Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The Twolegplace had always been a host for rumors and gossip, particularly about the forest cats, and they'd grown exponentially since the legend of that strange rogue tom being hoisted into leadership after a series of (totally drug-induced) dreams. She'd thought it would have died down and they could all go back to the normal rumor mill of who was shacking up in whose house, but the strays seemed intent on keeping tabs on this SummerClan or whatever. Something about borders being closed. Something else about borders being opened again. Really, could they make up their minds? There was some new energy winding its way through the Twolegplace, however, as one by one a bunch of food-named cats started to vanish from the area.
"It's getting a bit too quiet around here, Alicia." The silky, sandy-coated feline stretched languidly on the windowsill of her twolegs' abode, soaking in the spring sunshine as she mentioned this observation to her beautiful bestie. They used to have a slew of things to discuss and share, but with the number of strays dwindling down as they ran off into the forest, they were beginning to discuss the same old gossip from last week.
"You are absolutely right, Alysha," Alicia said in response, lowering the plush black paw she'd been grooming. As they usually did, her beautiful bestie's owners had dropped a few treats in front of her when she'd entered through the cat door, and the taste of dried salmon lingered on her tongue.
"Maybe we should move," she suggested, honey eyes lifting to look out the window. "Ever since Randy and Jess broke up there's been nothing to talk about. This place... it's stagnant. We should be out there, having fun and getting all the juicy tidbits. I want to know how Granola or Cabbage or whoever is adjusting to clan life."
"Didn't we know someone who went out there? Misty? Musty?" Oh well, she couldn't remember so it mustn't've been important to begin with. She considered her beautiful bestie's suggestion for half a heartbeat, also thinking of the luxuries they would be sacrificing. But what was a life with nothing fun happening? "I think you're right, girl. I don't want to stick around for Jess running back to Roger again." Alysha curled her toes before rising to her paws and, taking a few treats for the road, pranced right on out of the cat door with her fluffy tail high behind her.
"Adios revoir!" Alicia said, butchering two languages at once as she trotted out after Alysha. "We're going to find Musty and a new group to gossip about." It was a little callous, abandoning her twolegs without a second thought, but Alicia was looking for fun. The walk through the forest was pleasant enough. It was newleaf, and the flowers were beginning to bloom along the forest floor. Sure, there was some dirt, but for the most part the grass was soft and the wind warm.
The two passed into Summerclan territory without entirely meaning to, unaware of scent markers. "I think we might be here, beautiful bestie," Alicia said, eyes bright with curiosity. "Are you nervous?"
During the journey from Twolegplace to the SummerClan territory, Alysha had skipped along and collected the finest selection of wildflowers to decorate her pelt with, which she kept having to replace because they would flutter off into a trail behind them. "And for you, my beautiful bestie~!" she sang tunefully as she tucked a few brilliantly orange poppies into Alicia's fur, a shade that would certainly make her eyes pop. She glanced around them when they came to a stop. "I don't think so. If Musty and Cabbage can find homes here, who couldn't?"
"Thank you," Alicia purred at the flowers, tossing her head as if she knew she was hot. "You're right. We're way better than them. They'll love us here." As if fate was looking down on them, a cat came into view when they rounded the nearest tree. Alicia nudged her beautiful bestie, eyes widening in excitement. "Look!" She whispered, before calling out, "Hello there! We have come to join your clan. Please direct us to your manager."
Stagrunner narrowed his eyes at the pair of she-cats, irritated that one of his solo walks had been interrupted. "Manager?" he said, one eyebrow raised. "I think you mean..."
...No. He was too tired to try and correct them.
"Sure, whatever," he said and turned on his heel. "It's not like I was. Doing anything.Or whatever."
"Great!" Alicia trotted up on one side of Stagrunner, while Alysha took the other. "I'm so glad they sent such a handsome tom to escort us to their..." She didn't know the word camp, so she searched for a similar term. "Headquarters? Your eyes are so captivating," she said with a bright smile, her honey eyes examining the tom. "And you look so strong. You must work out. Do you work out?"
Stagrunner gave the pair of them a charming smile. "I do, occasionally," he replied. He didn't feel particularly attracted to either of them--not a slight against them, but a quirk of his--but if they were offering? Hey, action was action, and Stagrunner hated not seizing an opportunity when it came to him. Carpe diem, or whatever. "I would invite you both to come and join me someday, but perhaps it would be impolite to not ask your names first
"I'm Alysha," said said she-cat grandly, her plushy coat grazing against Stagrunner's. "And my beautiful bestie is Alicia. What's your name, handsome? Are all the toms out here quite as good-looking as you or are we just lucky?"
"I'm Alicia-it's spelled differently, even if I have no concept of what letters are," Alicia said, following her beautiful bestie's lead and brushing up on Stagrunner's other side. "And we must be lucky, Alysha. Nobody in the twolegplace is as handsome as our escort- I doubt the clan cats are any different. What is your name?"
Stagrunner suppressed a shiver as he was boxed in by the she-cats. He nuzzled both their heads gently, so that the physical contact was on his terms rather than theirs. "Well hello, Alicia and...Alysha," he purred. "The name's Stagrunner. Perhaps a little unconventional name for a pair of pretty Twolegplace cats like you, but it adds to the sense of adventure, don't you think
"Stagrunner~ What a dashing name for a dashing tom," tittered Alysha, who brushed her head against his shoulder coyly. She didn't actually like his name all that much-- it was a mouthful, kinda strange, and she was definitely going to forget it three seconds ago. "I think the clans are going to be fun after all," she told her beautiful bestie over Stagrunner's back.
"Absolutely, beautiful bestie," Alicia chirped. "With Star-gunsmith, Summerclan is looking brighter by the minute." She laughed, brushing up against the tom. --- (shall we uhhh time skip to when they're actually at camp)
They arrived at camp a short while later. "Well, here we are," Stagrunner declared, gesturing across the camp with a sweep of his tail. "SummerClan's camp--headquarters, as you called it before. This is where we live, where we socialise, where we keep our prey..." He flashed them a smile. "Where the beds are."
"Oh, how..." She searched for the correct word, scanning the camp and its...unique beauty. "Quaint," was what Alysha finally settled on, but she instead turned back to Stagrunner. "Why don't you show us around, Stampede? We'd love to see more~" She added a wink at the end, and the pair of beautiful besties similatenously giggled.
"Yes, Sasquatch!" Alicia said brightly, bumping Alysha's side as she giggled. "It's so... rustic, out here! It's like we're roughing it. The vibes are so outdoorsy-chic. I'm digging it." Maybe eventually she would get used to all the dirt, but for now she was more focused on the crowd of cats. So many gossip victims to get to know...
"Stagrunner," he said, far more brusque than anything else he'd said to them. When he spoke again, the classy smile and friendly tone was back as if it had never left. "Yes, I find the vibes here are certainly refreshing. Would you like to visit the warriors' den? That's where all the young toms such as myself hang out." Where all the cats too useless or lazy to get picked for a patrol stay, more like.
