Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Duskveil and Darkmeadow's date/interaction thread @ian
They had been friends since they were kits in the nursery. They've had a deep connection for as long as Duskveil could remember. When they became mates it hadn't surprised anyone. Duskveil did everything in her power to shower Darkmeadow with her affection. Besides her brother Dawnfog, Darkmeadow was the only one in her life that she felt she could let down her walls, but these moments were private ones. Away from the prying eyes of their clanmates where Duskveil felt she had to keep up with her reputation. It was on this evening that Duskveil woke up early she patiently waited outside of the warrior's den for Darkmeadow to awaken. When the she-cat finally arose she stole her away before anyone could place them on guard, hunting or patrol duty. She walked out of camp telling Darkmeadow to follow her. It wasn't until they were a distances away from camp that Duskveil allowed her walls to fall.
"I have a special evening planned for us. We don't get enough moments like this and thought we could use a day of relaxation." Duskveil stated as a purr began to rumbled deep in the back of her throat. Her orange eyes lit up with the excitement of a child winning a life time supply of candy. Her normal graceful calculated gait had developed a small skip. Like she was about to rush the Christmas tree on Christmas Morning.
The way her partner skipped around in excitement was one of the most endearing parts of their relationship. Duskveil was a light in the dark of the world around them, and Darkmeadow savored the moments of peace that she found most enduring when she was around the feline she loved. In general, the warrior was broody at best, and dark at worst. That all melted away whenever she was around Duskveil, though. It was as if her mate possessed a special magic that not only captivated her, but allowed her to push back against the thoughts and impulses that always loomed in the back of her mind. Darkmeadow knew that she had it in her to be a monster, but around the other feline, such an inclination was gone.
"Relaxation, in this economy?" She teased her mate, running her tail across the other's spine. "It seems like you just wanted an excuse for a little private time. Not that I mind that; I always want an excuse to hang out with my favorite cat." Although she did not show the same physical signs of excitement, that would be completely off of her 'I am unaffected by the world' brand, it was clear in her deep green gaze was rimmed with the emotion.
"We don't get many moments of relaxation or peace much these days. We have to take every chance we get. Even if that means slipping out of camp before anyone can place us on a patrol or guard duty. Now I was thinking a lovely day at the hot springs would be relaxing, or we could go to the falls an look at the view, but those are just ideas I would love to hear all of the possibilities." Duskveil asked her mate with a wide grin plastered on her face. Wondering what new adventure the couple could go on for the night.
"I have a feeling that those moments are going to get more and more scarce," she meowed to her mate. There was a hint of sadness in her eyes, but it was mostly eclipsed by an immense sense of pride. "Rumor has it you're in the running for deputy?" She didn't mean to interrupt her mate, or deflect the question, but she couldn't help but ask. After all, she wanted to be the first to congratulate her on even making it to the final round of consideration. She had always known Duskveil was special, but she was so glad others felt similarly.
"I think the hot springs would be the best place. I hear Aspenstar lingers by the falls more often than not, and we wouldn't want to risk being forced to separate, would we? Plus, between you and me, I feel like I'm getting old. Winter has made my bones creak a little more than I'd like," she laughed. "The warmth of the water might help us to fully relax."
"H-how?" Duskveil stumbled over her words and her grin fell to a look of surprise at the mention of Duskveil being in the running for deputy. It had completely caught the ginger she-cat off guard. She knew better than to question where her mate had gotten her source. She knew that since the time that she was a kitten. That rumors spread quickly, like wildfire through the Nightclan camp. That secrets rarely stayed a secret for very long.
"That rumor would be correct." Duskveil answered and couldn't help, but let out a beaming smile. It still amazed Duskveil that she was even apart of the cats that Aspenstar was considering for her deputy. At the mention of the hot springs and the mention of the winter. Duskveil could use the feeling of the warmth from the water.
"I have to agree this Winter has led to conclusion that maybe we are getting old, or maybe its from waking up with a paw pressed into my shoulder blade every day." There a winkled in Duskveil's eyes showing at her comment lacked no venom.
"You'd like to know, wouldn't you?" Darkmeadow responded with a wink. Really, she had just been in the right place at the right time, it seemed. She had been wandering the territory when she just happened to overhear the conversation between Aspenstar and her most trusted ally, Phantomfox. "If I told you all of my sources, they wouldn't be my sources any more, would they?" she teased gently, offering her mate a push with her shoulder.
"I'm so proud of you, love. There's no one else that I think is more suited for the position," she meowed after a moment. Her gaze was warm towards the other cat, and the pride was clear. It was two-fold. On one hand, she was legitimately proud of the love of her life for succeeding in the way she was. On the other hand, Darkmeadow couldn't help but to take some credit for it. After all, she was the one that had helped Duskveil to master some of the last aspects of training.
She then gasped in mock horror. "Me?????? Being obnoxious while I sleep????? How dare you accuse me of something like that," she purred, pushing against her warm body. These were the moments that Darkmeadow came back to on days where the skies of her mind were dim, the simple moments of her life. "As for getting old, speak for yourself. I," she meowed with a puff of her chest, "am still in my prime." She grinned widely at the other cat. "Race you to the springs?"
