Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cadet Phobia, a future mercenary of the league current full time terror to all her superiors. Some might hope she might be contained to Post Alpha where she resided but Phobia was constantly wandering the tunnels. Going to the garden to pester the guiders, trying to convince them to teach her small useful things, like herbs she could throw in her enemies face to blind them. Her attempts often fell short and ended in her being shooed away to bother someone else. She would then head to the Post Kilo to try and acquaint herself with the raisers and tussle with the tykes for a bit, but then she would start telling them the best way to torture a cat while still keeping them alive and off she was sent. She would protest saying it was all conjecture and she herself didn't really know how to torture another cat. But the raisers never wanted to hear it.
Despite all this she had fun. She kept herself busy.
Lark, one of the younger raisers, had never had the pleasure of meeting Phobia previously, but she had heard bits of stories about her from the other cats in Post Kilo. It had been a slow day in the tunnels, with the tykes just put down for a nap. Lark had wandered to the tunnels right outside of the post, stifling a yawn herself. The petite calico had been tired lately, not sleeping well, as her dreams had become more and more reminiscent of her own failed pregnancy and still birth. It wasn’t the best time for her to get into any issues, but issues always seemed to find her regardless.

When her eyes alight on the other cat her steps unconscious quickened. The prospect of company driving her forward just a bit faster. Ear tufts swiveled as her ears perked forward, large round eyes getting a little spark. She tried to place the other she-cat but she still wasn't well traveled through the posts enough to be familiar with every cats name, though she could confidently say the other was a raiser she had seen around post kilo. "Hi!" She chirped when she was close enough, sounding like the morning birds that sang their songs during the spring. Those who knew her better might be more ready to compare her to a scavenger bird instead. "I'm Cadet Phobia! I'm going to be a mercenary!"
The sentinel went unnoticed by Lark as she took in the newcomer, blinking the fatigue from her amber eyes. "Cadet Phobia." Lark smiled in greeting at the younger she-cat, dismissing the apprehension that the name triggered. She decided not to judge her off others' stories, but to get to know the younger cadet personally. "I'm Lark. It's lovely to meet you."

"Lovely." Phobia parroted, "no one has said it's lovely to meet me before!" Though that might be because she often didn't give others a chance to tell her it was lovely to meet her. So exuberant and ready for her next question, her next adventure she bowled right over them. Besides, small talk was boring. "What are you doing right now? Can I join? Can we do it together? Can you teach me whatever it is you're doing?!"
Lark blinked once, listening to the barrage of questions. After a moment she smiled again, her fondness for younger cats overcoming her surprise. "I wasn't doing anything interesting- the tykes are sleeping so we probably shouldn't disturb them. But we can walk the tunnels if you'd like."

"Walking is boring. What if we hop?" Phobia asked simply to be contrary. Waiting a long moment to see the others reaction before she grew impatient and moved on without actually waiting. "I'm just kidding of-course, I know your probably not as young as you used to be." She gave the older a cheeky grin, deciding she could get away with pushing her luck. She thought the raisers were always the most easy going and had the best senses of humor of the cats she got underfoot of.
"I hardly think two years is old." Lark protested good-naturedly, standing to walk along the tunnels and motioning with her tail for Phobia to follow. "I don't have that many moons on you, if you're a cadet. Do you frequently hop through the tunnels?"

"No. But I'm sure I could if I wanted to." Phobia replied, almost boastful, if that was something to boast about she wanted to take advantage of it. "And wow, you're young. I mean you're still old because you're a raiser and I hear from the others that the frights kits can give you add years to your age."
Lark's smile grew as they walked, thoroughly amused by the chatter. "The tykes can be a handful, but I believe the pay off is worth the struggles. How is mercenary training going?"

"Good, good!" Phobia replied exuberantly. "Well I mean maybe not, it's rather stagnant right now. But I'm sure it'll ramp up once more soon." She didn't want to mention she had been skipping a lot of training sessions.
"Training can't always be fast-paced, you know. Sometimes the quality is in the details, which takes time. What are you learning?" Lark's tail tip twitched as they strode through the earthy tunnels, winding a large loop through them.

"Stuff like how to avoid and enemy attack and I've been trying to learn this particular take down mode but I've been having trouble with it. I'm starting to fear I'm just not suited to it with my body type and that I might have to try something else." She fretted, the most vulnerability and seriousness she had shown yet.
"Sometimes we need to adapt to different things, and that's okay." Lark soothed, offering a bright smile. "I started out as a Mercenary cadet, but it wasn't for me. You don't have to be perfect to make progress."

( had completely lost this thread. Sorry. Also on phone forgive mistakes please. )
Phobia wondered if Lark meant to be encouragung. As her words only caused Phoni a to feel a sense of panic. She didn't want to change her path, wanted to be on the front lines to help protect the regime. But she kept this thought inside to nervous to voice it. "Can you imagine if I became your denmate. It would be so much livlier!"
"Never!" Phobia laughed, filled with lots of positive energy despite answering in the negative. But she was never one to let things get her down, always hoping to find her next grand adventure. Even if finding it required bending some rules and stepping on some toes. "Why is that an offer to take me?"
"If you'd like. As long as you promise to do what I tell you." Lark's voice was stern- there was no room for disobedience on the surface, especially for cats who didn't know the dangers that could appear up there. "We can go for a short walk."

"Oh! I promise, promise, promise I won't wander off and if you tell me to jump I'll ask how high!" Phobia was quick to agree, head bobbing up and down fast enough that she would get dizzy from it soon. But She kept her enthusiastic movements up, one to show how excited she was, and two because she wanted to see how long it would take for Lark to get bothered by it and tell her to stop before she made herself sick.
