Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She hadn't expected it to happen. When they'd met, romance was the last thing on their minds. It was a business partnership, nothing more, and yet... at some point it had turned into something neither one of them had anticipated. Was it something they truly wanted? That was still up for debate. She loved him, she did. Did he feel the same? She'd had her lovers, yes, but they always seemed to run away before things got serious... Declan was different though. He cared.
Maybe that was why, when the first contractions hit and her body burst into flames, she was okay with the pain. It meant that she would have more to treasure for him, with him, of him. Even if it ultimately meant death.
THE LITTER –
GEMINI – the eldest and two-faced. PRIMORDIALHAZE
AQUARIUS – adores water and is most comfortably by the brooks and streams. IAN

SAGITTARIUS – energetic and willful. never stays in one place for long. SINFUL
THE NOTES –
These kittens are the result of a love affair between Declan, the High Priest, and Halsey, a Voiny. It was scandalous and went against the Constitution, resulting in Declan's trial and consequential execution. Halsey, grieving for the loss of the tom she loved, distances herself from her children, though keeps obsessive tabs on them at all times.

Declan knew this day was coming. It had been looming. Tempting the edges of his reality. So bitter sweet. A death sentence wrapped in pretty wrapping. But he didn't care. He had resigned himself to his fate since he found out. They both knew while she was going through the pregnancy that it was easy to keep a secret. Stay away from one another unless in secret or public areas for conversation. He had told her once the kits were born he wouldn't make her carry the burden of such a secret. Not when it was his fault to begin with. He would be there for her and he would face the trial to come.
Declan wasted no time when he had heard her cries. "Halsey?" The white angora with soft blue eyes asked as he poked his head into the den.
She'd resorted herself to a labor alone, her only company being her own screams, but when she registered his voice over the roaring in her ears she felt relief flood her. She glanced over at the tom and tears threatened to fall from her squinted eyes. "Declan?" She breathed. "I thought I was alone."

"I would never leave you alone Halsey." he murmured as he squeezed in the opening and currled up behind her rasping his course tongue across her cheeks. "So long as I am in this forest I will show up for you." He meowed resigning himself to look her over. "When did the contractions start?" By the gods mother and children were going to make it through alive or he would hunt the gods himself.
The white and brown she-cat found herself relaxing all the more by his words, that is until another contraction hit and she tensed, jaw clenching. She glanced at him from squinted eyes, trying to make out the rest of his words over the roaring in her ears. "Just... a little bit ago... They're only every now and then but I think they're increasing in time." She nervously gnawed on her tongue. "Should we call for Lakeveil or Kaliko?"

"Yes we should." He rose again to his paws and ducked out side to find either. He could feel the tension in Halsey's body and bothered him immensely. "Lakeveil? Kaliko!"

Kaliko drifted into camp, a bundle of herbs in her jaws. It was obvious by their fresh scent and her grass-stained paws that she had been out collecting them. She padded into the medical den and placed the precious bundle down. The pretty multi-colored feline was the first to hear the cries of Halsey. Her ears pricked in surprise at the she-cat's voice. She took her time to make sure she gathered all of the right herbs before trotting over to the den where Hasley laid. A light of surprise flickered over her gaze as it met met Declan's. Awkwardly, she gave a bow of greeting in respect. "Greetings, High Priest. Hasley, I have brought herbs to soothe your troubles." Her voice was thick with an accent and held a note of confusion for the tom's presence. She did not want to assume the worst, but her pelt began to prickle with unease at their closeness.
Halsey had tensed for a quick moment, her eyes flicking to the tom at her side, but he didn’t look like he was about to go anywhere and the pain was too great to ignore for propriety’s sake so she sighed in relief. “Thank you, Kaliko...” she breathed, taking them a bit too hastily and lapping them up, eager for the ease they’d bring. “Um.” Her nervousness was peaking again. “It’s not... long now, is it?” She glanced at her swollen belly. Would it be difficult? It was her first litter... what if something went wrong? Her heart started hammering.

Declan seemed un-phased by the tension in the small den. He gentle groomed Halsey's cheeks as worry radiated off of her. "You'll do fine Halsey. Don't worry." he soothed.

Kaliko's eyes narrowed, fully understanding their relationship now. Her gaze flicked from the two of them. She couldn't just leave Hasley without any aid... The kittens were innocent and she couldn't bear to let a cat suffer through labor alone. Her ears twitched uncomfortably and she pushed some wet moss towards the Damy's muzzle. "Drink. It shouldn't be long now." She meowed gently and began to press her paws along she-cat's belly. She was satisfied to feel that the contractions came normally. Kaliko had not been an acecoop long, but she had been the cat to assist those on the boat so she was familiar with labor. Her eyes returned to Declan and Hasley, a grave look in their depths. "If it is not too bold of me to say, this was not smart." She spoke lowly so that no other cats could overhear. "These kittens will be met with grief as soon as they enter the world. I don't even know if it is right of me to assist you. What blood will rest on your paws from this deed? You must run far, far away. No one needs to know of this." Her gaze then shifted to the High Priest, a fire in their depths. "It is your duty to protect them. What will you do now?"
Halsey, once relieved at the sight of the acecoop and flooded with the chill of tension escaping her body when she realized the healer wouldn't turn away, found herself stiffening and glancing at the she-cat. There was something about her voice... something that told her the acecoop was teetering on the edge of something. Confessing their sin to the tsar? Turning them in where they would be dealt with without mercy? Or would she aid them? She could see the struggle within the young kadet, but her final words had a bit of her heart slowing in its jack rabbit race. She looked over at the high priest beside them, studying his face with her eyes, trying to commit the image to memory. Kaliko was right. Once their children were born... everything would change. Would he be able to remain a father to their children, teaching them and playing with them? Something in her heart sobbed even as she admitted to herself: no. He would be long gone; exiled, for a minor punishment, or... She could barely even think it. Another contraction ran through her and she clenched her teeth, for once grateful for the pain that swallowed her whole as it distracted her thoughts from straying down dark paths.
