( Alright! So some backstory. The parents of these kits are Kyros and Idylla, Kyros being the Mercenary child of Sean & Abiliana two former Commanders, Idylla being a Regime pureblood and Raiser. They were the perfect pair, the golden couple in everyone's eyes. Idylla became pregnant and had a beautiful litter of eight, who they decided to take above ground for an outing to celebrate the kits reaching their first moon. These tykes were some of the most well behaved in the Regime, intelligent and ambitious, but kind an empathetic, at least on their face.
However, this perfect family couldn't last. A few hours after they'd left, someone went to check up on them, only to find Kyros & Idylla dead, along with half the litter of kits, the other half just barely clinging to life. Poisoned. Thanks to their cousin, Emiko, these kits survived, though not without some complications and she took them under her wing as her own, just as Sean and Shule had done when her father, Kotori gave her to the Regime.
Due to recent events, Foxstar is the main suspect in this crime, but thus far, the Regime hasn't been able to explain how she managed it, especially with the Mercenaries who guard her vouching for the fact she hasn't moved an inch from her place in the prison.
But who else would go so far as to kill a mother and their kits? Is the rest of SunClan really that cruel? Or does Foxstar have someone in the Regime tangled in her grasp? )
THE DECEASED :
KYROS - The litter's father, son of Sean & Abiliana. A golden child in his own right, strong and kind in all things.
IDYLLA - The litter's mother, a pureblooded Raiser who embodies a gentle spirit, calm and thoughtful.
ASA - Near her father's clone in appearance, with bright gilded fur and sky blue eyes. Warm and energetic. Had wanted to be a Guider.
KIYO - A beautiful auburn streaked she-cat of gold, with eyes that were an enchanting stony gray. Strong and sarcastic. Had wanted to be a Mercenary.
RAIDYN - A white tom with gilded russet lightning streaks throughout his fur, eyes a deep gilded blue. Bright and adventurous. Had no idea which path to take, but was always curious.
ZINAN - A auburn and russet swirled tom, the largest of the deceased kits, with one silver eye, and one gilded one of exotic green. Innocent and optimistic. Had wanted to be a Raiser.
THE LIVING : All have thick fur, and are fairly tall.
KEKET / NAIAD - Prior to being poisoned, Amasia was the life of any game or event. Charismatic and social, a cat who believed in the good of others. Since being taken under Emiko, her heart has taken a different turn. Though the mask of kindness stands, she tries in vain to search out the one who killed her family. This is made difficult, however, by the fact her memory is hazy at best. She has a difficult time remembering much of anything, save her one goal, to her eternal frustration. A light gilded golden she-cat with cracked lace of auburn and white swirls running down her spine. Her eyes are a shattered silver, lines of ashen gray running out from the center.
Name meaning: goddess of darkness. | Had been closest to Raidyn.
HAVILAH / JADIE - He was never much of a kind cat anyway, despite appearances. He, like his father, clings to the image of perfection, willing even to kill to keep up his reputation. The death of his family shattered this, however, and sent him spiraling. It killed a part of him, and he has difficulty empathizing with others, or understanding things he's done wrong. He tries in vain to bring back the image of perfection, but when it's hard to even feel a connection to one's own family, let alone others, it's not the easiest thing in the world. Shimmery auburn waves cloak his body, white lightning running up his legs and creeping up the right side of his face, giving him the appearance of a broken china doll. His eyes are an extremely dark exotic green, only the barest gilded layer shimmering over them like a forest blanketed in fairy dust.
Name meaning: the pain that one brings. | Had been closest to Kiyo.
BREASAL / HONEYSTORM - Once much like her mother, soft and sweet with a pure heart of gold, the poison messed up her mind less than her body. She gets terrible migraines and spells of dizziness and vertigo that leave her in an almost constant state of pain. This has affected her mentally as well, the gentleness fading into one who is defensive and snappy, and after a certain point, cats have stopped being sympathetic to the pain she feels, unable to understand just how debilitating it is. A white she-cat with russet undercoat that gives her an almost pinkish appearance, swirls of warm auburn written across the bottom of her jaw, down her throat and trailing along her belly. Her eyes are her father's sky blue, gilded flecks appearing in the darkness of night.
Name meaning: pain. | Had been closest to Idylla & Zinan.
MARJA / Phantom - Her father's favorite child, the most flawless of them all. Exceptionally tall and graceful, with an encouraging word for all, the glue that keeps her siblings together. Outwardly, she is the only one who was unaffected by the effects of the poison or death of her family, beyond a standard expectation of grief, the only one able to move on and thrive. But it's not all fun and games. Constantly fatigued as a result of the effects of the poison, it is all she can do to keep her family together while they seem so fragmented, to advocate for her them, and try to move forward. Plagued by nightmares of her parents' dead bodies, of the rest of her family dying, she is inwardly anxious at all turns, always on the edge of shattering due to giving everyone else her all. A half and half feline of dark gilded fur to the left side of her and russet russet to the right, with auburn wisps caressing her entire body and lining gilded sea green eyes.
Name meaning: the sadness of the sea. | Had been closest to Kyros & Asa.
No one could pinpoint what happened. One moment, the family was alive, and mere hours later, they were found, dead or nearly so, by a wayward Mercenary who wanted to ensure they were alright. Four of the kits were in critical condition in the Guider, and the rest had been gathered, currently being prepared for burial. To most, the culprit was an easy choice. Foxstar had already tried to escape once, killing her guards in the process, and allowing one of their prisoners, Kotori, to escape as a result. And yet, the guards, thus far, had sworn up and down that there was no way the High Priestess had contact with anyone to get or administer such a poison, and there was no SunClan scent anywhere near those who had been killed.
Emiko, for her part, wasn't focused on the rumors. The Guider, these tiny kits' cousin, was focused on saving their lives. The moon old kits, only just weaned, were barely clinging on, and the tyke sized bengal was absolutely determined that they would live. She'd staked her entire career on it. They would live. By the Blind Protector she would ensure it.
The cause was easy. Poison. There was no sign of illness in any of them before today, not one single scratch on their bodies to indicate a surprise attack. But with it having taken hold of their systems already, it was a race against time. Though small, the feline flew around the Garden, picking herbs and using other Guiders as stepping stools if they weren't quick enough to move. She had children to save. They'd survive someone of her size balancing on their spines for a few heartbeats.
"Thank the Blind Protector." She breathed a few moments later, her sweet, childish voice bringing an air of relief to the Garden itself, as those within realized that the four living kits had stabilized. They would make it. Emiko may have been Kotori and Cyra's daughter, the child of a murderer and a league warden, but she was the sweetest cat you would ever meet. Sean and Shule, who her father had given her to, to be raised in the Regime, had turned every expectation on it's head. And if this didn't prove it, nothing would. Going out of her way to save her own family, of promising to look after the four kittens as if they were her own children.
But it wasn't her, or her success in saving the kits that mattered. It was that the kits would be alive, that even now, when they'd lost everything, someone was still going to look after them. Emiko neither expected, nor wanted any praise for it. She just wanted these kits to have stability and love as they grew up in a world where the light had been stripped away from them.
