The abandoned warehouse was a pretty decent place to hunt. Bermondsey found himself slipping through the boarded up windows, his green eyes gleaming as he stalked across the concrete floor, the heavy machinery still, grey with the dust that had formed a cover on everything. The windows were high, the sun at just the right angle to send the dappled light scattering across his grey pelt.
A squeak could be heard, and he felt his lips twitch into a sneer, his body immediately pressed closer to the ground. Despite his lanky form, he was light on his toes, quickly moving forward towrds a little gray ball. A rat. He was almost about to catch it when a clatter could be heard on the other side of the room, and the creature immediately bolted forward, Bermondsey's second-delay making it impossible to grasp onto that creature.
Cursing under his breath, he turned to the origin of the sound. What the hell was that?
"Tut tut. You know better than to scurry out of my sight. You very nearly became the Warden's dinner," The rat can't been running away from Bermondsey but, instead, toward its master, a dark-furred tabby she-cat with hawk-like yellow eyes. She wasn't very beautiful nor ugly, instead straddling the weird in between that was the embodiment of her family name - Eerie.
"Apologies for spoiling your hunt," Circe purred as she casually approached Bermondsey. She was thin with strange proportions, her legs and tail too long for her torso and eyes too big for her head, "I just didn't want you killing that one. He has unique markings on his belly, they remind me of the stars..."

Bermondsey had seen stranger things than this, but a cat with a pet rat surely struck his own intrigue. Surely, the world must've changed when he was gone, if cats no longer saw their prey as food but as...what was this? A pet? For a brief moment, his expression was an amused one, and then he was reminded once more that it had been his dinner that was now out of reach.
"How are you, pray tell, going to compensate me for my dinner then?" he replied, sauntering towards the newcomer, his gleaming green eyes observing her as if she was a specimen in a study rather than a fellow league member like himself, "your name?" It was more of a demand than a question, even if it was framed with a faint lilt to his voice at the end.
"My name is Circe. I was raised in the League, but I'll forgive you for not recognizing me. I've been gone for the past several moons doing research," The she-cat replied. She looked sort of bored by this conversation, but she wasn't surprised by its contents. All toms were the same. If they weren't chasing her tail, they were thinking about their next meal, "Anyway. I'm sure you're more than capable of catching your own dinner, dear Warden. I won't even intervene next time even if you go after one of my subjects, how about that?"

Arrogant brat, he thought with a snort. Of course, cats around here always believed themselves so important that others should recognize them, but he didn't care much for others and their little lives. He was, however, curious about this little subject of hers. "A cat with a pet rat, and I thought I had seen everything," he raised a brow, "what do you plan on doing to these subjects of yours?"
There was something about this cat that just felt unusual. "Does this research of yours have any benefit to us all, or are you just the kind to experiment for the sake of nothing?"
"You sure ask a lot of questions," Circe purred, stroking the back of her rat's fur absentmindedly. The creature did not move but remained tense, clearly not a fan of its master's touch, "That's not very good habit in the League. Most are best left... unanswered."
The dark-furred tabby prodded the rat's side lightly, causing the rodent to squeak and turn its head to face her, beady little eyes fixated on Circe and Circe alone. Bermondsey may as well have been a tree stump.
"Bring me one of the ugly ones."
On command the rat ran off into the shadows and Circe turned her attention back fully onto her feline companion, "I've had a change of heart. I'll right my wrongdoing in exchange for the pleasure of your company this evening."

"You know I would keep quiet," he mused, as if truly thinking about the options, "if I was afraid of anything. Unfortunately, your little–" he looked over her, gesturing to...well, all of her, "show right here isn't as intimidating as you think." Information was power, after all, and if curiosity killed the cat, surely the satisfaction would bring Bermondsey back.
"And you'll right your wrongdoings how, exactly? By letting the prey go?" he could laugh, "unfortunately I've gotten a little lazy in the last couple of minutes; mind catching that for me?" His tone was purposefully light, kept on the edge of a sneer, detected only by the narrowed green gaze that had turned to Circe. "–and what pleasure is my company supposed to be? I didn't think you enjoyed my presence at all."
