Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. racer - A Mother/Son date for Bleedingheart and Burnishedkit
Bleedingheart peaked back in the nursery to see her two daughters curled up with another queen. They likely wouldn’t need anything but it made her feel better to have them under direct supervision. Now she turned all her attention to Burnishedkit, her only son. He had her reddish brown fur and deep golden eyes, though her own were a bit more amber. So far he looked like he might be the largest of her kits, but then again he was the only male. With him having two sisters she thought he needed a little alone time and what better than a special day out with just Mom?
”So Burnishedkit, what do you want to do today? It’s up to you.” Of course she never mentioned that she would veto his ideas for safety, but he was still so little there could only be so much trouble he could get into with her there. Bleedingheart adored her kits, having lost her be first litter this second litter was all the more special. It did make her a bit of a worrier over her kits at times, but in the other hand it meant she wanted to spend every moment with them.

Burnishedkit looked up from the leaf that he had pounced on and had been chewing on the edges of it "EErrrr" he looked over to where his sisters were sleeping, and realized that it was just the two of them "Wait you mean just me and you?" he chirped with excitement, eyes sparkling with disbelief "I know! Lets go swimming!" there was a river that ran through their camp that had several shallow edges that the kits could swim in but he had never gotten to yet "The other kits swim and it looks like fun!"
“Sure, let’s try swimming.” Bleedingheart had some basic knowledge of how to swim from her own childhood. Granted she wasn’t the most skilled or fastest, but she wouldn’t drowned which was enough she her. Who was she to tell her son no, he could learn some thing that would eventually be quite helpful. Plus the shallow pool was more than safe and the river that was connected was relatively slow as well. Overall very safe and Burnishedkit seemed so excited to be the center of attention.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Burnishedkit purred, dancing around his mother's paws as they left the nursery "I have been wanting to this forever! My sisters are going to be so jealous that I got to go in before them" he puffed out his chest rather proud of himself,before bouncing ahead of his mother until he was at the edge of the river "Can i go in now?!?!?!?" he was good boy, always listening to his mother even though every instinct was screaming for him to jump in
Bleedingheart laughed at his excitement, to be young and thrilled about every moment. “Just not to deep.” She meowed as she waded in after her kit. She stood in front of the river, making sure he wouldn’t get swept away or venture too deep. Burnishedkit was smart but he was also young and had yet to learn his boundaries. Youth was a wonderful thing even if it often ended up clouding intelligence and rational thought.

Burnishedkit jumped right in, but immediately rerated his decision as the cool water washed over his fur an he dunked under, coming up sputtering out water. The kit stood up and he could still reach the bottom though "NO ONE TOLD ME IT WAS COLD" he was shivering all over, having believed that the water was going to warm like when his mother gave him a bath
Bleedingheart couldn’t help but smile when her son was shocked by the water. “Well it is winter.” She hadn’t thought of that when he asked. Of course she did not seem as affected by the cold water. Still she grabbed her son to lick his fur dry on the bank, not caring if he wanted to swim anymore. She figured he had enough water time for the moment and would settle on something about drier.

Burnishedkit shivered, the cold water having seeped into this his thin kitten fur straight to his skin. His clear lack of real life experience showing "Why do they like swimming if its that cold?" his teeth chattered as he leaned into this mothers warmth while she whisked away the cold water away from his coat "Lets play something else"
“Would you like to go see the springs?” She asked. The trip out of camp would be fun and the hot springs would not be chilly if Burnishedkit wanted to try swimming again. Plus he would probably like the idea of venturing out were most kits never got to go. As long as he stayed out of the actual Janus camp there would be no problem.

"The hot springs? Are they actually hot though.. .Not like this" he pouted still hurt that he didn't know the water was going to be that cold. It was hard to trust again after something you had been looking forward to was not what you expecting "Im... free...zing...."
“They are quite warm all year around, they even bubble a little bit.” She nuzzled his coat, enjoying her kit. She knew she wanted to be a mother since she expected her first litter and had been heartbroken at the loss. Yet this litter was her pride and joy, they filled her heart with love. Leading her son out of camp the duo entered the tunnels. “Stay close you don’t want to get lost in here.” It was a gentle warning as he would probably be fine if he did get lost for a few minutes, but she still would rather not loos track of him.

He was still shivering from the cold water but the brisk pace was helping him to warm up slowly. "This is so COOOLL...COOOL...COOl...Coool...cool" his voiced echoed, startled jumping back and looking around "is someone making fun of me" his pelt bristling outwards
