Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The black she-cat, small as she was only the age of a kadet nearing her promotion, padded along the ridge above the den of the Tsar, where she took a seat upon a pile of rubble and gazed down upon those beneath her. Her green eyes were narrowed, calculating, and only after a moment did she part her maw and bellow.
"Those who wish not to be punished will gather here for a meeting of great importance!"
She wasn't exactly eloquent, but what did it matter? She had the power to rule now. They would respect her or die trying to move against her. She ground her teeth behind closed lips, a smirk playing upon the corners. She was a dedicate of Devonei. She demanded order. Of course, with her new promotion as Tsar, she was also a dedicate of Nivet which meant balance. All things in moderation, as it were. Which meant she was entitled to just a little bit of chaos.
"It has come to my attention that we have a traitor in our midst." Her green gaze roved over every individual. "They have broken one of our cardinal laws: those of Ut Religiousness may not bond with another or give life to dependents. Declan, our once High Priest, has broken his vow of chastity and taken a mate, resulting in the birth of children. As is determined by the Constitution, he will face trial and punishment. Before consequences are determined, however, he will be given a chance at defending himself against the prosecution."

Declan looked up from his place to the front and side of the crowed. Put on display for the Tsar's display of power. He had seen the insanity int he eyes of the last three Tsars Loki being one of them. But he coudln't blame her for his current predicament.
"With the unsolved murder of my sister, Catriona, and the slaughter of my brother Emmet and sister Roisin, I found no comfort in our religion. Nothing but cold emptiness. I am not ashamed to say I found comfort and contact with another of our kind. Found warmth and understanding. Found acceptance and awakening. I am not ashamed to claim these kittens," he glanced in the distance where his mate was with his children that he couldn't see. "Gemini, Sagittarius, Aquarius, and Capricorn." They are a gift and this clan is lucky to have them. Halsey will be a great mother and I will lover them all even beyond your punishment." He turned his haunted sharp blue gaze across those gathered and back to Loki. "I plead guilty to no crime. Because love is not a crime."
Her green gaze was hard as she stared down upon the High Priest, his words igniting a fire within her. He had gone against the law and yet he was spouting some nonsense about love? She was waiting for hearts to erupt from his eyes as he looked at the she-cat and children across the clearing and wanted to make a show of disgust but kept her composure. Deep within, she wondered if she would feel the same toward her own love. If Thoren was on the stand... But no. Thoren would never go against the Constitution or her. He cared for her. Respected her. Would always be there for her. She was within her right.
Halsey found herself hiccuping back another sob as she stared at the tom across from the clearing. She'd finally found someone she cared for and he was being taken from her again. She stood up, tail lashing. What more could hurt her if she tried to defend him? She glanced at the kittens beside her.
Loki inhaled a deep breath and lifted her head to the heavens above. "You plead guilty to no crime and yet make evident the crime you've committed with your own words. I call for a vote." She looked at those members who had gathered before her.

One cat stood up from the center of the gathering. His charming gaze seeming bored his dark ginger pelt like old flames. "I vote Guilty and worth of death!" He yowled to be heard over the whispers of the crowd. Calibur sat back down.
Halsey inhaled a pained breath. It was now or never. "No!" She took a step forward. "He is innocent! He's done nothing wrong! There was a time when love was free for all and never judged. Why has it come to this? Have we all forgotten morality?"
Loki raised her chin, annoyance sparking in her eyes. "You lost your right to a vote when you became one of the perpetrators of the crime. Your trial will be next."
Halsey blinked in surprise but grit her teeth, choosing to pad over to her love and the father of their children. If she was going to face her own punishment, undoubtedly death as well judging by how this conference was going, she was going to spend her last moments at his side. She looked over at their children, beckoning them over.
A white she-cat named Mirana stepped in the way of the children. "If you bring them over there, you're condemning them just as you've condemned yourselves. I vote guilty." She winced. "Even if it pains me."

Declan's heart broke as Halsey joined him. "They need you more than I do." he meowed to her, though he was thankful for her pelt brushing his. "I can take this burden for us both and you can save my legacy. Raise them in the old ways." his words were only heard by her but the crowed could tell he was pleading with her. Any life was a good life so long as it was life.
Gemini blinked beside her siblings. Her small frame shivering as she watched with confusion, too young to understand. One golden eyes like her mothers the other a water blue like her fathers.
Declan looked to the crowed "Halsey was not part of this. She gave in to her High Priest because it was asked of her. She is not to blame. I alone sinned."
Sagittarius, a young she-kit herself who was usually so vibrant and energetic, found herself pressing close to Gemini's flank. She wanted to quiver just as her sister did, but something within her – maybe the look their mother squared her with from across the clearing – told her she needed to be strong for her siblings. Blinking back tears, she squared her shoulders and raised her chin, wrapping her small tail around her sister.
Halsey found herself biting back a retort at the tom's words. She knew what he was doing but it was unnecessary. The Monarchy was out for blood; they would get it one way or another.
Loki glanced down at Declan. "To be mated is often a great blessing accepted and praised for and by the gods. Are you saying you did not take this she-cat as your mate?" Her green eyes sparked with mischief.

"Yes I did. But she did not. She knew the rules and kept herself to your religion. The only thing keeping her from turning me in herself was the knowledge of her pregnancy. She even came to threaten me of turning me in when i threatened her. She is innocent. Do not punish her for being in the wrong place at the wrong time." He coudlnt believe the words coming from within him. While all lies he knew it was all he could do to save her from some harsh punishment. If not save her from death. There were no witnesses aside from himself. If he, a royalty by promotion said he was completely at fault and she was innocent, who was to do anything more than toss circumstantial evidence. He hoped for the sake of their children. For the sake of the small parts of himself he was leaving behind with her, She would find sense and accuse him with the rest.
A tom had been biting his lip, thinking over his words and what he was hearing carefully before he stepped from the crowds. “Your highness,” he started uneasily, encouraged by the pleased tilt of Loki E’clair’s head, “my sister is not the brightest feline around. She gets herself into situations. Falls in love too hard too fast. She’s often taken advantage of. Is it so difficult to believe that another tom would do the same, even if he may be in greater political standing?” He shifted his paws uneasily. “My sister made a mousebrained mistake. She already...” he glanced at the kits Declan and Halsey had reared, his stomach plummeting. This was an awful thing for young children to witness, especially when it was their parents. “She already has to face... consequences.” he winced. “Is that not punishment enough?” He inhaled a deep breath. “I vote that the accused is guilty. But my sister is innocent.”
Loki ground her teeth but remained silent, her gaze landing on the quivering quad of kits still being guarded by Mirana.
Halsey wanted to scream. Even Ashley was against her chosen mate. Her heart ached and her tears began to blur her vision. She turned and nuzzled her face into his flank. “Why do you hurt me like this.” She whispered. “Why do you lie. There’s no world worth living in without you in it.”

A creamy-furred tom stepped up, slight smile on his maw. Kellen was an oddball of sorts. He was one of the only Harlows to remain in the Monarchy after his sister's disappearance and Tasman's short reign. He pushed down the bout of irritation that rose to his throat as Tsar Loki spoke. Truthfully, he was hoping that Kerrigan's meaningless laws would be thrown out with the E'claire's reign, but it appeared that he was not so fortunate. Personally, he had no quarrel with the E'claires. Sure, he stood by and watched as their family was murdered, but that was because he figured Kerrigan would kill him as well. Kellen was a selfish cat at heart. He valued his own life before others. However, he didn't mind the little bit of chaos that came with disagreements. "I vote not guilty." He spoke softly. "Love happens, right?" His last words were accented with a mischievous gleam in his brown eyes. He honestly did not care what happened to the High Priest, but keeping Tsar Loki on her toes would prove to be interesting. Of course, he would never go any further than disagree with her. He certainly didn't want his head on the chopping block.
With thick black and white fur and gleaming green eyes, Dinara's graceful, feathery form was an attention-grabber. As she stood from her spot next to Blazehowl, she relished the feeling of eyes turning and bearing into her fur. "I vote guilty." She meowed simply, sweeping her gaze up to Tsar Loki before sitting back down.

Blazehowl's gaze turned slightly to Dinara, watching her answer silently before he spoke up in unison with Lakeveil, the Vrachii sitting a short pace away from him. "Guilty." The twins chorused. Neither had any reason to oppose the Tsar in this. While Lakeveil enjoyed the chaos, she more so wanted to remain in the good graces of the E'Clairs. And besides, the rules had been clearly laid out.
Cesare grinned slightly. He really wanted to vote innocent to mess with everything, but instead, he had other plans. "Let the parents live. Kill the kits as punishment." He suggested loudly. "They aren't supposed to exist anyway."
Killian however, wasn't so keen on the death. "Innocent. He made a mistake. Exile them all instead, if you have to." It was certainly a nicer alternative, but given the number of times he'd heard 'guilty' already, including from his own mother's mouth, he didn't really expect his words to go anywhere.
"Guilty." Aylik added, no amount of sympathy in his voice. For that matter, there was really no emotion in it at all either.

Declan wanted to return some kind of comfort to his mate. But as the count down began he could feel his soul stepping into the underworld with each declaration of "Guilty." He looked beyond the crowd and into the confused scared eyes of their kits. "Im sorry." he murmured. Halsey probably thinking he was speaking to her but in tern his words directed to his children. He prayed to the gods, if they still heard him, that they would not blame him and remember him as the father who died for love. His gaze shifted down to Halsey beside him. And he smiled sadly. Blue eyes already distant. Prepared.
Loki remained silent as she listened in to the votes of almost every member that was within the clearing. There was still a large population of the Monarchy that had yet to vote, but she was impatient; she wanted the trial over to get to the fun part. She had done her best to keep her feet and tail from twitching, but she was running out of patience. "Does anyone else have any input before we tally?"
Trinity nibbled her lip. "I vote innocent."
Serenity glanced at her sister in thought, taking a moment before nodding. "As do I. Innocent."
Taikatalvi frowned up at Loki E'clair. How could this be the product of her best friend? Her heart ached. Would Tasman have done the same, though, in this predicament? Would she stick to the Constitution? Would she look upon her daughter with pride or disappointment? She nibbled her lip. "I vote..." She looked at the high priest and his mate, a sad expression in her eyes. "Innocent." She sighed. "They've done nothing wrong. Our Constitution is outdated."

"She is right. It's outdated." Another voice rose above the crowd, this belonging to an older feline, gray and black with blind eyes and a gentle, but usually strong demeanor. Silentheart was no longer the Head of Sterling House, having transferred the title to her granddaughter, Lakeveil. However, the Dvorayne's presence was still one respected among her family, and her comment was enough to set her apart from the Vrachii. "I vote innocent."
Along with her, other voices chimed in, casting their own votes.
Those who voted guilty were: Cottonmouthcry, Amethystarmy, Ivyfang, and Finn. Though not necessarily happy to do so, they, at least, seemed to believe the law should be upheld.
However, they were almost drowned by the voice of the innocents. Nadia, Ossuaryshriek, Sunbeamsting, Spellbinder, even Cerys and Ranger, all voted. To them, some laws were meant to be broken, to change when the times no longer called for it. They were the cats who believed Declan's claim, that love was not a crime.
And their chorus brought the tally dangerously close to even, if not exactly so.
The black she-cat upon the roof of the tsar's den found herself discomfited by the turn of events. She expected that her subjects would rise and stand behind her, believing that the Constitution was put in place for their protection and the efficiency of their livelihood. Instead what she was seeing was those she once believed were her allies rising against her. Among them was Silentheart, the once head of Sterling house. She found her hackles begin to raise at that sight. She believed, deep within her dark heart, that if she was to be overthrown by anyone it would be by House Sterling or House Harlow. She held no connections to either one and the history between the Harlows and the E'clairs was brutal and blood soaked at best. She grit her teeth behind clamped lips.
More voices chimed in. Callista, Sarafina and Kaiya all voted innocent. Callista was a lonely soul who believed herself to be cursed and unable to take a mate. In her eyes, why condemn love when there was no true need to? Sarafina and Kaiya were both soft hearted individuals who wanted to see families flourish rather than torn apart. Their choices were unbearably easy.
Iracebeth, who had sat back and watched without surprise as her sister shot up to protect the kits, found herself minimally shocked by her sister's declaration. Guilty? Really? It made her wonder. Was that the best option, then? To save a father from being torn from his children and to save him from watching the one he loved fall for someone else? A wicked idea grew in her mind. "Innocent." She spoke without question, her gaze dancing. He wouldn't die, no. But she could tell by the way the tsar's muscles tensed that the high priest wouldn't go without punishment. Exile, perhaps? She smiled a bit to herself. It would cause more pain, undoubtedly.
And with those four votes, it brought the score to 16 v. 11 with the verdict of 'innocent' in the lead. But would that remain for long? There were still members that needed to vote. Loki watched on in barely concealed nervousness. She wouldn't leave today without Declan made an example of, though she was starting to see she'd have to put away her claws for another weapon of choice.
Baby blue eyes watched the Tsar and the soft looking form of Changeling shifted on his paws to curl his tail around his paws. He listened to Taikatalvi's vote and resisted the urge to snort softly, the she-cat was rather predictable in her softness. The haunting conflict in her gaze though as she peered towards Loki was something he relished in though, knowing that the voiny was thinking towards Loki's mother Tasman. Letting out a small hum he debated his choices, rather uncaring either way; unbothered by the High Priests actions and distant from the monarchy's new constitutions. "I vote guilty." He spoke softly, though with finality, deciding that just because he didn't care about Declan's actions didn't mean he would give the tom a pass. The misery in his families gaze as they watched him stand trial was enough to get him casting a damning vote.
The lean black furred form of Sasha sat aside in the shadows, rather close to Halsey and her kits. Golden amber hued eyes glancing between her and the father of her kits. This plight bringing back memories of his siblings and himself standing against the tyrant Alexei and being sentenced for death simply because of who their father was. Reminding him of their hurried flight from persecution and long moons spent hidden away from any potential hunters. But he could also understand how important it was to squash dissent and disobedience before it began. Rasputin's attempted assassination of Anastasia going to show that letting problems fester only brought more infection. One more his eerie gaze went between Declan and Halsey before landing on Loki E'clair. So young to rule, perhaps a mistake in not having Rune hold the throne until she grew a bit more. But his family had long since faded into obscurity giving him no voice, and Sasha not a time to speak up or cause ripples. Killing Declan though would most likely bring her more problems than solving them, "I vote guilty." He felt eyes on his pelt, knowing most thought him to soft for such a vote. Not knowing of his history. "All participants should be killed, mother and kits included." He added, in a soft vote, eye intent on the Tsar. To kill the father and leave the family alive would welcome rebellion and problems later.
Loki's eyes narrowed at the tom's blatant stare, sweeping her green gaze over the crowd once more. There were disbelieving rumors here or there; they hadn't considered that Sasha would be so unforgiving. Punishing those at fault was one thing; punishing even the youngest, who had yet to grow into who they were meant to be? It was a different tactic that had stirred a bit of tension in the clearing. Part of her wanted to dispel worry – they were not a clan to kill the innocent – but were they not? Was it not in Kerrigan's reign that a high priest was made to kill his own young? She found herself torn but quickly quelled the feeling. This was her duty now and she had made her bed. Now, she must lie in it. She had brought this meeting to a vote; what others voted was up to them. It was her job, as a dedicate of Nivet now, to maintain balance with her ultimate decision. Even if she longed to relieve the monarchy of the burden of two traitors.
"Very well. If there are no further votes, we shall tally the results." Closing her eyes, she thought back to each vote that was marked, counting silently in her head. She knew that the Curate would be close by, having been counting up each vote that was made. She turned her head to Pearlypaw, silently questioning the she-cat to hand in the results, though she knew within her heart what the answer was.
16 innocent to 13 guilty. Declan would not lose his life this day. But what then? She tilted her head back to the skies, silently questioning the gods for their answer. Would Declan be exiled or would he be charged with the task of executing one of his own children?
With no further comment spewing forth from any new mouths, Loki nodded her head. So it was decided. Closing her eyes, she allowed the energy from within her flow into the ground beneath her paws, allowing her body to grow lax and sway along the roof. Quickly, however, an electricity unlike any other prickled along her pelt like a lover's caress and she snapped her emerald eyes open, as if electrocuted. The expression on her face was calm, however, despite the silent rage behind her eyes.
"Let it be known that Declan, High Priest of BrookClan, shall be stripped of his title and escorted from the Monarchy's lands. He shall not step foot upon this territory again in his life and shall be excommunicated. To move against this punishment," her gaze swept to the ex-Ut Religiousness member, "is to willfully trespass and offer himself up as prisoner. In which case," she turned back to the clearing of felines, "we will have full jurisdiction to follow through with what punishment we see fit." Turning, she padded along the roof of the den down the steep and short path to enter her den.

Declan blinked. His heart skipping a beat. Was it relief or a new kind of grief? The tom dipped his head. Punishment accepted. He turned and gave his mate a soft nuzzle. He was sure he wouldnt be allowed to say good bye to their kits. He scanned the crowed wondering who would escort him to his fate beyond.
Halsey watched him descend from the stand with a look of horror across her features, though admittedly her heart still held out hope. She wasn't going to lose him today, not eternally, and she knew, even without fully consciously thinking it, that she'd see him again. She'd make an effort to. They were meant to be; two hearts fated to forever intertwine. When you finally found that type of connection.. you weren't supposed to give it up for anything.
The highlander tabby tom padded through the crowed, the slim tom smiling placidly towards the pair as he approached them. Stub of a tail perked up and head held high as he took them in. "Come along then Declan. Time for you to make yourself scarce." He purred as he cut his glassy golden eyes from the tom to his mate giving her a more crooked of a grin. As if reading her thoughts and finding amusement from them. "I'll tell you a story along the way to the border, it'll be a grand time all around. Like you aren't even being banished!" Strigoi beamed as the magistratus motioned towards the camp entrance with his head, the ring of the bell hanging on a thread around his throat setting the depressing soon to a jaunty jingle.
