Everyone's favorite Priestess! Err... former Priestess. Eh, Foxstar was Foxstar, whatever clan she was leading. And it just so happened she figured it was about time she actually tried to visit her kits in SwiftClan, hence why she tracked them down. Probably bad manners not to warn them that she intended to visit, but since when did she care? She wasn't here on murderous business, which was a miracle all it's own, not that SwiftClan's leader was likely to approve.
He was on his way to visit his son; after the recent losses that shook their family, he was feeling lonelier than ever. Quiet mornings sitting on the fence had become traps. Every moment alone his mind was pressing in on itself, and he shook it away stubbornly, refusing to give in to his grief and let it weaken his legs. Death happened. It would do no good to linger on it, even as his heart twisted like thorns in his chest.
But the scent he caught on the way to the camp was not Steepfall's, and Landon frowned. What was Foxstar doing down here? He picked up the pace as he sought her out. It had been many moons since he'd seen her last; silver graced his whiskers now, as handsome as ever, but the strength was gone from his shoulders, withered after moons of aging in a soft and unthreatening nest.
The leader turned her head to the familiar voice. She shouldn't have been surprised, but she was. She'd thought he spent his time in twolegplace now, not around here. "I was about to ask the same of you." The fox furred feline purred as she approached. Unlike him, she looked as young as ever, as if age hadn't dared to touch such a timeless villainess, too afraid of the repercussions. Cunning still glinted in her gaze, the air of danger tingling one's nose as they decided whether to face her or run. Foxstar's smile was no less beautiful as it was terrifying, alluring and a warning wrapped into a simple expression. "Come to visit our kits too?"
StarClan, she looked the same as the day they'd met. Foxstar was as cunning and enticing as she had ever been, Landon just as lonely, but this time he wasn't interested. Time had given him perspective and grief, and while he did not regret their time together for a second, he wasn't going to try and relive the old days.
"I heard Steepfall finally settled down with a litter of little ones," he told her with a nod. "About time! I've been waiting to become a grandfather forever." Saltpile and Krosis had chosen not to have any kittens of their own. Forsworn, Slaughterfish, Orion, and Steepfall had not seemed interested in finding a mate, at least until recently for the latter. Cygnus's mate Dawnfrost had died before they could start a family.
"I guess you've been a great-grandmother many times by now, huh?"

"Well that's one way to make me sound old. Maybe be careful if you'd like to keep your tongue." Foxstar stepped far too close to Landon for comfort, a paw gently cupping his cheek with claws that just barely pricked skin before she moved away, looking more amused than offended. "Yes, that's why I wanted to visit. It was about time I see them, I don't believe I've really spoken to them since that SunClan exile." Did Landon have any clue what she was talking about? Who knew, but she didn't elaborate.
"You are old," he retorted. Warmth spread through his cheek at her touch, but he didn't flinch away. Landon knew all her tricks now. He didn't look bothered by this talk of exile, either; he had long given up on following clan politics and frankly he did not care who had been exiled from SunClan or why. This was Foxstar, and he'd bet his mice for a month that the story was a long and complicated one.
"So we're showing up, uninvited, together?" Landon raised one brow and couldn't resist a grin. "There will be so many rumors."

"Mmm. I'll believe it when my bones start creaking." Foxstar hummed, flashing him a too sharp smirk of a smile at his suggestion, her laugh light and charismatic. "Since when do we why away from rumor? Not like I don't have enough already."
This was why Foxstar was so dangerous. There were many cats in this world that could fight as well she could, but few could make such a singularly awful idea sound irresistibly tempting. His grin grew wider, daring— after all, what did he have left to lose?— and he leaned forward, a playful rumble in his throat.
Then he caught a hold of himself. “Maybe you don’t, but I’ve had enough drama for a lifetime.” He swatted one paw at her nearest ear. “Keep me out of it.”

"Oh, Landon." She laughed again. "You should know better than to think you can escape me. My drama will follow you, whether you qant it to or not." Foxstar glanced around. "Besides, we're already here, the rumors will start whether we want them to or not, no point in trying to find it now. If you wanted that, you should have turned around the moment you spotted me."
“A decision I may yet live to regret,” he replied, but prepared to enter the camp with her. As they followed the path inside, he cleared his throat and called ahead: “Landon, coming in to visit his son! Steepfall’s probably in the nursery,” he mused, quieter.
Landon chuckled. “I have many regrets, but you’re one of the small ones,” he told her honestly. “For all of the trouble you brought, I wouldn’t give up our children for the world. And you’re not so bad for yourself. Silvermist,” he interrupted himself to nod a greeting to her as he passed. “She’s my daughter-in-law’s sister, did you know?”

Foxstar gave a wave to Silvermist, who probably had no idea who Fox was, except maybe guessing by the appearance. "Of all the kits and cats I've kept track of, our kits and you aren't high on the priority list. So no, I didn't."
