PREMISE: Before Labyrinthiansoul became Labyrinthianstar of SummerClan so many seasons ago, he was known by another name – Jareth, the Goblin King. A notorious rogue criminal who rose to significant power through his conniving and manipulative ways and amassed great power and influence with every refugee that fled to him for sanctuary. During his reign over the goblin kingdom, what he called his province in the city, he was arranged to be mated to a she-cat who, while fair in beauty hid a vicious bite and venomous tongue. For a time, Jareth loved her dearly and the two sired six children, proof of their devotion and care for one another. However, as Jareth fell into deeper and darker situations that he struggled to claw himself out of, his relationship with his mate fell into disrepair. The day he vanished without a trace was both the most devastating and the most heart lightening for her. Left to raise her sons on her own and under constant threat by Ozul, Jareth’s primary nemesis over land and influence, she – despite her best efforts – watched as the kingdom she’d grown to call home was ravaged by the darkness that Ozul wrought. Now, hidden in shadow and biding her time along with her six sons, she plots not only her return to the throne but her revenge against the tom who started it all: Jareth.
HOW THEY CAME TO SUMMERCLAN: Word spread of an orange tabby tom ruling one of the seasonal clans. How this word came to them, they do not know, but as soon as the Queen of the Goblin Kingdom, former heiress to the throne of Moraine, heard of the news she tried to flee with her children and find sanctuary with Jareth once again. Ozul caught them and imprisoned them. Her children were raised for some time in this oubliette until they were able to escape and fled into the forest. They arrived in SummerClan but were far too late for Labyrinthianstar’s reign. Now, they’re biding their time, waiting for any sight of Jareth, unaware that he hides right under their noses in the form of Fracturedpaw.
PLEASE do not claim these characters if you WILL NOT be active with them. This is a mini-plot I hold near and dear to my heart. I reserve the right to reclaim any character taken if they are not being:
- Properly developed
- Used during family plot threads (of which there will be many)
If your character gets deleted from SummerClan due to an activity check and is being re-added back more than once, I will reclaim them and adopt them out to someone else.THE QUEEN (OPEN) – Sylvastra (sil - vahs - trah) « A white she-cat with flecks of blue and gold in her pelt and teal-amber eyes, she was a member of the rival royal family in the city, a noble of the Moraine capitol. In a deal to win the Moraine subjects neutrality and peace, her father offered her to Jareth as his mate. From her childhood, she was a rebellious and mischievous soul who enjoyed creating and stirring trouble. She had looked toward one day uptaking her right as crown princess to the Moraine throne and becoming Queen of Moraine, however when she was mated to Jareth, her hopes – at one moment dashed, the next ignited with a furor that could only be achieved by being in league with Jareth – were achieved when she became not only Queen of Moraine, but of all the territory that Moraine and the Goblin Kingdom possessed. Shortly after the absorption of the Moraine land, she and Jareth discovered they were expecting. It was a life of bliss and plenty and she couldn’t have been happier. Though she was sarcastic and could be cruel when she wanted to be (or felt she needed to be), she was – with Jareth and their children – soft and sweet, caring for her family and happy in the life she had for herself. While she still loves her children dearly, she now has no qualms about using them to achieve her utmost desires and considers Jareth now with a near delusional obsession – in her eyes, Jareth’s disappearance was a way to get away from her so he could frolic with others outside their mating. Though she has no favorites of her kits, she struggles the most with Ithronel, as he was the closest to Jareth.
THE CROWN PRINCE (OPEN) – Ithronel (ee - thruhn - el) « An orange tabby tom with patches of white and gold eyes, he was the only one of his siblings that was as thick as thieves with his father, Jareth. A near clone of his father except for the white in his pelt, he was his father’s most prized accomplishment and the pride and joy of Jareth. From a young age, he was raised to one day succeed his father and become the Goblin King. Nothing worried him more growing up than the idea of his father not returning from one of his quests and would often stay up as late as he could to be the first to welcome his father home, surpassing even the patience of his mother. He was the most deeply affected when his father vanished and never returned. Due to his mother’s paranoia and conspiracy beliefs about his father, he was quickly made to be the target of Sylvastra’s wrath. She would quickly regret her actions and words shortly afterward, but the damage was done. This created a large rift between them and while she fell into a deranged sort of melancholy in the seasons of silence about Jareth, now Labyrinthianstar / soul, he never gave up hope about finding his father, though a dark seed within him began to bloom – blaming his father for the treatment he underwent while also longing to be under his father’s shield once more.
THE PRINCE OF MORAINE (OPEN) – Reysatra (ray - sah - trah) « A white tom with orange tabby socks and a patch of orange tabby around one teal eye, he is, without a doubt, Sylvastra’s favorite. Though his mother voices no such claims in front of he or his siblings, his brothers are well aware of her favoritism. This, along with Sylvastra’s frequent dismissal of her other children, has created dissension in the ranks. Despite the second eldest son, Reysatra is often looked down upon by his siblings. His only sanctuary is in the presence of Faesys, his second youngest sibling. Reysatra is rather quiet and has no interest in being royalty or ruling over Moraine. He looks upon the fall of the Goblin Kingdom with near joy and relief; he, at last, may finally be able to forge his own path.
THE PRINCE OF ESKER (OPEN) – Aerith (ayr - ith) « A white tom with brown tabby flecks in his pelt and golden-blue dichroic eyes, as the middle child he is often seen as the peacekeeper of his siblings. He’s as neutral as Sweden, preferring not to take sides during verbal or physical battles between the brothers but instead to sweep in and pick up the pieces afterward. He loves both of his parents equally, though at times misses his father more as his mother was never as toxic or dismissive when Jareth was around. He is close with each of his brothers in different ways, though he’s closest to Ithronel and Elpharae, seen as a right hand to the former and a paternal figure to the latter.
THE PRINCE OF CIRQUE (STARK RAVING MAD) – Qinvaris (keen - vair - iss) « A tom with a mix of orange tabby, white, and black upon his pelt and teal-gold flecked eyes, he is the most romantic of the siblings, often acting on whatever his heart desires. He, like all of his siblings, grew up hearing the romantic tales of Jareth and Sylvastra’s adventures before they settled down. While his older siblings may have struggled with their father’s unexpected departure, Qinvaris struggles far more with the separation between his parents that occurred before Jareth’s vanishing spell. Though he was young and couldn’t fully understand the technicalities of it all, he was emotionally intelligent enough to pick up on the cues left by his parents. This has him balancing on the edge of a blade when it comes to his perspective on relationships – he longs for them, but he’s also afraid of falling into the same trap of stagnation that his parents did. As a result, he has a tendency to form unhealthy fixations on objects of his desire, but act upon them in ways that to anyone else would be seen as far more threatening than attractive.
THE PRINCE OF KAME (STARK RAVING MAD) – Faesys (fay - siss) « A golden tom with stripes of white and orange tabby and golden eyes, he seems to be one of the only ones of the siblings that embodies the idea of being fae. From the moment of his birth, there was something otherworldly about him. Jareth adored him the moment he set eyes upon him, convinced that Faesys came from the Underground, unaffected by the Aboveground’s pollution. Perhaps he did. There’s an aura of otherness that radiates off of him, either because of the sharp angles his stature creates or the way he regards the world is unclear. He has always felt like he belonged somewhere else, where magic and mischief was something to be prized rather than glanced at queerly.
THE PRINCE OF KARST (OPEN) – Elpharae (elf - ah - ray) « An orange tabby tom with black socks and a black mask with blue eyes, he is the one who has suffered the most, despite no one ever being privy to it. At one time daddy's little boy who was always able to convince Jareth with a blink and a tilt of his head to set aside work and play with him, he has spent a large chunk of his childhood without his father and that has left a lasting effect. While he misses his father and often daydreams about what life would've been like if Jareth had remained in his, he now sides with his mother and considers, in his immaturity, that Jareth vanished without a trace because he no longer wanted to live a life connected to them. Often this dark trail of thoughts leaves him with an aching heart and a tiny voice whispering in his mind that he's wrong and still adores his father, he tries with all his might to silence said voice and focus on his only remaining parent who's capable of giving him any sense of love, even if it's twisted and sharp.
I'll claim whoever's left.QUESTIONS & THEIR ANSWERS –How old are they and what should I add them as? They are adults. You can add them as warriors or garden keepers, it’s entirely up to you and how you feel the character would approach life in SummerClan.
Why do all of the princes except the crown prince get ‘prince of (location)’? Back in the Goblin Kingdom of the city, the districts absorbed into Jareth’s control were renamed and given overseers to moderate and command those who resided there. When Jareth’s children were born, they were each given a district according to order of birth. Ithronel, as the eldest child, was named crown prince of the Goblin Kingdom and Jareth’s direct successor. Moraine, Esker, Cirque, Kame, and Karst are all separate districts residing within the Goblin Kingdom.
Why do they have rogue names? In all fairness, I couldn’t think of any warrior names for any of them and was already stretching my muse with creating these adoptables, however I also have a justifiable in-character reason: Sylvastra wanted it to be plain that they were the family Jareth abandoned to ‘live a new life’, in her eyes. While Jareth was around for his children’s growth into late apprentice age, he never got to see them become adults. It’s meant to be a blade directly to the heart.
Do any of them know that their father is now part of Fracturedpaw? They will. That’s all part of the plot.
Stay tuned.
