Jagger was starting to think all he ever did anymore was hunt. Even with so few mouths to feed these days the ginger tom constantly found himself on the prowl looking for... well anything. He wasn't sure what to do as The Regime's new seemingly self proclaimed leader. One thing he did know though was that no one was going to starve on his watch. Even if it meant leaving the frozen waste that was Renegade Regime's territory. As soon as the snow gave way to dirt, and eventually grass the commander let out a sigh of relief, leaving his territory behind temporarily in search of greener pastures. While he was here he might as well search for any useful herbs as well.

Madeleine had a similar thought process to Jagger. The hunting in the Renegade Regime territory was going no where due to the snow that had accumulated that morning, and she had decided to travel past their territory markers because of the frustration of finding a catch. Since moving onto the local forest area she had caught two mice and a finch. She swiped her tongue as she polished off the finch but carried the remaining two mice by their tails in her mouth as she headed back towards the Regime scent line. Madeleine was still a new face among the ranks of the Regime and had no reason to be hunting for anyone aside from herself, but she couldn't help but feel a bit of pity for the group of cats. When she had arrived the Regime had apparently lost half of their forces to an earthquake that occurred during a war with some local groups of cats, and the cats who had survived was scrawny and defeated from their unimaginable amount of losses. Madeleine might be irritable and aggressive at times, but she definitely wasn't cold-hearted. Her eyes shifted from side to side as she listened for any other signs of prey on her way back, but instead she caught sight of Jagger which surprised her. She placed the mice in between her paws as she called out to the leader. "Jagger?"

Jagger was looking at the ground intently as he walked, you'd of thought the tom had never seen grass before the way he looked at it. Truth be told he was just surprised that he hadn't worn a permanent path in it yet with how often he came this way. While what little of the Regime had mostly accepted the other half of the regime was gone, Jagger couldn't accept that. So every day he went out and searched for any stragglers or survivors. He hadn't found any yet, and it was beginning to wear on him. He knew he couldn't keep this up forever. He needed to start thinking about those who remained and the future of The Regime, knowing that at this rate they weren't likely to make it to green-leaf. So engrossed in his own thoughts and worries he hadn't noticed the she-cat out hunting until she'd called out to him. Jagger's head snapped up at the sound of his name. As soon as his eyes found the she-cat he hurried over to her.
"Madeleine? What are you doing way out here?" for a moment he was confused to see the Mercenary hunting until he realized, he hadn't seen any of the scouts in a long time. If they were to survive it made sense that the mercenaries would need to hunt as well in the mean time. "Is something wrong?"
