woof - Mother/Daughter day/date for Sanguinekit & Bleedingheart
Bleedingheart gently woke up her daughter in the late morning. Sanguinekit was her eldest daughter and also the one that looked the most like her. She had nearly identical white markings. The only thing that varied was their eyes, Sanguinekit’s were yellow like her dads and she did not have such a strong red tinge like Bleedingheart. Regardless it was rather cute as the matching duo wandered out of the tunnel off on their special day.
Her kits were too young for the romance festival but that didn’t mean they could have a day all for them. “What do you want to do?” She looked down at her daughter. Bleedingheart hoped that in addition to taking after her looks she would also develop a strong affinity for SunClan and their good as well. Of course she would love her regardless of her choices. Parenthood was all about unconditional love, unless your kid was a serial killer as that was the line in the sand that She had.
Sanguinekit would have to start considering other career paths, but she was young, pretty, and had plenty of time to reform herself from her tendencies to commit mass bug genocide. For now she merely parted her jaws in a yawn and followed her mother out into camp, taking note of the couples dotting the clearing as they partook in the romans nest-o-ball or whatever it was the SunClan superiors were manipulating encouraging their dutiful followers to do. "Well, I heard some of the apprentices talking about The Maze-- can we go there? It sounds fun," she chirped brightly, unaware of the dangers that also lurked in the labyrinth.
Bleedingheart looked down at her daughter, thinking about the request. While she did want to do whatever Sanguinekit wanted there was the safety factor to consider. But there were no predators or other dangers in there that required fighting, just drop offs. “Sure, I can even show you a secret lagoon.” Well the lagoon wasn’t that secret but it was accessed through the maze and relatively safe. The brown tabby never realized how much of a warrior she could be until she had three little lives to look after.
"What makes it secret? How is it secret if you know about it? Isn't the whole point of a secret to be secretive? And what's a lagoon anyway? How's it different from a lake, and how's a lake different from a pond, and how's a pond different from the ocean? They're all just the same thing but some are big and some are small! Is that why all the kits have different names, too?" She had a million questions for her mother as they trotted along one after the other, paying very little attention to her surroundings which definitely wouldn't come back to haunt her later.
“Well it’s a secret because only SunClan knows about it and it’s in the maze so you have to know the right way. As for why it’s called a lagoon instead of a pond I’m not sure. Someone else named it long before I showed up around here.” Bleedingheart nudged her daughter down the correct tunnel before she wandered off, lost in her questioning. She really did love Sanguinekit but never knew half the time how to answer her questions, frankly she was tempted to drop her off with the Senate in hopes they knew the answers.
