Last egg standing(20 points for participation/replying to this thread, 50 points for eggs that make it) - At the beginning of the romance festival, all apprentices are given an egg to care for. The egg is painted uniquely, so that it can't just be replaced easily. Apprentice are supposed to carry the egg with them everywhere even while training. It supposed to teach them responsibility, and what it is like to have kits. Apprentices that are able to care for their egg successfully throughout the romance festival will be rewarded. If a staff member catches you not mention the egg in the initial post of any thread created or that your apprentice joins in on between now and the end of the romance festival, your egg is considered broken. Your character can also break the egg in rp on accident or purpose. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Innocentlamment placed a small egg at the paws of each of the apprentices, after explained the challenge that they would be undertaking for the following month "Now remember whomever makes it to the end of the romance festival with their egg in tact will be rewarded, so take good care of your new charge and take it with you everywhere. If someone catches your without your egg, than you won't win the prize"
Handsomepaw patted his egg gently, smiling at Innocentlament with a small nod. He would keep his egg safe!
Bravepaw, for his part, looked a bit more concerned, eyeing the egg slightly with a bit of uncertainty. Echoing Handsomepaw's movements, he tapped his egg with the utmost softness... only to watch it spontaneously combust before his eyes with a loud POP. The cinnamon striped silver tom jumped back in shock, the rancid smell of burning egg filling the air as he stared at the black soot where his egg had been, little shards of eggshell and egg insides still burning with small flames in the surrounding area. !?!?. "Uhhhhhh."

Havenpaw seemed rather bored with the whole thing, as the egg was placed at her paws. Who had time to care for something so silly? Its not like it was a real kit. She yawned sleepily as innocentlamment spoke, only to jump to her feet when Bravepaw's egg explode. Her fur bristled outwards eyes wide, but it only lasted a moment until she darted forward gazing at the egg with amusement "Mine next! Mine next!"
Darkpaw grabbed his egg, taking a step back from his brother as his egg burst into flames. He blinked until moving to Bravepaw's side staring at the charred mess while tilting his head "Bad egg?"
Looking over at Bravepaw, Nocturnepaw was momentarily amazed and confused, and a little concerned at the state of the other apprentice's egg. He glanced back at his own egg for a moment in contemplation before sliding his egg in front of the silver-cinnamon tabby carefully.
Bravepaw didn't know the new cat here, and yet, the tom was offering him his egg. "Maybe you shouldn't..." He tried to gently push it back over to Nocturnepaw, only for this egg to ALSO explode in a miniature ball of fire, scattering egg bits and shells everywhere. HOW, HOW DID THIS KEEP HAPPENING!? When everyone else touched their eggs, it was FINE! He touched and egg, and KABOOM!
Nocturnepaw winced, slowly blinking, his face now covered in yolk and bits of eggshell. He didn't know why he had expected anything less but shrugged it off.
"It's okay, I heard egg yolk is good for your fur anyway."
Pebblepaw...had no idea what his egg looked like. He felt it with his paw absentmindedly, listening to the other apprentices around him. Eggs were already breaking, it seemed. He rolled the egg back and forth, thinking about how he could carry it easier. Two ideas went through his mind. He could form a little sling for it maybe. Second option - team up with another apprentice to help watch this egg.
Cherrypaw smiled down at her egg, which had a smiley face on it drawn on it with some spare paint. "I'll protect you~!" she cooed, cradling it against her chest.

Innocentlamment looked at Bravepaw, giving a little bit of a sigh "Ok Bravepaw, maybe would should give you something other than an egg to take care of" her tail waved back and forth trying to figure out what had just happened. She took a few moments to decorate a rock "Here try this" Honeystorm
Cherrypaw sneezed suddenly, and the sheer force of it caused the egg to explode in between her two palms. Yolk arced majestically through the air and landed lightly on the pelts of the surrounding cats, while fragments of shell fell with a crunch onto the ground. The once-happy smiley face now appeared distorted, like it was being twisted by a funhouse mirror. Cherrypaw's face looked much the same.
"NO!" she screamed, and fell to the floor to try and piece it back together. "I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE NAMED YOU HUMPTY-DUMPTY! I KNEW I WOULD BE TEMPTING FATE AND I STILL DID IT! BLOODYSTAR FORGIVE ME!" With that, she ran away crying.
you know i could've tried to get those 50 points but i really wanted cherry to just kill her own egg

Vintagepaw tilted her head to the side "Who is humpty dumpty? Her boyfriend?" the she-cat scoffed, pulling her own egg closer "I thought she was was going to get married to handsomepaw, but I guess not"
Innocentlamment's paw went to cover her mouth trying not to snicker in from of the other apprentice as yet another egg broke before they even left the den. Sun God help them all... "I will be leaving now, make sure you to take good care of that egg now"
Soaringpaw watched Bravepaw from the corner of her eye as egg after egg exploded, drawing her own egg close to her as if to shield it from witnessing the cruel fates of its siblings. To be honest she thought this whole game was kind of stupid but she was competitive in nature and thus determined to win, "Darkpaw, we should... Uh, hide these somewhere..." racer
"Hey Bravepaw, I have an idea, but you have to promise to be careful!" Pixiepaw presented her egg to the explodey apprentice, it had a cute little bow and a face painted onto it, "So don't explode it just try and do what you did but really really slowly! He life depends on it!" Honeystorm

Darkpaw nodded, pulling the egg closer to himself and rising to his paws "Luck Brother", he shrugged, following after Soaringpaw with the egg gently in his mouth. Jadie
Havenpaw pouted "No fair, I said you had to explode mine next Bravepaw" Honeystorm
"HAVENPAW That defeats the purpose of the game! Have him explode it later after you win," Pixiepaw scolded, stroking her eye gently along what must have been its back, "Hmm actually nevermind, go ahead and full on explode it, cuz that means I'll win for sure."

Havenpaw rolled her eyes "Like I would want to win a game as stupid as this. Its an egg!" They she-cat rose to her paws "i would rather win fighting or hunting, not sitting here watching some egg. Besides Im never going to be a queen... never, ever, ever! Im going to be a leader"
Lavenderilluison had walked in just as an egg had exploded. Now covered in yok and even more confused than normal, the she-cat glanced around at those gathered. "What...?" Okay, she was constantly high, but even this was an oddity to her. There was a cat practically crying over this egg and that was now dripping down Lavenderillusion's face and not all that pleasant to be covered in.
