Mountain meet with Aurorasky at the border, leading her out of the territory. Coming to a secluded location deep in the desert where a large rock blocked off the entrance to cave. Rolling the bolder aside the stench of rot and infection wafted from the inside @samiam Cleaver
The massive tom remained impassive and stone-faced, but on the inside, he was wriggly as a kit. He had prepared for this. He had done Very Good and it was time to show everyone. He pulled aside the boulder and disappeared inside, leading the way to the back of the short cave and then pausing to look back at the small she-cat.
"For you," he told her happily.
Standing beneath Mountain's enormous paw was a cat, imprisoned back here behind the rock.
When Aurorasky had been told to venture far out into the desert with Mountain she was sure he was leading her out there to kill her. It had finally happened hadn't it? Bloodystar had always harbored hate in his heart for her and her litter-mates for the fact that their mother had once lead MoonClan despite her SunClan blood. Now he had finally ran out of patience with their existence and assigned his hit man to take them out, starting with her.
When the large tom moved the boulder she was almost certain he was going to shove her in the cave, or just crush her with the large rock itself, not that he needed the rock to crush her given his large stature.
"For me?" she spoke softly, doing her best not to whisper, but struggling to find her voice in Mountain's presence. Her brown eyes flicking rabidly between the tom and the poor cat caught under his paw, though she made no move to help the poor thing, yes she wanted to of course, but she wasn't dumb enough to try.
"He was yours," he tried to explain. "I catch him, he follows you. Now he yours. He's your," a pause as he searched for the word, "your dog."
He had caught the rogue tom stalking Aurorasky through the territory - a decision the tom must be sorely regretting now. He had been crushed to the tom to the ground, dragged back into the den, and kept the prisoner starving for a few days while he waited for their date. It was, in many ways, only luck that this date had enabled Mountain to remember he had caught this intruder at all.
The intruder seemed to be trying to speak, but it was rapidly becoming clear he was just trying to breathe under the massive paw on his trachea.
Aurorasky looked at the rogue in question as he gasped and struggled to take in a breath. She stayed quiet for a moment processing what Mountain had just told her. Honestly she should of been horrified, she should of turned tail and run, even now she could feel herself trembling but couldn't bring herself to do so. Standing there staring at the gasping tom she understood why Mountain had done what he did.
"Thank you" she meowed calmly. "But my dog won't be around much longer if he can't breathe" she added gently.
Mountain looked down at his struggling victim ponderously. Did he want him to breathe? Yes. Corpses made bad servants, he'd learned.
He stepped back but remained standing on the stalkers' tail. It crunched a little as he slammed his paw down to hold it, but maybe that was just a rock shifting beneath, he didn't care enough to check.
"You like?" he wondered. If she didn't like the gift there was no reason to keep him around.
Aurorasky stared at the pitiful quivering tom, mulling over her options. It was obvious what would happen to him if she said no, and in truth she didn't really want a servant. However it was the only way to keep this cat alive, though... Mountain did say he was stalking her... She shook her head to chase the thought away. Killing him was absolutely out of the question.
"Yes, I like." she purred casting a grateful look at her date. Turning back to the gasping figure at her feet she tilited her head curiously as she assessed him.
The ratty tom twisted his head to looked up at her. Now that the massive initiate had uncovered him, it was easier to see the awkward arrangement of his limbs and the cuts and bruises that decorated his thin skin. His capture had not been a pretty one. But his face? There was something endearing in his scruffy lower jaw and the splotchy coloring under his eyes.
"They call me Newman," he answered, drawing himself up with as much dignity as he could with his tail still pinned. "Newman Eclipse. It's nice to finally meet you again, ma'am."
