Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Carnagepanic and Valleyrose are having a wonderful meal prepared for them in advanced, when Carnage’s siblings show up to crash the date JadieCleaverHoneystormstrawberrycupid
The tortoiseshell darted nervous glances toward his date as he nibbled on the prey with small, delicate bites. He wanted to say something to her, but how should they begin? Carnagepanic wasn't very good at this at all, maybe this was why he didn't have many friends here, or back home in his old clans... but this should be different, right?
Clearing his throat, he asked very politely, "Are you enjoying your meal?"
"Yeah, robins are my favorite and you hardly ever see them in SunClan this time of year. Where'd you catch it?" Valleyrose asked after taking another big bite of their shared dinner. Realizing that already she'd eaten nearly half of it when her date had only taken a couple sheepish bites, she nosed what was left toward Carnagepanic, "Sorry, the rest is yours."
She seemed very relaxed, friendly, open, didn't look nervous in the slightest. Valleyrose was an emotional rock of a cat much like her father had been, stress never got to her the same way it did others, so it was no surprise that she was the picture of calm on her very first date.
"Really?" The little warrior perked up, his mismatched eyes hopeful. "I don't remember," he replied brightly, seemed to realize what he was saying too late, and quickly supplied, "uh, I was hunting everywhere, I don't know exactly where the robin was, I mean. Sorry. You can have the rest of it since it's your favorite!"
Unfortunately, his stomach chose that moment to snarl like a caged wolf. Carnagepanic flinched. "Maybe I'll have another bite or two. Since you don't mind sharing. Right."
Valleyrose let out a little laugh and leaned away from the robin, rubbing her stomach for added affect, "No worries, Carnage, I'm stuffed! Besides, a lady has to watch her figure. Shame you don't remember where you caught it, though. I guess I can't blame ya though. SunClan today doesn't look anything like it did before..."
She trained off then, not wanting to complete the thought. It was painful to remember the order of events that led to the death of her father, although she hoped that Carnagepanic didn't catch up on it, "... Anyway, to be honest I don't really know what goes into a date. After we eat, what do we do next? Go for a walk? Snuggle?"
He leaned in gratefully to finish eating, though at the mention of the fire, the food stuck like a lump in his throat. He swallowed hard, doing his best to ignore it. Carnagepanic had never seen a landscape so transformed like this, he'd never been in a natural disaster before and even the freezing rivers astonished him still. This wasn't like ice, though. The ice he knew wasn't permanent, it went away when it was warm, and it wasn't so ghastly as all of this.
The warrior hesitated again at her question, but he wasn't sure the pause was even noticeable now that he was taking a moment to think every time he spoke. "Well, honestly," he murmured, "I don't know what happens on a date either, I've never, you know, been on one. I haven't even, really, um, hung out with friends. It's been hard, moving around, and... and cats are nice, but they're not my friends. I had my siblings but it isn't the same." His ears lowered but he didn't want any sympathy, so he pushed forward, "but I think a walk would be nice. That isn't too boring for you? Maybe we can, um, walk on the edge of a cliff."
"Sure, walking on the edge of a cliff sounds nice." Valleyrose replied without even an ounce of sarcasm. She was SunClan born and bred, after all, the culture was all about living life within inches of death.
She stretched as she stood up, her big fluffy tangerine-and-cinnamon tail sticking straight in the air. Valleyrose herself was medium to short furred but her tail was like her WaterClan grandfather's, big and billowy and probably her most notable feature at a glance. Stretch completed, she took a few steps in the direction of the cliff that overlooked camp, "Oh, do you have a specific place in mind?"
