Pineneedle cleared his throat with a brief, quiet cough, looking over at Gingersnap. "I have to say," he said, voice strangled, "this is quite possibly the strangest date I've ever been on. But I will say, my heart is definitely beating faster compared to the other ones." It wasn't hard to figure out that most of that adrenaline was from fear, rather than the date.
