Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Twenty-eight, twenty-nine, thirty! Ready or not, here I come!" Verne's counting had been a bit rushed, and her voice could not conceal her half-hearted attempt to entertain the princess. It had been Matilde's idea to play this game with her, after all, and she had been burdened with being 'it' before she even agreed to playing. Verne loved a challenge, everyone knew that, but she could think of a million more thrilling games to play than hide-and-seek.
The calico briskly searched the Nemesis' tower, under the stairwell, and the old two-leg kitchens, with no luck. She scanned the entrance hall when she'd made her way back to it, wondering if anyone had seen where the pale kitten had gone.

"What are you doing?" Eero-kun stepped out of the entrance hall with a quiet curiosity in his gaze. He had noticed Verne darting around and figured he would make sure the youngling wasn't in trouble.
LMAO Verne's an adult xD ... she does behave pretty childish though, hence why she's stuck playing games w a kitten
"I'm looking for Matilde, have you seen her?" Verne asked hopefully, eager to find the princess and put an end to this game -- or at least put an end to being 'it', which was never as fun as hiding. She blinked at the trainee expectantly; he knew who Matilde was, right? After a few blinks an idea ballooned in her head. "Y'know, hide-and-seek is more age appropriate for you; do you want to tag in and look for her instead?"

hahahaha oops
Matilde, Matilde... "Uh, I'm not sure. What does she look like again?" Eero-kun asked sheepishly, unsure if he was supposed to know the kitten or not. At her suggestion, he stiffened and looked around awkwardly. He had heard of the game before and watched other younglings play it when he was younger, but he never ended up joining in. "I've never actually played hide-and-seek." He finally admitted with a brush of his paw against the ground below.
She quirked her head to the side, giving him an incredulous blink. "You've never played hide-and-seek? Did you grow up under a rock?" Her question was teasing, but she was also oblivious to this trainee's upbringing and whether or not he minded being teased. And she wasn't one to talk about upbringing - she and her sister had grown up in a murderous cult that worshipped monster-like deity's... but even there they'd played hide-and-seek.
"Oh, it's easy," she continued. "It's just like name says - someone hides and someone seeks them out. If you get caught you lose. And if the seeker can't find the hider, they lose. So, wanna play?"

"Oh, I'm sure my sisters did." Eero-kun replied sheepishly to her bewildered remark. It wasn't that he was raised under a rock... He just chose to be one in hopes of becoming the cat his mother wanted him to be. She always gave her best and more for them, so he felt it was necessary to also try his best to be a studious kit. "I guess I never got around to playing much with others. But this sounds like fun and a good tracking game too, so sure, I'll play." He responded with a small smile.
“It is a good tracking game,” Verne nodded encouragingly. “Lots of games may seem juvenile on the surface, but they're actually helping kits build vital life skills, while keeping them out of danger’s way.” That was her sister talking — Verne had never put any thought into kit curriculum; she played games because they were fun. But she’d discovered cats understood her more when she spoke their kind of language, and this trainee seemed like the real buttoned-up type. "Hmm, so do you want to be it, or shall I be it?”
