It was rather interesting that Intrepidsoul was paired up with Steepfall to be his...bestie. Well that was the words used when told he was paired up with this individual. To the scout he had no clue who Steepfall was other than he was a warrior and fellow clan member. Steepfall always seemed aloof and tended to be by himself so the scout respectfully gave him distance. Now however...they were being forced into a situation that perhaps the warrior would not want. So the best the scout could do was hang with Steepfall without pushing him too far. The silver grey tabby sat quietly at the entrance waiting for his new "buddy" to show up. How difficult was this mission going to be? Jadie

Steepfall had RBF. Even when he was a kit and should have been at his cutest, most non-family members avoided him, thinking they'd surely get nibbled on or worse if they tried to interact with the scowling black-furred tom. It also didn't help that his mother was the notorious Foxbane, then Foxstar, who was at the peak of her tyranny when she dumped the half-Clan litter with their father in WaterClan and proceeded to disappear. Steepfall grew up a loner and in fact lived part of his life as one after the fall of WaterClan. He'd had to be tough and edgy back then... but in SwiftClan? Not so much.
"Uh, yeah, I guess we are supposed to do... something," Steepfall said, his voice a bit rigid, as was his frame. Intrepidsoul was a stranger so he was nowhere near opened up, but he was trying, "We can go fishing or something I guess."

"Sure, we can go fishing if that is what you prefer. I honestly don't mind either way...not picky in the least. Uh I am not the best fisher around here. So... where is the best place to go fishing?" The biggest thing Intrepidsoul was hoping for was to not annoy the other tom and be as respectful as he could be. Sure it was possible they could be friends but it certainty wouldn't happen in one outing. Perhaps they could at the very least become acquainted with one another.
"There's a decent pond at the edge of the park. The fish in it are... interesting, but good eating all the same," Steepfall made a point to locate all life-viable bodies of water in whatever territory SwiftClan called home and the amusement park was no exception. He motioned for Intrepidsoul to follow him, then lead the way down a narrow alleyway.

"These fish are... different than most." Steepfall expalined as he knocked some pebbles into the water, resulting in dozens of bright gold and whtie fish to spring to the surface and try to eat them (of course, the spit the pebbles out when they realized it wasn't food), "Typically fish scattered when something like that are thrown at them, but these ones can't get enough. I think it's because twolegs used to feed them so they are used to that kind of stuff. But anyways, they are quick kills and taste good enough, a perfect place for you to practice your skills. Now watch closely."
Steepfall padded over to the edge, reached in with his polydactyl front paw and seemingly effortlessly flicked a medium-sized fish out of the pool. It landed on the pavement with a thud and splashes around for a few moments before Steepfall walked over and deftly broke it's neck.

The scout had seen a lot in his day but had never seen anything like this before. He watched curiously as Steepfall took out the fish with ease. Intrepidsoul made his way over to the pond looking down into the depths of the waters. The tom was not used to seeing fish like this and couldn't help but be impressed by all the different colors there were with these rather dumb fish. They did not seem afraid of the cats looming above...or perhaps they didn't notice or cared. Either way the tom finally dove his paw in the water causing a white orange fish to be slapped onto land. It flipped and flopped this way and that away while chuckled. "This is way too easy but pretty nice I must admit. How did you find this place?"
"I have a nose for bodies of water. It's in my blood - I was born and raised in WaterClan, after all," Steepfall explained as he swiped out a bronze and black fish, this time breaking its neck not even a split second after it hit the ground, "I feel a little bad catching these guys, though. It's like they are lined up for the slaughter... At any rate, we do have a hungry Clan to feed so it's not like their sacrifice is going to waste. We should be able to carry one more back - would you like the honors?"
