Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. One paw remained firmly on the motionless figure's shoulder as she lifted her head, tongue running over her mouth in a vain attempt to clean the smear of blood across her face. It was a good thing this victim wasn't brought down with the aim of her working her 'magic'. Or maybe it was because she tracked it down to fill her stomach that it had ended up littered with far more injuries than she would prefer a canvas to have. Soft green eyes skimmed over the cat, a smirk not uncommon to the bengal she-cat on her face. It was only when her belly gave a low rumble that she stopped her automatic judgement of her prey.
She hopped back a pace, glancing over the body for a moment longer before she hopped back forwards with her teeth digging into the shoulder. A low growl rumbled in her throat as she tried to get a bite off. She froze halfway, though, glancing up with her teeth still buried deep into fur and flesh. After hesitating briefly she lifted her head, calling out, "Hey, is someone out there?" She squinted into the shadows, trying to pick out movement, before she added, "There's plenty here if you're hungry," a joking note edging her voice. There were only a rare few cats who actually shared her... unusual tastes and her assumption was that whatever she noticed was not among them. If it was, though, she had no real qualms about sharing. There was certainly far more here than she could ever reasonably eat alone.
Any hunter of the League could recognize the sounds of a fight from a mile away, but this one seemed particularly brutal from the start. Omega's familiarity with the art of the kill was not to be underestimated. In his lifetime he had killed more than he count, and to some extent he always enjoyed the final moments when the light left his victim's eyes, but the act of killing itself proved troublesome. There was something about striking down an already beaten opponent that made him bristle, but that small sliver of humanity left not long ago with the rest of his boundaries. He could still feel the turbulence where his soul once was. Even worse was the darkness and chaos that grew to take its place. He still had control, but it everyday he slipped further down a slope the old him would never have dreamed of descending into.
He knew such a slip was coming when he did not even flinch at Blythe taking a bite out of her prey. He could feel parts of himself screaming at his muscles to turn around and run away, forget what he saw and move on, but a dark curiosity held his feet in place and then pushed them forward. His few remaining morals weighed down his paws, but he trudged from his hiding place into the open. His icy optics glanced one more time at the impressive kill before returning to Blythe's bloodstained face with betrayed curiosity . "I did not mean to interrupt your meal... I'll leave now."
One paw draped over her caught victim, her tail flicking up in greeting as she flashed her Leaguemate a small smile. She wasn't unfamiliar with cats avoiding her when she ate - even in the League there were cats uncomfortable with cannibalism, like that nice cat Kotori - and she always found cats brave enough to even meet her gaze entertaining. She couldn't help waving a paw as he looked at her kill, asking, "It's a nice catch, isn't it?" with amusement edging her voice. The entire time her own eyes looked Omega over, watching his body language carefully while also absently wondering how he'd look done up like some of her 'art pieces'. It was no serious thought, Leaguemates generally safe from her morbid hobby, but that didn't stop her from thinking up hypotheticals.
A wide grin split the she-cat's face as the tom's gaze turned back to her. Most cats were disgusted by her habits, or at least a little unsettled. But the look in his eyes. She had met enough cats, drawn in enough curious strangers, to recognize the look in his eyes. Carefully she stepped over her prey, a trail of bloody pawprints marked behind her as she padded up to Omega. "Oh, come on. It's okay to try a bite," she purred, head tilting to the side as she spoke. With a mischievous spark in her eyes she added, "I know you want to." She shifted to stand at his side with her last, teasing comment, nudging his shoulder with her own.
The hunter nodded shyly as she admired her catch. The catch looked like a good one. It had broad shoulders, strong legs, and an overall strong looking build. He shook his head as a realized that he was sizing up the corpse as if it were a meal. He wasn't a cannibal. Even now it was below his morals. He closed his eyes a sighed, just barely missing Blythe sizing him up. He knew he needed to get out of here before he did something he could never take back. He lifted his paws to turn away as her first words hit his ears. His legs became lead for a moment before he turned around to take another look at the corpse. How different could it be from a bird or squirrel? It was meat. No, it was a cat. It was not food until Blythe decided it was. Blythe knocked Omega from his trance with the light shoulder nudge.
Omega cast a warning glare at the Bengal she-cat. "I wouldn't call it a want." It was a mere curiosity. He did not feel the need to act on it, so what would be the harm in approaching the catch? The tom took a careful step forward as if the corpse was going to come back to life and attack him. He stepped in one of her bloody pawprints and barely noticed the sticky crimson fluid on his paws until he was only a few feet from the catch.
He was right. The catch was quite well built, and had quite the amount of meat on its bones. He glanced back at the Bengal she-cat. "I'm afraid to ask, but do you usually eat, you know, a whole cat in one sitting? It seems like a lot." He poked at the flank and recoiled when he felt the heat leaving its body. There was no way he could do this.
