"Interesting that you didn't pluck any of the feathers before you took a bite, hmm?" meowed a voice as a body padded forward. "I would imagine that feathery bites are not the most pleasant, but who am I?" Altaire let out a hearty laugh, before dipping his head towards the ground. "Mind if I join you? I could use some company, hmm." He was half-confident that the sh-ecat would expect that this was him requesting to join her prey. It wasn't, though. He had already eaten. However, he was interested in the thought processes of the children of the former Nemesis. He was still rather recent in terms of his existence in Primal Instinct, only being here a few moons, and the tom was the kind of creature who was quickly interested in changing dynamics. The best way to understand the changing dynamics was to get them straight from the horse's mouth, no?

“Newer than most,” the proxy meowed casually. This was true; the father of the Mage had only been in the group long enough to produce Morgana’s heir. Well, even that was a not exactly true statement. The two had paired before his arrival, but he had been there for his daughters birth. Yet, already, he had made a name for himself, at least somewhat. He was good at that, manipulating his way into power structures. “Morgana invited me not too long ago, hmm.” His tail tip twitched slightly before he offered her a pleasant shrug. “Not that this place is particularly different than the one I left. Plenty more spots and stripes,” he flicked is tail again, knowing that part of the reason the feline was here at all was his lack thereof, “than I’m used to, but that’s about it.”

He gave her a nod, his body falling into a seated position.”You are one of the children of the former E’tani, correct?” This was his offerance of an obvious question. If Nepherys wasn’t the direct heir, she was somewhere in the lineage. Her body was riddled with the evidence. “Nypheris, maybe?”

The reason he was already raising to the rank he was was truly up for debate. Many would assume it was simply because of Morgana, and although that wasn't necessarily the case (Morgana had learned of his promotion from a hunter, after all), he wasn't a cat who would make a fuss about it. Give it time, and the cats would understand why he was selected out of the masses. Not only was he fresh blood, but he was the kind of cat that was good to keep around. One with friends in all places, and a penchant for getting his paws mixed in anything he could. His influence was yet to be sweeping in Primal Instinct, but he was sure that it would be one day.

The tom tilted his head when she referenced his mate. Although there was no love between the two, her response felt... off, and there was a part of him that felt the need to defend her. Then, when he spoke of their communal daughter, the tom's ears pricked. "I'm sure she will. Ravenna-chan seems capable enough, not that Morgana is particularly patient." He meowed this with a chuckle. "What makes you hope that?"

He then laughed a little harder at the next sentence, amusement clear in his gaze. "I've noticed that there seems to be a lot of you, yes," he mewed, "although it is often hard to tell exactly which ones of you are siblings and which are a little further away. The pelt pattern is strong; I'm surprised it hasn't been more diluted by generation two or three." He offered a shrug to this.

He then nodded casually. "I've made it a point to at least make an effort," he replied, his voice easy. "Of course, I may make some mistakes, but understanding the League means understanding your family, at least at base level," he mused. Really, he had been clearly instructed to find out as much as he could about them. The tensions in the League were high, incredibly so. Yet, he couldn't just let her know that, not when she was a potential enemy.
