For the elders and those who want to join this unruly kit ]
The soon to be apprentice shuffled his paws angrily as he padded around camp. The ground, dry but not soft sent up small puffs of smoke as he stomped. He was mad, upset that soon he would be a warrior. He didnt want to be, hated the idea of having to kill prey and fight. It was dumb to him. Mintkit sighed, wondering why he couldnt just act like the other kits in the clan. His steps slowed as he neared the elders den, not really knowing he was there, his feet just stopping him upon his arrival. He plopped down near the entrance, laying on his side as he huffed.
Blue spotted the kit first and smiled. It'd been a while since anyone had come to visit, her own kits usually visited when they could but the clan had been busy with winter now here and prey harder to find than before. The old queen called out to the young kit, hoping to not scare him, "hello." She didn't move from her spot near the entrance but she gave him her best calming smile, one that had worked on all kinds of kist during her permanent stay in the nursery.

Mintkit blinked, his tail twitching. He heard someone call out to him, or maybe it was someone else. He looked about, for someone that it could be that the other cat was talking to instead of him. No. He was the only one around. He looked over to her, blinking again. He nodded in acknowledgement, eyes wide as he didnt quite know what to say, as if he wanted to say anything anyways. He didnt want to do anything anymore.
"Well come one in. No point sitting out there where someone will trip on you." She was thinking of one of her kits, a clumsy fool but a lovable one, when she said that. Paprika-acorn rarely looked where he was going and, like this kit, tended to just lay wherever he pleased and tripped people or himself in his escapades. Blue smiled, waving her tail for the kit to join her in her nest. She liked being near the entrance, able to see everything going on and still feel a part of the clan, even though she'd never been a warrior for them but a faithful queen who raised her own kits and helped others with theirs.

He blinked again, realizing that she was indeed talking to him. He almost wondered why, but it must have just been his location. He got up, rolling to his paws to move closer to the elder. Mintkits eyes narrowed slightly as he got closer, wanting now more than ever to be left alone now that he had put some attention on himself. He slunk as he got nearer and then stopped, a couple tail lengths away. Instead of throwing himself about though, he tucked his feet under himself, sitting up uncomfortably straight.
"Now, who might you be?" She knew most of the apprentice now because of them doing their duties and because she'd helped raise them as kits, but she only had names for some of the kits that resided in the nursery now. Blue smiled, making herself comfortable as she waited for the kits to respond. Oh, he looked grumpy alright, which had promoted her to call him over in the first place. That and to make sure he wasn't underfoot.

His eyes slid over the elder, narrowed, thin as daggers. "Mintkit," he huffed, looking at her, but not really. He shuffled his paws about, wondering just what she wanted. Why she cared. He was just a good for nothing kit anyways. Destined to be a terrible warrior, he was sure.
"Well, what seems to be the matter?" Kits didn't usually come around unless they wanted stories and even then a queen would bring them to help keep them all under control. Blue smiled at the kit, nearly laughing at the daggers he was sending.

"Its nothing," he snapped, his pelt fluffing up with a bit of anger. He had a hot temper that had just gotten worse as he aged. He looked away quickly, almost hating that he did snap. He wondered why he couldn't just accept what he had to do, "I mean." he started, pouting a bit without looking at her, "I just don't want to be a warrior." he decided, tail bristling as he said it.
"Oh." Well that was a little suprising. Though Blue had never been a warrior, hadn't even joined the clan until after she'd had kits and then had to join due to her home burning down. "Well, I'm not sure what's so great about being a warrior anyways?" It'd always confused her, though she'd grown up as a twoleg and had only moved to the clan becuase of her kits and mate. So she'd never grown up with the idea of being a warrior, merely a pretty housecat that helped her elder twoleg when needed. "But if you won't be a warrior, what will you do?"

He huffed. Honestly he was stumped by her question. He didnt know what he would do if he wasn't a warrior. Maybe he would just become an elder. He was grumpy enough at most times. "Theres nothing great about being a warrior. Not for me at least," he added, rolling his eyes. "What did you do when you were a warrior?" he asked, not really knowing her past.
"Oh, I was never a warrior." Straight and to the point, she scoffed at the notion that she would have been a warrior. Blue waved teh kit closer. "Now who told you I was a warrior? Becuase I can asssure you that that's not the case." She's not a fighter but a lover; a mother at heart, one that cares for those arund her and mothers all she incounters.
The voices were on the edge of his mind, present but distant. He had slept more deeply as of late, and he almost was able to ignore the cats talking nearby; but his curiosity got the best of him. Tipping his head back and parting his maw in a great yawn, Clarionfeather opened his eyes to see a little kit in front of his mate - and it wasn't one of theirs. A new visitor, then. He blinked sleepily, then rolled onto his belly so he could sit up.
"Good... whatever time it is," the elder greeted the pair.

"Nobody..." the kit mewed, looking away. "I just figured everyone here must have been a warrior at some point. And if you weren't a warrior, what were you anyways?" he chided, almost craning his neck away from the elder. However he inched closer, especially since the other had spoken up. He looked about with wide eyes but didnt respond. Quite unsure of who this other cat was.
"Well for a time I was a kittypet, but in the clan, I was a queen. I cared for everyone's kit, even my own." Blue had lived in the clan long enough to have learned somethings but it didn't stop her from asking her question because if she could do it why couldn't anyone else? "Why not become a queen if you don't want to be a warrior? I lived my life in the clan as one even after my kits were grown. So I don't see the problem with you helping to raise the kits. Heavens knows the queens can always use the help."

He almost scoffed. Almost. But he held his tongue. She had to be kidding, him? A queen? Ridiculous. "I dont think thats right for me either, I might as well go be a kittypet then." He sighed, looking defeated. He didnt like kits, didnt want his own, and couldn't imagine having to watch other cats kits... but he also couldn't see himself ever having to put his claws on a mouse or another cat either.
