Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She was rarely seen around camp much anymore. The Shaman grew to be fond of everything except what was familiar, aside from her family and occasionally the garden. Piroska's life grew secretive, and she liked it. Coming back into league territory, blood stained her mouth and dried a trail down her jaw to her neck. The glint in her eyes was both playful and threatened. She was hardly a reflection of the cat she was only a couple moons ago. Life didn't play out her way with some things. Now she was feeling rebellious, craving anything that meant trouble. Satisfied for the time being and licking her upper maw, she figured it was best not to look like a total savage. She was supposed to be different from the others, wasn't she? Piroska didn't know the answer to that anymore, her abandoned desires bringing out a more selfish side of her that she once looked down upon. She no longer acted with purpose, instead by whim. Downward spiral or whatever she was currently in, she held no regrets.

"Mother," came a voice behind her. It was soft, almost like the voice had been unsure whether or not to approach the older cat. Perhaps there was some truth in this idea; Xithymia-kun had seen less and less of her mother lately, and perhaps this led her to believe that there was a gap between the two. Of course, they shared the sacred connection that no other mother daughter pair could have so strongly, the bond of mage and shaman, but there seemed to be a distance lately. Xithymia-kun, however, did not find it her place to question her mother. In fact, her disappearances made part of her happy; it meant her mother believed that she could hold everything together.
"I have been looking for you," she meowed, confidence gaining in her voice. Piroska was the only feline that the mage would ever appear to as less than confident, and the way she said mother almost seemed like a lapse of Xithymia's general nature, one that she quickly adjusted from. Soon, her tone was back to normal. "You look like your emotional state is of a different nature than normal. Would my questioning be best saved for another time? My findings are of the upmost importance, however they fein the urgency that would require your immediate attention."
The feline shifted her weight between paws, her gaze laser-locked on her mother. Xithymia's assertions had been heart-felt; Piroska did look different to her than normal. However, she had failed to witness the licking of the lips of her family member, so instead of making that connection, the feline's brain was quickly trying to figure out what other connections could be made that would explain why Xi thought there was something different about Piroska.
Had it been any other cat than one of her own children, and even more so in the case of Xithymia-kun, her demeanor would've been colder. Piroska had nothing but love for them, even in her darkest times. There was the distance, however. At times she defended that it was in their best interest to have the time away from her, but would never admit the reason why. She really couldn't. Her lover, and the father of her children seemed forever gone. Without a word even. It was the beginning of her problems, followed by failures with her garden experience, and it continued from there with her woes. A mother couldn't explain that to her kits, especially when she aimed to be exemplary for them. So she cleared her throat and she dipped her head to Xi in acceptance. "I have the time," she responded, giving her full attention to her daughter and mage. "What is it you have to tell me?"

She tilted her head slightly, almost as if she was unsure whether or not to believe her mother. However, she supposed that it was the snow bengal's job to report her findings, especially to the one feline who may be of more assistance than anyone else. Vera could accept her findings, but Piroska was the only one in this group that Xithymia could expect any guidance from.
"I have been experimenting with the prey that Aunt Vera found," she meowed, shifting her weight slightly. Had her mother been made aware of the incident? She realized that she was unsure of the answer to this question. "It was a few moon highs ago. Aunt Vera had been hunting, and she came across a prey-animal that she killed, but immediately realized that the blood in the being was tainted, rancid. She tasked me with finding out exactly what was wrong with it." The young feline's nose twitched at the explanation, focus in her eyes.
"I have been trying my absolute best to understand what is wrong with the prey, but I have yet to come across any solid conclusions. However, I have made one discovery. Whatever has tainted the creature has made its blood... thicker." She tilted her head slightly, before shifting again. "This was not the only prey that was said to have bad blood. A kitten found another example, but had discarded it permanently before I could experiment on it." There was a slight frustration in her voice.
"I was hoping that you could provide guidance as to what I should do next with the corpse to try to understand this problem."
