"Morning, Roseshade," Brindlemist said as she poked her head in the witch's den. She'd been here dozens of times before just to hang out with her sister, but she'd never come her for its intended purpose, which was healing. She looked a bit nervous as she placed herself in her usual spot, "I... I've been getting sick every morning for the last few days. I've been doing my best to hide it, but now it's starting to happen at night too, and, well, I just wanted you to look me over and make sure everything was okay."

Roseshade had been putting away some of the herbs that Amberbird had helped her to find, it wasn't much but it was a start. She turned her head, only for her smile to faulter when Brindlemist indicated that she wasn't feeling well "Of course, come on in" she shoved the rest into one of the cubby holes, they could wait until after she had gotten to examine her sister "Have you eaten anything strange lately?" she questioned, while placing her paws onto the sides of Brindlemist's belly and pressing down gently to see if she could feel or hear anything "It is only the throwing up and nausea? Any other symptoms?"
"Nothing strange in particular..." Brindlemist said, wincing uncomfortably as Roseshade pressed down on her stomach. It was just slightly enlarged, although hard to tell beneath all her fluff. It could be anything, "... Just whatever Garsparkling brings me. We usually eat breakfast together before our patrols, but lately I haven't been able to keep much down, so I've been eating later in the day. I think the change in my schedule and season is what's bothering me, but Garsparkling insisted that I come see you."
It was a sort of roundabout answer. Brindlemist was always so honest and straightforward, but today she was stumbling over her words. Not herself. It was strange.
Roseshade chuckled, a slightly amused expression spreading across her face at the mention of Garsparkling "Well I have a sneaking suspicion, but I will have to have Amberbird confirm it to be sure" she paused sitting up "but I don't think you are really sick Brindlemist" she rose to her paws and grabbed some of the herbs she had gathered earlier to help soothe nausea and placing them at her sister's feet "You have been spending a lot of time with Garsparkling lately, and Its easy to see that you are getting close... and..." Roseshade leaned forefard until she could lick her sister's forehead with a warm purr
"Well there really is no other way to say this, I think you are pregnant"
"Really? You think so!?" Brindlemist's joy was palpable and she jumped to her paws so quick the sudden movement made her feel sick and she swayed into Roseshade's side and stayed there, celadon eyes shining brightly. She started giggling in a mixture of nervousness and happiness, "I'm so not ready to be a mom! But... Is anyone ever? I've got to tell Ferventsummer and Garsparkling and Robinring!"

Roseshade joined in on her sister's join, holding her tightly as she swayed to keep her from falling "Hey, hey, slow down sister", but there was no hiding the smile on her face. She was just as excited for Brindlemist, but managed to keep herself from acting on it in the heat of the moment so that Brindlemist wouldn't hit her head "Before you go telling everyone, we should have Amberbird check you. I could be wrong you know"
But her good mood was soon soured, as Brindlemist mentioned Robinring "especially HIM..." she refuesed to even say his name, just like a demon giving it a name would only give it power "Haven't I warned you enough already? Do not speak to him, do not look at him, and most importantly never be alone with him"
"Oh, don't be a badger, sister. Robinring is a dear friend of mine. I don't expect you to like him just because I'd like you to, but I would appreciate you being considerate of our friendship and not berating him at every chance you get," Brindlemist gently chided her sister, although her tone was still light and celebratory, she wasn't really mad, "But okay, okay, I will wait until Amberbird checks me. You can never be too sure with these things!"
"Yo, did you find out the news yet? Are you dying?" Garsparkling's yowl came from outside the den as the impatient tom finally decided it was time to enter. He had been waiting to respect his mate's privacy, but Roseshade had to be done by now, right? The yellow-and-grey tabby bounded into the den, his friend following swift and silent as a shadow at his side, and beamed a crooked grin at the pair. "Wazzup, Roseshade?" After she healed his illness he had been slightly more supportive of his sister-in-law. Robinring didn't even glance at his mate, his head tilting in a question as he looked at Brindlemist.
"Would you like me to step out and leave you three alone?"
Amberbird, since being released into Roseshade’s custody, has spent almost all of his time in the far back end of the den, out of sight. He’s not allowed out of camp, unless it’s to go with her to gather herbs, and other than that he’s confined to the healing den. For that reason, he’s true FYI stay out of the way. Plus his fur isn’t exactly made for the cold of the mountains and while the cavern the camp is in it warmed by the hot springs in the center of it, he still feels a bit do a chill. At this moment, he’s back in the car back of the den sitting through old herbs for one start will still be good a few days longer and those that will need to be taken out.
"Garsparkling, I told you to stay outside!" Brindlemist giggled, her celadon eyes bright and playful, she seemed extremely happy which, to a smart tom, would be a pretty good indicator of the news, "I--- I won't say anything until we're sure. Amberbird is in the back of the den, right, sister? How about you go fetch her for us so we don't have to wait any longer."
The dilute tortoiseshell leaned into her mate's side and wrapped her tail around his, "I can't wait much longer though, I'm not good at secrets.."

Roseshade smiled, leaving to go and speak with Amberbird "Amberbird, could you come and check my sister? I think she might be pregnant. All the signs are there, and I think I can feel the kits in her stomach, but I'm not certain" she knew that the other two cats wouldn't be able to over hear the two of them from in here "Her mate is in there with her,and she knows that I suspect it but he does not" there was a warm purr to her voice, something that was usually reserved only for her sister, but she couldn't hide how excited se was by the prospect of being an aunt. pao
Robinring studied Brindlemist's expression carefully, catching the news she was sharing. "Congratulations," he murmured, dipping his head.
"Roseshade isn't sure?" Garsparkling looked confused. "Isn't that like, her whole job?" See, this was why he didn't want her treating his old: still too young and inexperienced. But it seemed like everyone knew what was going on except him. "Am I missing something?"
Amberbird, started out of thoughts of his kitty pet home he longed to return too, jumped at the sound of another voice in this end of the den. The tom nodded his head slowly, not happy to be performing in front of a crowd. He’d never been comfortable with that, and cats looked down on him enough for his scaredy cat tendencies and stuttering. Stepping into the other room, he eyed those there and immediately flushed with embarrassment to be watched. He was their prisoner and was hoping none of them would want to actually speak to him because of that. “Wh-who who is….whi-which cat-cat is I’m in in need of ex-examin-examination?” His words were a quiet stutter no different than they’d the rest of his life. But some had seen him shine when working a jd thus had trusted him enough to allow the care he administered.

Roseshade padded back into the den with Amberbird, sitting down and her tail wrapped her paws "My sister" she answered, thinking that the answer was rather obvious since there was only one other she-cat in the den and she had told them that this was a pregnancy check. She was still new at this, but even she knew that toms couldn't get pregnant.
“Right! Ye-yes of of course. This way please. Um….did you..did you want privacy?” Some cats did, especially if they didn’t what to tell others just yet. Amberbird glanced around, finding many cats in the den and shrinking in on himself. Great a crowd, just what he hated. They judged and whispered and mocked him, especially about his speech and stuttering. Amberbird eyed the ground, not making eye contact with any of them. He’d do his job and disappear back into the back what he was dubbing his little hideaway.
