Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The offsite team is looking for a new member to add to our ranks. The off site team is a group of people who help the offsite administrator(me) with various duties such as the revamp site, advertising, social media, ext. Each member of the team has their own strengths, and this is not a coding team. You do not have to understand coding to tryout for the offsite team.
We are currently looking for someone that is very friendly and approachable, because the next member of our team will be focusing a lot on advertising, bringing in new members onto classic, and working on making classic a better experience for new role players to help them stay after joining. Personality, drive to make classic better, and activity levels are all things that we will be looking at when selecting our next team member. These tryouts are open to everyone, even newer members. These tryouts will stay open for approximately two weeks to give everyone the time to respond to these tryouts. ——————————————————————————-————- Activity: How often are you on, and responding to things, and what days are you most active?

Activity: The question is when am I NOT on- I work from home right now and we're on winter break so I'm currently full time lurking on the site. After January 20th, I should be checking the site every day after 1 or 2pm EST.
Previous Experience: I have been a Moderator several times for leadership purposes, having led PI twice, and I'm pretty sure another clan or two (forgive my forgetfulness I've been on this site for 10 years lol). I also created my own roleplay website and was an admin on that until it died down- I am an Admin on another site called Modus Operandi as well.
Do you have coding and/or advertising experience?: A little, see here and here and the rest of the site (I did not code the site layout from scratch but instead I created the individual pages on the site and modified the site layout for my own purposes). I am far from talented but I am a very good googler and can learn quickly with guidance. I have experience with proboards (forum wrappers and site code and such) and html and bbcode.
Why would you like to be considered?: My passion when I created my site was making the users feel welcomed, included, and important. It's difficult to start up a new site so I was not surprised when activity dropped, but I like to think I did a good job making people feel that if they chose to stay, they would be vital members of the site. When people join Classic I like to try to reach out as well, since it's easy to forget how overwhelming joining a new roleplay community can be. I love Classic and want to help out in any way that I can! I also want to learn more about coding and advertising in general, since it's very satisfying to create lay outs and graphics but often hard to learn on my own.
What ideas, if any do you have for the offsite?: I'm not sure if you guys do voting on roleplay lists (i.e top roleplays of the month) but it helped to increase the visibility of other sites I've been on! Since Classic has an active user base, even a portion of our members voting once a day will increase visibility for new users to join.
Also, maybe creating a comprehensive new user guide? I see that there's a directory which is great! But adding a guide to which clans are more traditional, which are more complex, and explaining general step by step directions to creating and adding a character would help new users feel less overwhelmed c:

Previous Experience: I became an helper mod back in 2016. I was mod when leader for Brookclan, Earthclan, and Fallclan. I was the affiliations admin for another warrior site called Warrior Cats Wish on Wikifoundry until Wikifoundry started having problems. I am currently running my own site and have experience advertising it on many platforms!
Do you have coding and/or advertising experience?: I have experience making bbcode layouts. BBcode at the moment is what I am best. I actually did create a bbcode based layout when I was Fallclan's leader, but sadly it is no longer up on the page. I am currently taking several college level classes that involve html and css coding this semester. So as the semester progresses I will have better knowledge in those two areas. I also have knowledge in the Adobe Software Suite and currently own all of the software. I am most proficient with the following Adobe programs : Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, Fresco, After Effects. I also have Procreate on my IPad so I am able to create graphics by using my knowledge from my Digital Arts Classes. I am also taking a Interactive Advertising and Social Media class this semester as well as a Social Media Campaigns class. I was also the part of my sororities social media team for the last two years.
Why would you like to be considered?: I've always been interested in believe this would be good experience for a future career. I would love to apply all of the knowledge I learn in my classes to help Classic personally grown. Towards a better brighter future! I've always cared about the success of Classic in the last 12 almost 13 years I've been on the site. I've always been concerned about new member retention. It is something that concerned me when it came to my own sorority and I helped our New Member Educator develop new tools and ideas to help new members want to stay. I would love to apply the successful tactics I learned from that experience and the knowledge I've learned from my classes to help draw people into Classic.
What ideas, if any do you have for the offsite?: I've seen on other warrior sites and even other rp sites have new member guides like sunlight suggested. I placed one of these on my own site so I have experience in making them. They are very helpful and help direct new members where to go. I want to stress clans have guide pages! While these don't have to be extensive maping out what a typical member of that certain clan looks like. Common herbs or even common prey that can be found on the territory. Can greatly enhance the roleplay experience! While I know some clans have guides I think a central hub that is connected to a possible new member guide would be super helpful! This could be a place where new members can find links to the various guide pages or even the joining threads!

ACTIVITY + How often are you on, and responding to things, and what days are you most active?
I'm online every day, at least just to stalk the site and see what everybody's up to. I'm responding to threads every other day, messages as soon as they come in (if I don't, it's either gotten lost or I've opened it, got distracted, and forgot). I have no set days I'm most active, my job only requires me to be away from the site at mots 5.75 hours a day, the rest of the time I'm either with my family or here. I'm always within reach.

Unfortunately I have the worst memory known to mankind, so I'm pretty hazy with dates, but I was former Offsite Manager, I'm currently a helper moderator because of that former administration, and I've been a moderator multiple times with multiple leaderships over the span of the last 6-7 years.
OFFSITE DUTIES + Do you have coding and/or advertising experience?
I do, being Offsite Manager, I dabbled in many different areas. There was a time, long ago, that I took requests for layouts and frequently made things for users on here. It's been some time since any of my work's been on display on here. As my coding ability's progressed, I've now started getting into site skin creation, hoping to sell my talent to those willing to pay. For references to my coding work, please see the below list. They're screenshots, so I'm sorry if you're a little disappointed, but unfortunately there are those who have no qualms about claiming my work as their own and I'd like to not encourage that.
I miss being helpful. While being a Helper Moderator's great fun and has definitely helped me get active on the site again, I'd like to be part of something that makes my time here on Classic have a little more meaning. I love helping people out and this is kind of my area of expertise.
WHAT IDEAS, IF ANY, DO YOU HAVE FOR THE OFFSITE? +
Well. We've already done one, haven't we? The integration of the historical records channel in the mod server. My ideas aren't exactly something I can streamline, they more come and go due to necessity or inspiration. I'm sure I'll be able to come up with many more.

Activity: I post/lurk on the site pretty much every day, but at weird hours--12am-6am EST is my 6pm-12am right now so
Previous Experience: I was AM on Classic from I want to say May 2018 to November 2018? And then when we moved to PB I switched to LM shortly after that, and then stepped down in March-April 2019 or something like that. Then I was briefly CM from maybe July-August 2019? That was a whirlwind lol.
Do you have coding and/or advertising experience?: Sort of. I switched from AM to LM a little bit after we moved to PB, which had me changing the site themes and hurriedly coding some pages and generally being thrown into the deep end. I have enough knowledge of HTML & CSS that I can get by on Classic, but I'm not really comfortable with the design aspect yet which I'm trying to change so everyone bear with me a little LMAO. I have a bbcode testing thread on the revamp site where I'm constantly making and deleting bbcode templates & practicing my bbcode s k i l l z in general. For the non-bbcode side of things, I FINALLY did a revised layout for Classic's staff rules page. It's still just sort of okay.
Why would you like to be considered?: For years now I feel like my shyness & lack of social skills has "held me back" in a sense on Classic--I could've reached out to this person, I could've been better friends with this other person, etc--and I figure that this would be a good way of starting to remedy that. Also, I use the revamp website a lot so what better way to ESTABLISH MY DOMINANCE
What ideas, if any do you have for the offsite?: I already said this the other day but maybe we should call the revamp website something else, 'cuz we don't do revamps much anymore xD Maybe the...coding website? Or maybe that sounds too scary. The design website? Hmm. The S A N D B O X? Anything to get more people into coding xD Maybe move the code section of the mainsite to the revamp site, then add a msg in the new member message or another note somewhere that there's character templates over there? Even if there's not much in it? xD I also want to try making some character templates but uh. Let me get better at designing first lmao

Activity ◈ I've only just recently rejoined, so its mostly up for debate. I do work Mondays-Fridays 11-5, and the only "constant" thing I set time aside for are my D&D campaigns, which usually always take place 8 P.M on Mondays/Wednesdays & Fridays. But other than that I plan on diving back in and being much more active, I just require being given a chance.
Previous Experience ◈ I've never been an Admin, but I have been a Moderator before! Usually with Leadership positions. I would also like to shoot in here as well, that I've had experience as an Admin/Owning my own Warrior Cats Discord roleplay that I actively advertised for on a daily basis. The number of members was in the range of 150 at some point.

Why would you like to be considered?
◈ I'm really interested in wanting to contribute to Classic in some way, and have always really loved the idea of campaigning for/advertising for a roleplay site. I miss the site in general and like the idea of being able to make it a much funner, and exciting place to be. Especially with the revamp site! I used to love going on the revamp just to simply make layouts, etc.
◈ I also have ideas on how to make the site user friendly that I've brought up before in the past, but covid + moving in general got in the way of me ever helping brainstorm those ideas.
What ideas, if any do you have for the offsite?
◈ I think more organization, again, would be really helpful! ◈ Contests, I really miss having contests to be able to design the homepage/banner/etc ◈ A dedicated category/board specifically for art/writing/or any other creative practices! ◈ Obviously advertising! Ideas go as far as an animatic style/pmv style similar to the video I made for EV!
