Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(first part of the flamingstar plot! its going to take place in the outside of summerclan territory but since all the events pertain to nc, I'm putting it here ;P)
It was another day of him resting beside the SummerClan border, his hope not yet worn out of waiting for the she-cat on the other side, but he had a suspicion sneaking up on him that she wasn't going to show. Instead, there was someone else's company he was expecting this evening. Crow raised his head when the sound of pawsteps grew nearer and he smiled briefly at his similarly coated companion, Nightmare's ebony coat the same pitch black void as his own. "Thanks for coming out here," he purred, though his voice was tinted by exhaustion, having spent every afternoon at the border and less and less time among the gang. "I've been needing to talk to you about something that I've...well, I've been avoiding it." The last time he'd said his goodbyes with his oldest friend, their relationship had become strained. He didn't imagine this would go much differently than that time.
(sorry it took me so long to reply. Have been having a hard time getting the motivation to role play)
"What is this all about?" Nightmare asked, her eyes narrowing in suspicion as she approached Crow with a swing in her tail. They had both grown to be outstanding looking cats. Nightmare was young but had outgrown her kitten fur. Standing before Crow once more was a sleek and glossy ebony coated she-cat with strong, yet elegant frame. Her eyes were bluer than the deepest part of the ocean that glittered and twinkled in the light while still holding the same fierce warrior that had lived inside her all this time. She was absolutely stunning and she had a confidence to her that could intimidate the most skilled warrior. In many ways she was much like her mother although that would offend her. Confident, beautiful, and powerful with a poisoned heart.
"I'm doing great, thanks for asking." Though the statement itself was barbed, neither Crow's tone nor his eyes betrayed anger towards Nightmare, whose prickly demeanor he was used to. They'd bonded over it all those moons ago when they were fresh apprentices and each had their own reasons to be furious with the world. "Look, I'm not going to beat around the bush. I'm sure you've noticed that I haven't been around much lately, and the reason for that is because when new-leaf comes and SummerClan reopens its borders, I'll be joining the clan. I'm going to be a father soon, Nightmare, and I want to be there for my kids. I want to be there for her." He didn't say her name, not because he knew doing so would cause his friend even greater pain, but because he couldn't. He couldn't muster the strength to say her name without it tearing him apart, all the longing and pain of her absence one giant, sprawling wound that would bleed him dry. She'd be able to detect it in the melancholy twisted into his tone, something hollow where anger used to rest, something mirthless where humor used to exist.
Nightmare's ebony black fur rose on end and a bewilered and offended expression replaced the relaxed, unreadable one she wore just moments before. "What?" Was the only word she could get out. She could feel her heart slip from her chest and shatter on the ground between her paws. "I-I..." She rubbed her aching and confused head with her paw, clenching her eyes closed as if she were trying to piece all of this together. "I-I don't see how all of this could of happened! What do you mean your going to be a father and move to Summerclan? Your the one who turned your back on the clans in the first place! You said it wasn't the life you wanted to live and now your willing to give up everything you have built to go back?"
Her anger didn't shock him. Crow had steeled himself for it, which allowed his expression to remain neutral despite her outburst. He waited until she finished snarling at him to speak, but even then it was clear he was making a conscious effort to select his next words carefully, as if she were glass and they might shatter her. "You're right-- to a degree. I turned my back on SunClan, on Bloodystar, and on my demons. It wasn't the life I wanted to live. I was angry for a long, long time. I was angry at Bloodystar for all he did, and at my father for not fighting more, and at myself for not being strong enough to fix everything. I walked away from the only life I'd ever known because it was the right choice for me to make at that point. And now I'm walking away from this life because that's the right choice for me to make right now. You know how much family means to me, Nightmare. You know I can't let my kits grow up without their father." No matter how much it would break his heart to leave his group, the cats who'd helped him heal and grow, he knew he would never forgive himself if he wasn't there for his family.
"Anyway," he cleared his throat, "I brought you out here to tell you that the Syndicate is yours. You're my oldest friend. I trust you to head it."
Her stare was hard as she flexed her claws. "I don't want the Syndicate, Crow! I-I want-" She broke off, hesitant to go forth with the rest of the sentence. If she confessed her feelings now, their friendship would be destroyed forever. He had already made up his mind. He was tied down by kits, now. Even if he didn't love the she-cat he was with, he made it perfectly clear he wasn't going to leave the kits fatherless. "You know what? Forget it. I just can't believe you would abandon us like that to live with a clan for a she-cat. If life has taught me anything It'd be that you cannot trust family. You know better than anyone that my own mother tried to murder my sister and I! Blood isn't family, Crow. Family are the cats who have always been there for you, who have helped you grow and never treated you any less due to your past. The Syndicate is your family! Not this...strange she-cat you got pregnant and is now stuck with, raising nursery rats!"
An ancient, dark anger sprang up from deep within him, starting in his heart where it pumped straight into his blood and set his nerves on fire. It was something he hadn't felt in moons, that familiar poison in his soul, but for once Crow didn't fight it. He let it fill him and it brought him to a fuller height, the fur along his spine bristling wildly, his tail beginning to lash. "Don't you talk about her like that. I'm not stuck. This is my family and where I'm choosing to be because it's what I want. She's what I want. She's my future and so are these kits," he spat. They weren't born yet, not even close, but he loved them endlessly, the love he felt for Orchiddrop amplified by the love he felt for the lives they'd created. "You should leave now. I told you what I brought you out here for, so there's no other reason for you to stay."
Hurt came crashing over her like a tumbling ocean wave toward the shore, yet, her expression remained stern. She couldn't let him see it break her heart. "I sure hope your happy." She growled, her bottom lip trembling. She spun around and faded away into the shadows of the forest.
