion needs to be considered there will be a site wide vote to decide if the clan is deleted or not. (There would also be ways to work off alerts because clans falter sometimes and that’s okay)
STAFF MEMBERS If we decide to get rid of all the clans and now we have to rewrite everything we’re going to need more staff than just the admins and helper mods. We’ll need passionate moderators who are willing to stay aboard to help out! There will need to be sign ups if such a thing is decided. There's a lot to take care of, storing the forums, making sure we save everyone's cats biographies and keeping them in a well organized place to fish out later.
THE NO ROLEPLAY PERIOD The no roleplay period during this time would be very rough. With school having started we might have to extend the clan contest to a week in a half or more to give everyone time to get their ideas in without being stressed. After that, we'll have to figure out a way to choose leaders which should probably take two weeks. I’m guessing that every person who wants to be a leader can write a little bit about themselves, this way if people are a bit newer they have a chance for the community to know them.
AFTER THE LEADER VOTE/ CLAN DECISION Because many of us agreed that not everyone's good at layouts it would be unfair to ask for a layout in the clan creation contest. But because we agreed to that we now have to code layouts to whatever was decided. Plus we can’t start making layouts early because the clan leader probably would want a say in how they want the layout designed. Because of this there unfortunately wouldn’t be a members page for a time being, but maybe joining threads can get started. Layouts can take 1-2 weeks depending on what the leader wants and how much time the coder has. During this time some of us might already be neck deep in school and given the limited coders we might struggle a little here so we’ll just have to be prepared.
Worst case scenario is we’ll be without roleplay for over a month (It'll definitely take a month) so we’ll definitely want to think of something to do in the meantime so we don’t lose members if this ends up happening.

I dont try to take things persoanlly but i have done very little to defend myself in the last few days since this all started and i think i have a right to finally do so. Especially when all ive been getting is personally swept under the rug trying to make everyone happy. So if anyone is upset with my words then take it as a suggestion not soemone hurt and upset at their recent treatment in general being confronted.
I would like to point out that nobody is wanting to attack the Admin team by any means. We're all people who have lives, and yes, some of you are new. However some of you aren't, and the thing people are upset about is that given the current staff, this particular situation has been swept under the rug multiple times. I think the concern is that an Admin team should be unbiased to having a favorite Clan etc and not wanting it deleted. An Admin team should and always should want the better for the site, which is currently being voice again by a much more major amount of people. Especially when its coming form new members, with fresh eyes and opinions.
Also, to you Prim, nobody is attacking you specifically either. Or at least I am not. But it is frustrating if you look at it from other peoples perspective. You weren't the only person to step up for the position who would be good at what an OM does, and you have previously been OM before and demoted. Its not an attack its just a bit of blunt Criticism which if I'm being honest, its hard to politely Criticize someone with such a delicate situation.

I was not demoted. I chose to step down as the rules say because life was gettign in the way and it was unfair to sit on a position when i coudlnt do my job.

I'd also like to add on to Faith's post, there are tons of people who had offered to help even if they aren't going to roleplay. We're all very passionate about change happening, so that in itself shouldn't be to hard. We just want to see a bit of progress, even if its just a smidgen of it.

Alright I'm sorry I didn't know that, it was only to my knowledge but I apologize for overstepping.
