A sigh of relief escaped her before Bramblepaw could pretend like she wasn't abnormally pleased with Blueflame's response. So her mom was a self-sacrificing mouse-brain. Fine. At least she wasn't as willing to throw her unborn kits' lives away in the process. She couldn't even be upset about Blueflame being forced to stay in the nursery since it might mean she'd be kept out of danger for the time being. With that reassuring realization, Bramblepaw padded forward and gave her a gentle nudge. "I can't wait to meet my brothers and sisters! Do you know how far along you are?" Out of the corner of her eye, she observed Poisonrush. She'd been so wrapped up by Blueflame's difficult personality to remember he was the father here. He must be very excited about the pregnancy too.
He was still at a loss for words. Although his kids were already in their apprenticeship and well on their way to becoming warriors, didn't seem a bit too early to have more children? He paced back and forth inside the den, trying to calm himself. Regardless of the case, he would love them all the same. But how long did Blueflame know about the pregnancy or did she just find out? If she knew, then why would she put herself at risk like she did? So many questions ran through his head. Finally calming himself, he stopped next to Blueflame and Bramblepaw. "I can't say I'm not excited for kits but you can't scare me like that," he said sternly to Blueflame.
FlurryofstarspLuto we can time skip whenever you guys want to her attempting to break out of teh nursery lol
Blueflame's smiled falter a little when she saw her mate pacing instead of being excited right off the back. She was sure he'd be just as happy as she was even with all that had happened today. Kits were always good news in her opinion! At least her daughter was reacting with the same level of happiness about it all as she was. Someone shared in her joy. "Not to far, maybe a third of the way there? I'll ask Chestnutheart again to be sure. But I'm afraid I'm stuck on bed rest until they're here thanks to my hip and the monster." Her eyes turned to lock on her mate's a stern look on her face. "I didn't plan any of this but I wouldn't change anything. That kit was in danger and if he was one of my own I'd be ever thankful that someone, anyone rescued him. I'd do it again too."

(I'm ready whenever)
One-third of the way was still pretty far along in Bramblepaw's opinion and it made her smile so much it hurt. She couldn't wait to meet her new siblings and teach them everything she knew. Hopefully, there'd be at least one girl in the litter, but she'd love them all no matter what. Her smile suddenly felt strained when Blueflame addressed Poisonrush again. What would it take for her mother to realize that risking her life wasn't always the answer? She was exhausted from repeating herself though, so she tried a new angle. Basilkit shouldn't have been outside of camp in the first place and that was a problem in itself. "You shouldn't have to do it again. If the nursery aids were doing their jobs, Basilkit wouldn't have ended up on the thunderpath and you wouldn't have gotten hurt trying to save him. Really, we should bring this up with Hystericstar."
pLuto you chill with skipping? we can move like a week or two in advance, I have no personal idea how long cats are pregnant so I'm gonna go google it real quick but we can at least get some fun in
pLutoFlurryofstars Alright jumping two weeks so about half way/. Figured out cats are pregnant for 58-67 days according to google and so I'm going with nine weeks. This puts us in week 5 for role play purposes.
Blueflame was growing restless. She was already tired of being in the nursery. Usually mothers didn't have to retire to the nursery until around week five or so of their pregnancy. Poor Blueflame has been here since week three, two weeks longer than she really wants to be. Last pregnancy she didn't retire to the nursery until week six! Now...now she's in here for an extra three weeks and it's driving her crazy. Edging near the entrance to the den, the orange and white tabby peaked out the opening. So far, she did see anyone, at least not anyone paying her much attention, and especially not her mate. He's not in sight and so her plan for escape, for a walk through through the territory was a go! Step Two: get to the entrance of camp. On a stiff limb, one she swears would be moving better if they allowed her to move around more, she began her task of sneaking along the edge of camp like a naughty kit trying to escape the nursery and the watchful eyes of their mother.

“Uh, what are you doing?” Bramblepaw asked from under the shade of a tree. She’d been out of sight only by coincidence and wasn’t trying to spy on her mom, but when she walked into the apprentice’s line of sight, it wasn’t like she could just ignore what was going on. Blueflame was clearly trying to be sneaky and in the direction of the camp’s main entrance. Her eyes twitched as the realization dawned on her and Bramblepaw rolled her head back to shout, “Dad! Mom’s getting into trouble again!”
Poisonrush's eyes shot open at the sound of his daughter's voice. He should have known better than to take a nap at a time like this but it was one of the few times he was free to do so. Any other time he would have either been on patrol or performing menial tasks around camp. Now that Blueflame was nearing that time to give birth, he had to get whatever rest he could before the kits came. But her constant troublemaking was ruining that. Sighing deeply, he arose from his nest and exited the warriors den. Searching the clearing, he spotted Bramblepaw and Blueflame.
"Blueflame! What do you think you're doing?" he called out in a loud voice with a slight hint of agitation. At a time like this, she should be in the nursery, not trying to sneak out. "You know good and well you shouldn't be on your feet. Go back to the nursery!"
Blueflame cringed at her daughter's voice. So close! She'd nearly made it out of camp. Five minutes, that's all she wanted. A five minute walk, most queens were allowed that, so what was the big deal? The orange tabby tried to hurry towards the entrance like a kit caught in trouble. Maybe she could at least sit out, that was better than just being in camp all day. She was going crazy with it too! Then she heard her mate's voice and knew the gig was up. With a sigh, she settled down into a seat right where she was at, pouting like the kit she was acting like. "Wow, like I don't know anything. I just wanted a walk, to stretch my legs."

Yeah, uh huh. Bramblepaw wasn’t buying it. She crouched down to inspect Blueflame’s leg and noticed it did look a little stiff, but if her mom was properly following Chestnutheart’s instructions, then it shouldn’t be a problem much longer. “Well, you can get a good stretch in on your walk back to the nursery then. I’m sure if you’re feeling restless or sore, Chestnutheart can give you something if it means you don’t wander places you shouldn’t.” Wow, she felt like such a mom!
Poisonrush cracked a smile, breaking his serious demeanor. Bramblepaw was handling the situation rather well; he was proud. "Just do as your daughter says, Blueflame and," he sighed, "I'll take you out later today, if you want to go out that much." It was a simple compromise that she shouldn't, rather, couldn't refuse. "Does that sound good to you?"

Letting out a small gasp, Bramblepaw turned to give her dad an incredulous look. Wasn't she supposed to stay in the nursery? Was Poisonrush just as rebellious as Blueflame? She'd never have guessed. Bramblepaw kept her thoughts to herself though. She'd just make sure to keep an eye on them if they really did go out later. All of her stealth training could really be put to the test then.
Poisonrush noticed his daughter's look and gave her a sheepish look. "Hey, if your mom is determined to go somewhere, she'll do it. It'd be best if she didn't try and go by herself. No need to worry, I'll be there."
Poor Bramblepaw. Doesn’t realize how childish her mom is and that her poor dad is too smitten to tell her no lol
Blue flame felt defeated but she conceded anyways. Poisonrush wasn’t one to say something and then not do it so she’d at least get a short walk later, which was definitely better than staying in the nursery much longer. Poor queen was going stir crazy in there. Plus she’s the only one in there right now! So there’s no one to talk to but herself and the walls of the den. She was giggling though at the slight glare and disbelief that Bramblepaw was giving her parents. And started truly laughing at her mate say he’d practically be babysitting her. It was Kind do looking like Süd- be getting both of them in the nursery with her. Well, at least then she’s not alone in there.

Bramblepaw sighed, giving in to her parents’ wishes on this. No matter what she thought, they were adults and in the end, they’d have the final say in all of this anyway. “Fine,” she said, turning between the two without hiding her skepticism. “But if anything goes wrong, I’ll have both of your heads.” Then, she turned around and walked away. She’d just have to hope they’d be careful.
A few days later, she attempted the same thing. She wanted out of camp and could t stand sitting around anymore. Even with her last pregnancy she wasn’t one to sit around. It’s not in her nature. Blueflame started with a lap around camp, sure she could get away with this. But her paws still felt restless and her eyes were drawn to the camp entrance once more.
Poisonrush gave Bramblepaw a reassuring smile as he watched her leave. Although he was a bit disappointed that she would have such little faith in him. Surely nothing would happen while they were away.
"You won't have to worry about that!" he called out to her.
