Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Wintrystar family thread, placed after Cloudweaver and Icyhaven get married as well as after the kits are promoted to students. So after the gathering too. @turtlenoir biyuu ☆彡FaithstrawberrycupidJadieHoneystormCleaver
Wintrystar knew their family had been blessed as of late. All her kits were now students of the clan and her brother had been married recently as well. Things were looking up for them. For such an occasion, she'd called them all out to the Sapphire Springs, where they'd be able to enjoy the day for themselves. Gossip[, play, relax. It was her goal for the day. Much had happened recently, good and bad, and they needed to reconnect. She glanced around, dropping the prey she'd been carrying for them to enjoy, each of them had brought something to snack upon for their lunch. Overall, life was good.
"Just you want until I grow up bigger than you! Then you'll be sorry for all the times you dunked me under wa-mkjfgkew!"
Reapingpaw wasn't born the runt of the litter, but he was currently the smallest, as all he rest of his siblings had begun to hit a growth spurt that continued to allude him. Kits, apprentices or Warriors, all cats naturally bullied the weakest link, so it was no surprise that one of his more boisterous siblings had been dunking him under the Sapphire Springs routinely since they had arrived. It was fun at first, but Reapingpaw was getting sick of it.
After a few seconds that felt like forever, Reapingpaw's face broke the surface and, at the same time that he gasped for air, he bit down, hard, on whoever had been dunking him's nose.

Surprisingly, it wasn't Deathpaw messing with Reapingpaw.
Now that his other siblings had caught up to his growth spurt, he wasn't constantly the butt of jokes. Now that it went to Reapingpaw, he got to enjoy his time out of the limelight. And with it came his silence. Apprenticehood was like the pinnacle of edgy behavior, and he was ready to get a head start on it. So he watched the family gathering quietly, yellow eyes scanning the group as he swiped the first piece of prey from the fresh kill pile.
Pomegranatepaw looked down at the mess that Reapingpaw was causing by not staying under the water and struggling when she dunked him. She was growing bored with the game though and looked towards her mother and the rest of the family as they wandered in. Stepping out of the warm water, she approached them, a sweet smile on her face. "Hi, Mama!" Sweet and innocent, at least that's what everyone always saw at first glance. But many were learning otherwise. She settled next to her brother Deathpaw, shaking the remains of the water from her pelt at him.
Cloudweaver blinked as he eyed the cats in front of him, wondering if dunking another relative in water repeatedly was some kind of family tradition he'd been missing out on all these years, or if this family was just kind of dysfunctional. He'd only gotten married--not fully willingly, but not particularly against his will either--to Icyhaven just recently, and the concept of being a member of a family was relatively new to him.
That didn't mean he was about to let this new opportunity slip through his claws by being the weirdo standing aside at a family gathering, so he bounced over to the rest of the cats and sat down right next to Wintrystar. "Workin' hard or hardly workin'?" he asked her with a toothy grin, and immediately regret what had come out of his mouth.
"Um. Can I be neither?" Howlingnight asked at Cloudweaver's comment. He took pride in doing average, never doing more or less of what was asked at him. With little responsibility came little problems after all.
Gardeniapaw floated along the hot springs water, she was in perfect zen in the heat with the backdrop sounds of her brother drowning. Family outings didn't get much more relaxing than this. "If Reapingpaw is going to be our new omega can you put some snow over my eyes, I hear it rejuvenates the skin," She purred.
"I'm the new omega, huh?" Reapingpaw was the smallest sibling, sure, but that didn't mean he was the weakest! Predictably he retaliated toward Gardeniapaw's insult by returning the favor and shoving her head beneath the waves. The difference was that Reapingpaw didn't really know when to stop so he was holding her down way longer than Pomegranatepaw had him, "Take that, new-new omega!!"
Gardeniapaw let out a relaxed sigh, dissolving into a heavenly peace bobbing up and down in the hot spring waves. That was until the tsunami that is her brother came barreling down on her. Anger instantly flashed inside of her, the moment he let her up he was going to get it twice as bad. Only he didn't. Gardeniapaw splashed him once, barely giving him time to realize that was a warning shot before clawing at him. However it was only until this moment that she realized how strong her brothers grip was. He wouldn't let her up. Struggling beneath the surface all she could feel was raw instinctual panic as she continued to splash trying to force Reapingpaw to let her go. Once he did she gasped, her eyes bulging with dread. Normally she was quick to sass him, but this time all she could do was cough. She turned, refusing to look at him as she spit out the remaining bits of water. "I'm not the new omega," Gardeniapaw said bitterly, but she couldn't keep her voice from shaking at the end.
"HA!! You almost died!" Reapingpaw and been scratched pretty heavily and had a particularly deep cut on his shoulder, but he wasn't feeling it at all, no, he was laughing hysterically as his blood mixed with the sapphire waves casting them a haunting orchid mica, "I'm not the new omega, she says, I beg to differ! HA! HAHA!"
Wintrystar eyed him, eyes relaxed but not fully either. She offered a nod of hello to Cloudweaver before speaking, "I'm always working, but not right this moment." Her eyes shifted to her mate's, a smile gracing her lips but only barely at his words. He was the more relaxed of the two of them, while Wintrystar was the worker, the breadwinner if you will. Howlingnight helped of course, but lately it'd bene more in raising their kits while she handled the clan's everyday life. Her eyes drifted once more to her children, allowing a sigh out as hse did so.
Pomrganatepaw, still near the water's edge called out to her siblings before her mother could truly react. "Do get all your blood in the water! Some of us like swimming in there, Reapingpaw!" She wasn't defending either sibling, just saving the water from being a bloody place tat she wouldn't want to get back into.
"Then tell Gardeniapaw to stop scratching me!" Reapingpaw complained right back and then dunked his own head under the water, enjoying the stinging sensation that followed as the mineral-heavy water cleaned out the scratches on his head and face. When he came back up the water around him was even a deeper shade of purple and he was starting to get kind of nervous about it, "You didn't cut one of my carotids, did you? We are just playing a game, sister, no reason to kill me."
"EW EW!" Gardeniapaw shrieked, moving away from Reapingpaw, "What is wrong with you!? You always take everything too far and somehow injured you're even a weirdo!"
Howlingnight opened one eye before noticing his son bleeding out in the water, "It's like neither of you were born with the instinct of to know how to play properly," He said, but got up nonetheless. Leisurely walking into the sapphire pool he plucked Reapingpaw out of the water by his scruff, grabbing him closer to his uninjured side. Bringing him back to the shore he lied him down onto his stomach. Placing a heavy paw over the wound he began to stroke his tongue against his fur to warm him up, but wasn't letting Reapingpaw up either until he was certain the tom was at least dry. "You're probably going to need a visit to the witch once you're dried off."
"Dad, it's just a scratch," Reapingpaw groaned as he continued to bleed out, a small pool of blood collecting on the stone floor. He was growing more and more embarrassed by the second especially since Howlingnight hauled him out of the pool so effortlessly. Reapingpaw was smaller than the rest of his siblings and most other cats his age. He did his best to fluff out his fur and stand with perfect posture but neither of those things did him any good when he was soaked to the bone and pinned down. Any passerby would assume he was a kitten and the second the thought occurred to him he started growing, "Let me go. I'm an apprentice, almost a Warrior, I can take care of myself!"
