Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The litter reveal of Ophelia & Steepfall in RP form! If you want a kit, go nap one here before it's too late >>> LINK. Steepfall was blindsided.
He was a father.
It turned out that Ophelia had been one of those I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant episodes where she woke up in the middle of the night, her water broke, and the rest is history. Now, Steepfall knew that there was a chance she'd have his kits someday, but he had sort of expected a little bit of time to mentally prepare himself for what was sure to be the most... difficult portion of his life. Now he had to face it head on with like a few hour's notice. He could already hear the kits mewling from where he stood and in sent shivers down his spine.
"I should have told her I don't like kits a long time ago..." Steepfall muttered to himself as he padded toward the nursery. Lifting up each paw felt like walking through several inches of sand, "... I mean, she probably knows already, but...."
Ophelia had been just as surprised as her mate, but really she was taking it far better. Maybe it's because both of her litters were that way, surprises. Badgerbee and Otterfish had been unexpected, especially since she'd been the vet when she was owned by her twolegs. But that operation had failed and her boys had been born as the first kits in SwiftClan. They were the reason for escaping the life of a twoleg and she was oh so glad for that decision! Luckily for the queen, she was a permanent resident of eth nursery and merely slept a few nights here and then in the warrior den with Steepfall with him joining her here in the nursery most nights. It was dawn now, and she still had one more tom to tell about these late night arrivals. Purring, she couldn't wait to share her news with her oldest son.
Taking a deep breath, Steepfall poked his head into the makeshift nursery and all color drained from his face. Nestled at his mate's side were four healthy, lively little kits, two of which looked just like their mother, one looked just like him, and the last, well, he'd keep her likeness to himself for now. As nervous as he was walking in, seeing Ophelia with the little ones really brought a surprising amount of peace to his heart that he hadn't been expecting.
"Oh, Ophelia, looks like the two of us are really going to have our paws full..." The black-furred tom said as he sat down next to Ophelia, although he was careful not to touch her, "How are you feeling?
Ophelia grinned, "good thing then that we have an older son to help out! Would you be a doll and get him? I think he should up by now." She wanted to share this moment with him, Badgerbee was her oldest and she was closest with him than anyone else. This even included her mate somedays. They were her closest friends in this clan and she loved them both dearly. But now she had that love to share with four more kits in their small family.
Oh right, Badgerbee. He loved his step son, he really did, but he wasn't sure that his energy levels would do Ophelia and the little ones any good if Steepfall summoned him so quickly. But Ophelia had spoken and the new father had no room to negotiate.
"Good idea, I'll fetch him right now," The black-furred Warrior mewed as he backed way from the makeshift nursery. He then padded over to where the Warrior's made their nests and nosed around until he found the tom in question.
"Badgerbee, get up, something's... happened. Don't panic. It's good, mostly. But you need to come with me and promise to keep your voice down and... stuff..."
