Ash still filled the air as Littlestar entered back into SunClan's camp for the first time in ages. The SunClan cats had gathered here, now that the volcano had been stilled. She stopped for a moment, to face her son Lionpride. He was the oldest of her children, the one that most looked up to "Go ahead and gather our family" she pressed her nose to his cheek "I have something that I need to tell the others, then we will go" She had already gotten a message to him earlier through Silverfringe and he already understood her meaning
She slowly walked the long trek up to her former den. Her sides heaving from the effort, having to lean on Skipstep and Vixenkismet for support. The blood from the wound on her head was still oozing blood down her face that had to be wipe away. She was exhausted, but there was much to do before she could rest.
Slowly she padded into her former den, where a group of cats awaited her. Among them were Duskslayer, the current Janus, and Bravepaw. She could feel all their eyes turn onto her, though it was difficult to read their expressions
"I won't be long, you have nothing to fear from me...." she spoke, calm and self assured "I will be taking my family and leaving SunClan for good after I exit this den , but there is something that you should know before I go", the silver she-cat began to cough, pain shooting across her ribs and sides. She had to take a few moments to compose herself "SunClan is in great danger, from something far worse than Bloodycrow... An entity with enough power to rival even yours..." she paused having to remember what the Sun God preferred to be called now "Damek,"
"I witnessed it's powers first hand, and it has set it's sights on SunClan. I don't know when it will attack, but it has already infiltrated and begun to influence cats here.... Bloodycrow... he wore the same symbol it had painted onto to me as I was tortured and suffered, it was unique and distinctive. This... thing... was powerful enough to force a cat into sacrificing their child and grandchild. They killed the kit, while tears streamed down their face. I don't know how much power it had over Bloodycrow, but there is no doubt in my mind that it has been influencing him. I tell you this not to scare you, but so that you can be prepared. To begin looking for answers before it is to late. You are just newly awakened Damek, you need to focus on gathering your strength and memories"
Littlestar hadn't even yet told Vixenkismet nor Skipstep what she had endured while captured, though they knew it had been terrible, but she didn't give them much of a chance to think much about it "It is time for me to go now, I have no right to stand before you or remain here in SunClan after the things that I have done. I returned here for the sake of my family, nothing more"
"I won't be long, you have nothing to fear from me...."
"Oh good, cause I feared you were going to lea-" Duskslayer began to say.
"I will be taking my family and leaving SunClan for good-"
Yeah alright, that sounded about right.
"SunClan is in great danger, from something far worse than Bloodycrow... An entity with enough power to rival even yours..."
"Are you friggin' kidding me?" Duskslayer exclaimed. What the absolute heck, congrats Dusky, your leader now, have fun with the political unrest, ruling a cult that views your son as a god now, and inheriting an evil entity more powerful than a god.
"Of course Little," Duskslayer said dipping his head down in a sign of respect, but in actuality bowed his head closer to his son, whispering in a lower tone, "Yeah we are getting the fluff out of here, just wave until she turns the corner."
Divinehope was sitting among the other Janus, listening to Littlestar speak of leaving and a new entity endangering their clan. She couldn't ignore the plain signs that Littlestar was falling and falling fast. However, she also couldn't ignore the rising anger in her chest as Littlestar chose to abandon them. She stood up before Littlestar. The young, kitten-like Janus was no longer the size of a small apprentice. She had grown since Sunclan faced it's first threat. She had ridden it all out, fought with every fiber in her body until she lay exhausted and bleeding on the blood soaked battle field, and to find out that another danger was among them made her feel dizzy. She swayed on her paws for a moment before standing strong and brave in the face of a cat much larger and powerful than most. "With all due respect, Littlestar, I can't believe you would abandon us once more. I had high hopes that you would return and save us but your only running away. We finally have you back and you want to leave. Stay and help us fight this thing!"
Resilientbloom's eyes widened. "B-but mother, this is our home." She said. Worst of all she didn't think her siblings would come if Littlestar told them they were leaving. Though she'd become isolated after becoming a Janus from a good portion of her clanmates and her siblings to an extent as well (except for Ferventprayer). She knew her siblings had little connection to their mother, and more connection to their clanmates.
"We can't abandon our clanmates," Resilientbloom said. "They were just as much victims of Bloodycrow as we were, and I fear trying to tear our family from SunClan will only tear it apart beyond repair."
"Many of our clanmates stood by as they tore our family apart," Skipstep muttered. There was bitterness in the tom's voice. "I understand they all suffered horribly as a result, but-"
"What choice did they have?" Resilientbloom cried. "The strongest members that could've stood against Bloodycrow all left!" She said looking pointedly to Vixenkismet. "I might've been too small to remember what happened but Bloodycrow had the control, what choice did any of us have?! The code made him the law of our clan! The law mother upheld before him. Worst of all, mother picked him!"
She turned to Littlestar, "I want our family back! I want our clan to be better! Everyone talked about how we were the greatest and strongest and just bestest clan. But I've yet to see it! So that means the problem is with how it's run, and that means it needs a leader to fix it. We have to fix it."

"Doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result, isn't that the definition of insanity?" she paused allowing her words to sink in to those that had heard them "My time as High Priestess has passed, I lost any claim to that title the moment I killed the Sun God" her eyes fell upon Bravepaw, watching his face carefully for his reaction, though thus far he had remained silent as she announced her intentions to leave
"While some might welcome my return, generations have been born, grown, and promoted without ever knowing me as anything but the monster that killed the Sun God. To convince them otherwise, would take precious time that the clan doesn't have. SunClan needs a leader that they can trust in completely if it is to survive what is to come. My continued presence here will only add to the unease, when the clan should be united more than ever. They need a cat that they can stand behind, that can inspire trust and change" The silver she-cat closed her eyes taking in a deep breath, before touching her nose to her daughter Resilientbloom's forehead "You are right, change needs to happen in SunClan, but it is not going to happen over night. It is going to take time, effort, and compromise"
"I am not giving up on defeating this entity, but right now my family and stopping this entity has to be my priority. I am not leaving SunClan to run away from the threat SunClan now faces, but to chase after it" there was determination in her gaze "If this... thing... succeeds, it is not just SunClan that will be in danger but all of the clans. I can not afford to be distracted, not when the lives of those whom I care for lie in the balance" HoneystormJetclaw
Duskslayer stepped forward to meet with Littlestar, "I don't want SunClan, but you don't deserve to be priestess," His voice lowered, a dark velvety coldness surrounded his breath, soft, but frigid, "you can say you know that, but you don't. That kid that you called a son was my best friend and I watched him lose every piece of himself day after day until he became unrecognizable. You did that. He looked up to you and you told everyone to call him an idiot. You thought teaching him a lesson should be to make his own family attack him, what a friggin' sick thing to do," His turquoise gaze stared deep into her empty eyes, tears welling up, but he brushed them away with a smirk, "But you know what's the cruelest betrayal? I hate the way all the same people cried out how he could do such a thing, but were silent when it was you mistreating him."
He rubbed a paw down the side of his face, a raw lump weighed in his throat, but he pushed past the feeling, but not the tears, as they drew tracks down his cheeks, "What I want is his stupid grin back, I want all the parts of him that you convinced him he should hate back. I want all the bad things he did to have never have happened... I want him back..."
Duskslayer inhaled in a breath, recollecting himself, "I always thought of evil as someone who murders another. But you kill people's self worth, Little, anything that contradicts you and your beliefs. God, you tore his soul from him and I watched him fight so hard to hold onto it until he couldn't anymore. It's never the care takers like you that get enough credit for creating the brainwashed psychos of society, but I hope I gave you enough of it. I'm leaving and I hope you do too, but I doubt I'll be that lucky."

Up until now, Bravepaw had been essentially silent, sort of turning his head between all the present cats with an expression that appeared to be dawning horror, and definitive discomfort. Whatever confidence he'd had in saving SunClan and exiling Bloodystar, it seemed diminished now, and he looked rather tired of the wait of it all. "So, you're all just going to leave me." It wasn't a question, so much as a tired statement.
"You're just going to yell at each other, dump all this information, and get out, patting yourself on the back for saying your piece, and in the morning, I'm going to be the only one here to deal with everything. Good for you I guess, you get the option of running away. I don't. And don't tell me that I can do whatever I want, dad." Damek looked increasingly frustrated as he spoke. "I can't get rid of these memories, I can't get rid of these powers, you think I wouldn't do that if I could? I'm stuck fixing this, because no matter where I go, I won't be able to escape the fact that I just left the entirety of SunClan to die. You know what I see when I think of this entity? I see SunClan shrouded in mist, everyone dead, kits, apprentices, warriors. I see Littlestar alone in camp, having failed to save them. I see a misty prison that far too many cats are trapped in. I don't even know how I know that, but I can't just leave SunClan to a certain doom and say it's not my problem, when I don't even know if it's my fault!"
Skipstep snarled. "You don't get to lay all of Bloodycrow's evils at Littlestar's paws." He hissed at Duskslayer. "Bloodycrow chose his own ruin, and he clearly deserved worse." He spat. "He got off easy for what he's done. Don't sit there and tell me how much you want Bloodycrow back when he destroyed my family. I have to look at the devastation he wrought to my innocent children. To my clanmates. I'm no saint, nor is Littlestar, but Bloodycrow chose his own destiny, and he dragged down SunClan with it."
"Which is why we need to stay!" Resilientbloom said. "How about stop throwing around blame and realize the situation we're in!"
Resilientbloom took a deep breath and let it out. "None of my siblings see you as their mother Littlestar. You tell them we're leaving SunClan they won't follow you. If you leave, you'll be telling SunClan Bloodycrow was telling the truth and you are the monster. And maybe you are, I don't know I was a child!"
She could feel her eyes watering. "I was a child and Bloodycrow shoved me into this role! And I had to sit there with a paw between both worlds, knowing you loved me, knowing you were my mother, and it kept me isolated from my siblings who grew up to despise you and see Bloodycrow as our father. I forgot what father looked like because it had been so long, and every time I thought father, it was Bloody."
Her ears flattened. "SunClan is the only home I've known and I won't leave it. I might not be close to my clanmates but they're still my clanmates. All I've had to cling to is to try and do right by them, so that's what I'm going to do!"
She let out a shuddering breath and she turned to Bravepaw. "I know my voice doesn't matter, even though the moons have passed I never stopped feeling like a stupid kit in a role too big for me. I get that struggle... well not the power but the responsibility." She said quietly.
"Watching everyone suffer and know you're supposed to do better, so I'm going to at least try! And you should too mother!" Resilientbloom said tail lashing as she looked at Littlestar again. "Face the clan and take it back! Take back our family! Fix it! If it takes moons, seasons, lifetimes at least we tried. If this evil's coming for SunClan anyways, better we face it together than alone!"
"So you're going to stay?" Duskslayer asked in return to his son, patting away the tears from his own cheeks.
"I don't even know where you get these ideals from!" Duskslayer yelled in exhaustion, but slowly recomposed himself, "Probably from your past lives," He reminded himself more calmly. He held onto a breath before gently releasing it, there was no control he had over the situation or his family, uncontrollable chaos was nothing to fear, but accept. Chaos was like water, not every wave of water was going to be a rough one, even if he choked a little on the information maybe this was what his family wanted.
"You can save it Skipstep, I'm too exhausted to process any heart warming message about change or whatever you're trying to sell me on right now," Duskslayer said flatly, but then added more softly, "But I am sorry for the outburst in front of everyone, that wasn't cool. I should have talked to Little privately, I'm just a bit emotional after we all almost died and my friend hit peak insanity."
Although Resilientbloom made him do a double take before responding calmly, but edging on insanity as he slowly explained, "The situation you're in is that you're in a clan that routinely is lit on fire for a year and NO ONE has ever said, "hey, let's move up north a bit." because everyone here is CRAZY."
Rubbing his temples he looked back at Bravepaw before looking back at everyone else "You guys continue your going away party or whatever this is going to turn into, I'm going to sidebar with Brave," Duskslayer decided before motioning Bravepaw in a direction and walking with him. Sitting down he looked at Bravepaw, there was zero difference in the way his eyes met him, like the news of him being god had no impact.
"I know this can't be sudden news for you. I said it from the start that I wasn't staying in SunClan. I was here to try and save Bloodystar, like Glowstar had tried to do for Foxstar and just like her I didn't succeed. I had never heard any mention that you liked SunClan or wished to stay outside of that boy that you like. Why are you upset with me, my brave son?"
Divinehope felt for Duskslayer. She lowered her ears at his outburst, feeling her heart ache for the pain the tom was going through. Her good eye switched between Littlestar and Duskslayer as they spoke back and forth and flinching as Skipstep barged into Littlestar's defense. "Listen to you all. Blaming each other for a path another cat had chosen to take? Mistakes were made, damages were done, lives were taken but we are Sunclan. What clan has honestly been able to say that they've defeated a god, taken down an elemental dictator, survived a volcano eruption and their entire land scorched! And we are still standing strong and standing our ground. Now is not the time to fall apart."
She turned her one good eye at Littlestar. "You may not be welcomed back with open arms, Littlestar, but you can make a difference. You can turn all of this around! We can be the Sunclan every other clan feared again! In my opinion, they should fear us even now! Look at what we've managed to pull through! Sunclan is a different breed of cat. We survive catastrophic phenomenon's like it was a gentle breeze blowing through our camp. If we can accomplish as much as we have, we can fight off this entity too. with or without you, Littlestar."

Bravepaw's ears flattened as Duskslayer yelled at him, staring at his father with a hurt look. Of all the things he could remember, he didn't ever recall being yelled at by his dad all his youth. Advised against things yes, but never yelling. Which was probably part of the reason he silently followed his father to talk a bit more privately. In many ways, he was the same son Dusky had always known, but now the flames flickered through his fur, faint embers swishing with the movement of his paws. Even if his father treated him the same, it was quite clear he was no longer 'normal'. "I don't like it here." He lamented, not quite meeting Dusky's eyes. "But I can't leave, even if I want to."
He rubbed his eyes, trying to hide the frustrated tears in them. "And now everyone is trying to leave me. I just found out I'm apparently a god, I don't even know who I am anymore. But instead of sticking around to help me figure it out, you and Littlestar and everyone else want to leave, so I'm stuck facing whatever this new problem is all alone. And I don't even know if I deserve to have everyone helping me, I'm all SunClan has, but there's a lot of cats who hate me because of what the Sun God... what I? did to them." Damek leaned forward, burying his face in his paws. He knew he'd done bad things, but in his memories, he didn't feel bad. But there were so many of them, it was like one thing after another after another, memories, powers, things that he had no hope to properly explain, and there was no one, absolutely no one, who could understand. He was utterly alone. Faith
"I didn't know you were going to stay until just now. I wasn't leaving you, I thought I was leaving with you," Duskslayer said in a pleading, but empathetic tone for his sons hurt. He leaned his paw into Bravepaw, bringing him closer to his chest. His heart broke feeling his son moved forward into a sob, "Oh buddy," He soothed softly, his tongue moving gently against Bravepaw's shoulder to calm him, "No one's trying to leave you," He promised him, trying to catch his gaze, "I don't think anyone knew you were planning on staying until you just announced it... And I'm sorry I yelled at you, I just-" He closed his eyes, breathing in for a moment before speaking, "I remember being your age and feeling like I had no other choice. That no one was going to take care of my dad so I had to stay. I wish someone had just snapped at me and told me to do what was best for myself."
Duskslayer rubbed his paw down Bravepaw's back, his level headed demeanor returning with each stroke. There was no better grounding than being in the presence of his kits. "My sweet hearted kiddo, we're going to get through this, it doesn't have to be scary. And I do get it and you know why? Because there's a position more powerful than god and that's being your dad. I'm your dad first, above everything else. And people can say I have the option to leave, but I don't, because leaving you isn't an option so we can be stuck together, okay? We can be stuck here together and I can still make you your toasted cinnamon honey crisp apple mice. And we'll hang on to normal, right? Because it's a lot and you're going to need time where you can discover yourself, relax. Your dads, not going anywhere and I'm so sorry you got worried, I'm sorry again for yelling, we'll have each other, we'll figure this out."

Littlestar placed her paw onto Skipsteps, lightly shaking her head. She would by lying if she said the words that came out of Dukslayer's mouth didn't sting, but they were truthful. Words spoken from his heart, and she wouldn't take that from him. The pain written all over his face only cementing what she had come here to do for he wasn't wrong, she didn't deserve to be High Priestess. Not after the things that she had done.
However it was what Bravepaw said next that sent a visible shiver down her spine, her golden gaze locking onto his... So he has seen it to. The horror that awaited SunClan if she remained, but before she could answer Bravepaw was pulled aside by his father as the two whispered back and forth. Littlestar rose to her feet touching Resilientbloom and Divinehope on their noses, both strong and independent she-cats that she had been training in the temple away from Bloodystar's watchful eyes "You are both still so young, and have much to learn" she pulled away a little tearful "I want you both to come with me, but I can not force you to do so. Only give you the choice...." she paused looking between them "It's not that I don't want to stay, I can not stay. It is no longer an option that I can choose" she had to take in a few deep breaths to compose herself "This is about the things I have done in my past, or how cats feel about me in the present. This isn't about what I deserve or don't deserve, right now I have to think about what is best for SunClan and those I care for... This entity is cruel, using any and all weaknesses that one possesses to manipulate them into serving it's will. It has been inside my head, even the darkest corners that I keep hidden away. Don't think for a moment that it wouldn't hesitate to use you against me" he reached over lightly lifting Resilientblooms chin with her paw "I love you to much for that. You don't know what it is capable of..."
Divinehope hung her head as she listened to Littlestar speak. She would greatly miss Littlestar. She wished she could take Littlestar up on her offer but she knew her place was in Sunclan and she had to defend it at all cost against this new rival. "But...what about the elementals? There's so many in the forest. Surely if we brought them all together, they could defend the forest of this entity." She replied, looking up from staring at her paws. "Then you wouldn't have to leave us. Surely this entity isn't nearly as strong as four clans filled with elementals and experimentals. We could fight it off and win if we can convince the other clans for a temporary alliance." She was almost pleading at this point. She didn't want to watch her clan be decided because of this enemy.
Skipstep pressed himself against Littlestar, offering her his support and love. No matter what failings they both had, he loved her and that was unquestionable.
Resilientbloom's ears drooped. "But mother if we come together and restore SunClan it's like Divinehope said we can repair the broken bonds. Return to our place among the forest clans and work together to stamp out this evil! Or better yet just... at least bring us all back together so SunClan can face it together not divided."
"You're the one who can bring our family back together mother, but you have to realize our family is also the clan. We can't turn our backs on them!" Resilientbloom cried.

Littlestar took in a deep breathe "You still do not understand" she leaned against Skipstep, her strength starting to fail the longer this dragged on. "With this entity, the size of your army doesn't matter. Even if all the clans by some miracle were able to work together. This... thing... it gets inside your head. It turns cats against one another, forces you to do evil and cruel things. It has already seen my weakness, it knows the key to my heart" she lifted her paw and gently stroked her daughter's cheek "You" she paused, trying to hold back tears that were threatening to spill onto her cheeks
"This thing takes even the most pure of souls and twists them into something unrecognizable. I'm not turning my back on my family or clan, I'm trying to protect you... from me" she stopped looking between the two Janus "As High Priestess what would stop me from comitting such atrocities? Who would have the power to step up, to fight against what I decreed? Wasn't that made clear with Bloodystar as your High Priest? The horror having that much control over the lives of others can bring? How power corrupts ones soul until you can't recognize them any longer?"
He gaze flickered over to where Duskslayer and Bravepaw spoke in hushed whispers "Duskslayers word were harsh, but he wasn't wrong. I never meant to set Bloodystar on this path, but I did. The things I put him through were inexcusable, and I will have to carry the weight of that for the rest of my life. I saw him as a threat to my daughter, and I was cruel. Bloodystar will never be the same cat that he was because of the things that I did, but then again neither will I. I can not go back and change what happened, but I can keep from making the same mistake twice" she stopped her eyes narrowing in on the newly awakened Sun God "So long as the cats of SunClan can't speak out against their High Priest or the Sun God, things here will never change"
"I didn't know I was going to stay either, until everything happened." Bravepaw answered quietly, sniffling as he rubbed at the tears. His shoulders slumped slightly, relief evident in his face at his father stating he wouldn't leave. He wouldn't be here alone. Even if his siblings went back, he would have his dad here at least until he got his footing. That made him feel better. "Bloodycrow was the Sun God's fault too, Littlestar too. That means they're my fault too, because old me didn't do better?"
Damek spoke as if he was unsure, but almost resigned to the idea. "And I can't just ignore my mistakes because it's easier to say it's not my problem. I don't think Grandma Shule would like me shirking duties very much." He laughed a bit at that, and although it was a rather pitiful sound, it did raise his spirits a tad to think of the Regime Commander getting mad at him because he slacked in his work now that he was healthy, and a god no less. If this all turned out to be a dream, he was never going to complain about his parents being busy and doing hard things again. "Thanks for staying."
He leaned in, giving his father a hug that probably made himself feel better more than it helped Dusky any, considering the tom got his fur soaked with whatever tears the silver-cinnamon tabby hadn't wiped away. Faith
The fur raised along his spine a moment later, though, as he felt Littlestar's gaze on his pelt, her harsh words grating on his already raw soul, and he turned around slowly, reddened eyes from crying meeting hers. He looked more normal than god in the moment, but even she wouldn't miss the faint swirl of heat that seemed to coil around the den in response to the amber eyed tom's slight agitation. "Nothing is ever going to get better if you think that my reincarnation thanks to you was in vain, and that I'm not wanting to fix this." He motioned around vaguely. "If you can trust me enough to try and fight whatever this thing is that would be happier if we both failed, then trust me enough to give me the chance to prove to you I'm more than the god you killed a lifetime ago. Nothing necessary is easy right? I had to take herbs every day to get my fur to grow, to grow strong enough to be here in the first place. It wasn't easy to watch my siblings grow and play without me, tease me about what I couldn't do. But I needed to do it to become me. Whether you stay or leave, SunClan has no hope if we both aren't working to save it, together, even if that seems hard to do." His fur laid flat as he spoke, the heat lessening into a comforting sort of warmth that kissed gently up against the pelts of the present felines. racer
"Brave," Duskslayer said, gently moving his sons face back to look at him, "If we found out tomorrow that I was the reincarnation of a king who electrocuted innocent people to death with an unnatural amount of power would you love me any different? Would you hate me even though I've never shown a portion of that side of myself before? Would you tell me that their deaths are my fault, even though I carry only his memories and scraped clean soul? Would you believe that any power in this world could make me turn on my values or our family? You wouldn't, right? So why would you treat yourself so indifferently from the compassion and mercy that you show others? SunClan is good at fueling self hatred, but what your inner self truly needs is unconditional love starting from yourself. Those are the qualities of a great leader, a force more powerful than any god given power you have. And you will get there so long as you hold onto what I said and never forget to devote forgiveness and love to yourself. Promise? Promise to never forget to love who you truly are."

Most of the cats had fallen silent, as she looked between their young faces, even those that were not her children. Divinehope, Dancingflame, Bravepaw.... They were the future of SunClan, not her... So why was it that her paws remained glued to the floor, when her heart longed to go. She took a few moments as Bravepaw spoke to mull over that very question. It shouldn’t have been hard to leave, how many times had she imagined returning for her family and taking them away from here? The long nights in which she dreamt of revenge for the evils her family had suffered, and yet she let Bloodystar walk away?
But it was Bravepaw’s words that got to her, not his comment about working together but as he described his kithood... The cat standing before her was the Sun God, but at the same time he was just a frightened apprentice. A young cat that hadn’t asked for this. A young cat that needs guidance... She could already see the drastic change in his personality, his hopeful words that cut even through all her own self doubt and misery. She took in a deep breathe, as the answer to her question came to her. The reason it was so difficult for her just to walk away from this, it was the ones she would be leaving behind. This kits and apprentices who had been born and raised in this chaotic world, the ones who didn’t have the choice to just walk away.
”“SunClan has to change if it is going to survive what is to come. Our cats need to be able to think for themselves, and not blindly follow authority. This change will not happen over night, but Bravepaw... it seems as if you understand that more than I first thought... I will stay....” she paused taking in a deep breath as she tried to put words to the complicated emotions that courses through her “But I need you to promise me this, even though it will be a heavy burden for you to bare” now she was looking directly at Bravepaw and Duskslayer “Just as I once stopped your reign of terror over SunClan, if I loose my path once more you must do the same for me” she allowed her words to sink in, and though she didn’t say those words directly the meaning was clear. She would rather die than become the monster she so feared@honeystorm
Bravepaw's head turned to Duskslayer as he spoke, his father's words echoing in his mind. Of course he'd think the best of his father... but his dad didn't understand how overwhelming it all was. It was more than memories, it was the emotions, the thought patterns, the lines of reasoning and conviction in one's own actions despite how horrible they might have been. It wasn't simply watching memories from the perspective of the god he'd been. He understood on a level deeper than mere knowing that they were one and the same, that this wasn't the first time this had happened, and however long it took... it probably wouldn't be the last, because he couldn't predict an eternity from now. "Should I be making that promise, if it's one I don't know if I can keep?" He asked Dusky quietly. Faith
Littlestar's words made him turn his head, surprised slightly, at her choice to stay. Of course she had to add that little thing in there. Killing her if it came down to it. He blinked slowly. "Only if you promise to do the same for me a second time, if I turn back into who I was, instead of being who I am now. A life where I forget who my family is, who I am, and become someone who was willing to hurt those around me without criticism isn't a life I want to live, god or not. We've both seen what comes when you forget yourself." He didn't need to say Bloodycrow's name for the tom to pop up in both of their minds. "So let's make sure neither of us actually come to a point where we need to act on this promise for each other, okay?" racer
