Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Chased from MoonClan territory, SunClan really had no other place to go other than home, seeing as all nearby Clans were enemies. So much for Chimerstar's rule about helping other Clans in need, no one would be there for SunClan, but Bloodystar had to remind himself that he didn't need any allies so long as he had the Sun God in his heart.
As the survivors of SunClan approached their main camp, they were overwhelmed with the scent of smoke and destruction, which only grew worse the closer they got in proximately to their home. Bloodystar lead the Clan in through the back entrance - knowing that carnage awaited them through the main - and practically had to hold his breath while in the tunnel until the sun loomed above them other more. Eyes cast downward, he noticed that the tunnels had dyed his paws black in soot. Lifting his eyes upward, he realized everything was covered in the inky black substance.
Any vegetation, bedding or... bodies... had been reduced to nothing but ash. Not even the High Priest's herb stores, all the way up near the top of the gorge, was spared. Total and utter destruction. Bloodystar couldn't help but cough as a gust of wind blew some ash toward the gathered cats which caused him to look down once more... except, this time he noticed something he had not before... there were numerous pawsteps in the soot blanket. Someone had been here within the past few days, and he seriously doubted it was the Fire Nation.
"Duskslayer... you led a scouting patrol out without my permission, didn't you?" Bloodystar asked his Promised with a seething but quiet tone while the rest of the Clan filtered in and began to survey the destruction for themselves. Faith
Bleedingheart had been back to the territory several times since, though she hadn’t set foot in camp. Now her white paws were blackened and the rest of her frame lightly dusted as well. At least there were no decaying bodies, everything had been incinerated. Though there still seemed to be a few bones left behind, primarily the larger ones. Those would have to be buried, with no idea as to who they had once been. That dampened her spirit, it was not fair they had died for the clan and were left like this.
Stepping around Bloodystar she peered into the various dens, more ash. Somehow this all would have to get swept out. It would be stained blackened forever though she felt. The ash clouds were bad when the wind hit the tunnels just right. It sent plumes swirling and she coughed along with her clanmates. This was home, but it was hell.
"Before I answer that, I just want to point out that I organized the janus to literally construct a homemade prison on your command out of the most finest twigs available... And also multi-tasked and yes, patrolled SunClan camp, yeah," Duskslayer nodded, but gestured to the wall, "I think it would be cool if we all put our paw in the soot and then over that wall to show how many of us did survive and make it into a kind of memorial for future generations to remember."

Before her mother could stop her, Havenkit raced forward out of the tunnels through Bloodystar's paws and into the ash. Her light hearted giggles filled the air as she bounced around excited despite her pelt becoming filthy when something cold landed on her nose. She scratched it away only for another one to fall and another. She looked upwards to the sky, as white flakes continued to fall "The ash from up there is cold" she chirped excitedly batting at the strange stuff in the air playfully "Come on" she called out to her siblings and the other kits still hudled in the tunnels "Lets play!"
"What does your prison have anything to do with this patrol!? You're dodging the subject!" Bloodystar growled, lashing his tail as he so often did when angered, "I expressly forbid anyone from coming here until I received a sign from the Sun God, and look what happened! You absence weakened us when MoonClan attack. Cats died because of your insubordination. I could execute you for this..."
Bloodystar trailed off with his last statement, to be honest he was kind of shocked that he had said it. Execute? Duskslayer? His best and arguably only friend? He coughed, the ash irritating his throat, and the motion speckled the ground with thick crimson drops.
"Forget it. We'll talk later," He said dismissively, coughing a second time but stumbling slightly from the exertion, "Do whatever you want, clearly you are not going to listen to me anyway..." Faith
Honestkit was glad to be home and raced off after his cousin, kicking up ash and soot as he did so, not that any of it showed on his raven black coat save for a few stubborn snowflakes, "Wow this stuff is so cool! It's like paint but powder! We can play tag with this."
He was glad to be home after the horror he'd just gone through, it made it easy for the tom kit to let his guard down. He took his paw pad and booped Havenkit right on the top of her head, leaving a perfect little pawprint behind, "YOU'RE IT!" racer
"Mama, mama," Watermelonkit looked up at Anemoneshade, worry etched his his oh-so-familiar features, "Where is Boysenberrykit?" strawberrycupid
Most kits would have been offended by the other kit placing ash on their head, but Havenkit reveled in it. She thought this was all good fun! Honestkit had already danced out of her reach, but that didn't deter her. She spun around racing over to her brother Purekit an bopping his nose "YOUR IT PUREKIT" she jumped backwards, scurrying off after Honestkit to escape getting tagged again, but the thick ash causing her cough.
Lastingkit watched the other kits playing, dropping into a play bow and jumping back and forth with a big grin "Come one purekit, come get me next!"
Silverfringe muttered something under her breathe about the mess, but it wasn't like the kits could help it. The ash was every where, seeping into all the nooks and crevices. There was no avoiding it, and at least they had something to keep them amused while the adults tried to get some sort of order back to the camp "We should start working on the nursery. The kits are going to tire themselves out and are going to need a place to rest" she mewed to the other queens, her eyes looking out over the camp. It looked so barren and empty, even as the clan began to filter in
Unseenlights placed the kits she was carrying down upon her fluffy tail and grabbed the third from Alios who had taken one of the three to help her on the journey back to SunClan, sitting down just inside the entrance. She couldn't help but feel a little disoriented, the thick ash coating her nose and making it near impossible to find her clan-mates through scent alone. Even the stone felt different underneath her feet, felt wrong. Scorched. Before the fire she had been able to navigate the camp flawlessly, but it was like walking into the unknown "That is a good idea" she agreed strawberrycupidNovaPhantom ---------------------------------------->
Ferventpaws slowly padding into camp, the sight of the distraction causing her to pause and a quick intake of breath, causing her to falling into a coughing fit. This didn't look like home, not any more. Where was the warm sandstone that shined in the sun? Where was thick undergrowth that dampened the sound of the waterfall that now was almost deafening? She staggered, struggling to breathe in the ash with her throat already injured. The look of despair that washed over her face was heart breaking, tears forming at the edges of her eyes "Sun God... where are you?"she murmured sadly Jetclaw ---------------------------------------->
Carrottop stayed close to Dappledbreeze, his short bright orange fur brushing against hers as they walked into camp. He had been born and raised in SunClan, but this felt wrong. He nosed her cheek "How are we going to fix this?" it was going to be a daunting task and breathing in the ashes didn't seem like it would be good for anyone's health cookie ---------------------------------------->
Innocentlamment slowly made her way to her brother's side, having spent most of the journey back separated while she tried to help some of the stragglers and queens stay caught up with the rest of the clan. Her heart was still heavy with grief at the loss of their sister, at the paws of her brother no less. She had seen the horror that had washed over his face. He hadn't wanted to kill her... but not wanting to and not doing it were two very different things. She had supported him in front of the others, standing up for his actions even though she herself was conflicted. He was becoming more and more irrational, doing things that the red-furred kit she remembered from the nursery would never have dreamed of. Subaru's words were still fresh in her mind, and try as she might it was difficult to push them to the side. Finding him, her fur brushed against his "I know there is lots left to do, but you should take a moment to compose yourself" she spoke quietly so that the others wouldn't over hear, before speaking a little louder "Let me help you clear out your den. Maybe some of the herbs can be salvaged" Jadie ---------------------------------------->

Purekit had been too distracted looking around. This was their real home? It seemed a bit... dusty. The little kit shook the ash from his paws as he carefully made his way into the camp. It felt weird on his paws and it clung to his pelt. The little brown tabby shook out his pelt before he was all but assaulted by Havenkit. He went crossed eye as he stared at his nose. He was it? He was it! A smile spread across his face as he squealed as he started running after his sister and denmate, kicking up a cloud of ash that tickled his nose. "I'm gonna... gonna... oh no no no..." Purekit took in a deep breath, puffing out his cheeks as he tried to swallow the sneeze that he knew was coming. But it was no use. A loud sneeze tore through his body, earning a frightened squeak from Purekit as he stumbled back, shaking his head. A wave of embarrassment rushed through him, and he let out a sheepish laugh as he kept his gaze on the ground. Jadieracer "I agree as well." Wistfulsphinx said. She carefully shook off her paw before gently brushing the ash away from Unseenlight's nose as best as she could. "We'll have to clean it out as best we can. Unless anyone has an idea as to how to clean the ash away?" She questioned looking around the surrounding group.
"Desertpaw would have been able to think of something." Paintedcanyon said with a soft sigh. "He was always coming up with... interesting inventions, no doubt he would have been able to think of a tool we could use in this scenario."
"Would you like to?" Duskslayer asked, not skipping a beat, he seemed genuine in the question, but when Bloodystar left the conversation alone he leaned back. Comfortable at first with the end of the conversation, but instead turned and followed after the priest. "I was a jerk... When we first met," Duskslayer said, rubbing his paw over his other paw with discomfort, "I didn't care if our mission went wrong or not when we went on that patrol to MoonClan. But you looked out for me that time in the city. And I listened to your orders despite my instinct and we got trapped," He walked up beside his best friend, his turquoise eyes meeting his celadon gaze, "but that's why we're a good team. You make me give a damn about things I would never otherwise have opened my heart to, things that I didn't get the point of. I never wanted an adventure until I met you, I still don't want adventures unless it's with you. But sometimes my instincts are going to lead in other directions, will you trust me when that happens? Because you planted care in my heart, that awakening came from you and I want you to trust when I feel we need to go in a different direction. Can you do that, brother, can you trust me?"

Sunnysmile's features dropped as she looked around the camp. What was once so full of life, a home, now felt nothing like that. She wasn't supposed to, but she leaned against Nightfury a little. They were forced together, but somehow it had made him one of her better friends. She hadn't completely healed from the battle here, her irritated throat letting out a cough as soon as she stepped into the camp. "Okay." She took in a wheezy breath, "I'm gonna go help clean out the nursery, kay?" It was shaky, not that Sunnysmiles let it shake any confidence from her voice. stardance
Anemoneshade was exhausted. Some of the other queens helped carry her litter, but she still had three or four of on her back. She lost count. Her heart couldn't help but ache at the sight. Lowering herself so the kits could get off, Peppermintkit joined his brother in a concerned expression. Not that Anemoneshade was surprised, those two were attached at the hip. But Boysenberry... how was she supposed to explain it? That it was her fault he... he. Her amber eyes darkened, but she looked back up at her kits. They deserved an answer. "Boysenberrykit got mixed up in the fight with Moonclan. He-- He died." Her voice gave out though, and she could feel tears pricking at her eyes. JadieMorteAutumnal @samiam stardancePhantom (@ ing the entire litter in case your kit wants to hear this)
Bloodystar preferred black and white. Emotions were anything but that. One minute he'd be riding the wave and the next he was crashing, there was no clear winner even if he was only fighting himself. So, when Duskslayer started baring his heart, the High Priest's whiskers twitched but otherwise his expression remained neutral. He was tuning it out and by now he'd gotten pretty good at it... but... the longer his Promised spoke the deeper Bloodystar dug his claws into the sandstone. Snap. Crack. He was aware of the damage he was doing but was totally numb to it, the soot and ash mixing with the blood at his feet.
"... Nothing someone says before the word 'but' really counts, you know..." Bloodystar finally replied, but he wasn't looking into Duskslayer's eyes, more like past them, "I forgave you for leaving SunClan when I needed you the most. I forgave you for having kits in the Regime without reporting them. And now, you are asking me to forgive you for direct insubordination that cost SunClan lives... You are asking a lot of me, brother. I... I don't know if I can trust you like I used to anymore."
He felt tears brimming to his eyes and hid them with the amulet. When did that come from!? He scolded himself for being so weak, he blamed it on exhaustion but knew that the sooner he ended this conversation, the better. Without giving Duskslayer any time to respond, he callously turned his head toward Innocentlament, "No, I will clean it out myself. I'd like you to oversee the restoration of camp alongside the Janus instead... In his free time I guess Duskslayer can be in charge of managing the kittens..."
Bloodystar found himself short of breath and nearly lost his balance. Fresh red droplets of blood, ones he'd failed to hide, began to fall steadily onto the ground, "Also. Send Glitterfreeze and Angelicblood to my den. I am going to go rest..." Faithracer
Strongkit yawned as they entered the camp that was supposed to be his home. It seemed like a bit of a downgrade, but whatever. He didn't really care that much. But he didn't have a nest yet... and he needed his power nap. Like really really needed it. He had never grown out of it. He yawned again and looked around. Maybe... over there. He looked up to his mom. "I'm gonna go take a nap..." He turned to his siblings. "I'll play after I nap. I've already almost missed it." He slipped underneath all the cats and found a dark place underneath an overhang. "Perfect." racer
Nightfury's injuries had almost entirely healed at that point. He grew up in Toxicity, and part of it never really left him. He still had a strong sense of self-preservation he learned from there, and when the fire got going he dipped out faster than a hummingbird. Still, a few burned patches were still visible, but he didn't have the cough that so many of his Clan had. His face remain emotionless as he saw the devastation for the first time. They would recover, just like his home did when the left their territory. He hardly noticed her lean into him until she muttered her words. He nodded. "I'll come." strawberrycupid
Butterscotchkit stayed silent on their journey to their new home. The journey excited her along with the prospect of seeing her real home, but that quickly fell into the ashes upon seeing the decrepit camp. Her eyes wandered along the blackened sheer cliffs with wonder and, well, disappointment. She was just about to say something when her mother spoke. Tears quickly overflowed out of her eyes at the news of her brother's death. "H-he's in a better place now right? He's in the Isle?" strawberrycupid
Honestkit continued to play tag in the soot and snow with the rest of the kits and was having a great time of it until he tried to shake a snowflake off his tail but it didn't stop. A few moments later the black-furred kit had given up on the game of tag and had his tail in his mouth, licking at it to no avail, that white spot wasn't going anywhere and now that he was looking up close there were even more! His heart began to beat faster and faster until finally he let out a panicked squeak, "THE SNOWFLAKE IS EATING MY TAIL! Someone get it off me!" racer & @anyone
Watermelonkit didn't believe it at first, after all he'd seen Boysenberrykit happy and healthy just hours ago. Death wasn't a concept he fully understood yet, all he knew was that it was supposed to be a long, long time before it touched him and his family. He brushed up next to Butterscotchkit and licked at his sister's tears, "Wherever he is, I'm sure he's happy. Right, mama?"
He cocked his head at Anemoneshade. The little red-and-white tom was doing a great job at keeping his face even and calm, but his paws were trembling ever so slightly, something perhaps only a mother's eye would notice, "Right?" stardancestrawberrycupid

"As you wish" Innocentlamment dipped her head to Bloodystar, as he pulled away from her side and began ascending to his old den at the top of the sandstone canyon. Turning her gaze on Duskslayer "Don't give up on him yet... he needs you" and with that she walked off to speak with the other Janus and find Glitterfreeze and Angelicblood. JadieFaith ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lionpride was one of the last cats to enter into SunClan's camp, his injuries slowing him down as well as making sure that all twelve of their kits made it back to SunClan's camp. With every step he left behind little smears of blood from where the long walk back had broken open the scabs upon his feet from the burns that were just starting to heal. A ghost of a smile graced Sunnysmiles' features as Nightfury to agreed to go with her. It'd always be the little things that caught her attention. She was used to being alone, which at least let her walk over to the nursery without leaning on him too much. She caught the end of what Unseenlights said. "It's too cold for rain for now, anyway." Sunnysmiles' tail batted away at a falling snowflake. Lifting her paw she watched the snow that had collected between her toes slowly melt. "Snow's basically rain, right? Maybe we can use it to wash the walls." stardanceracer ~~~ Anemoneshade let out a shaky sigh. If only she could have done more, Boysenberrykit would still be here. There were condolences, but Bloodystar still barely gave her a glance. She pulled them all to her side, licking each on the top of the head and nuzzling them. "Yes, he's up at the Isle right now. And he's happy. And while he wouldn't want us to be sad, it's okay to be. Cry all you need to, my little ones." As if on cue, Peppermintkit burst into tears, uncontrolled sobbing as he pressed his face into Anemoneshade's fur. Jadie
Watermelonkit wouldn't have cried if Peppermintkit hadn't started first but, the second he heard the other tom's whimpering, he leaned into his side while also resting his head against Anemoneshade's flank. He understood that losing Boysenberrykit wasn't a goodbye forever. He'd see him again, play with him again. But it was a good bye for longer than Watermelonkit even now fully understood. It felt like there were claws wrapped around his heart and piercing it but ony enough to hurt, not kill. strawberrycupid
Duskslayer withdrew a frosted breath into the air before stepping away from Innocentlament. It didn't mean a thing that Bloodystar needed him if he didn't want to be saved. It didn't mean a thing that Bloodystar had him or his mom in his life if he wanted what he didn't have. No wonder his whole family lived for anarchy. In the game of life, most people spend their time playing multiple matches, winning and loses small and big prizes. But for Bloodystar he always played the biggest matches and gained the largest losses. Because the first move in he already lost, it's what happens when you play with cheaters. The priestesses who make up their own rules to win every time. It must be frustrating being priest, finally able to make all the rules, but still losing. Bloodystar never won anything in an honest way and even when he won his prizes it almost always was a hollow victory.
But if Duskslayer left now he was just going to be replaced with some dictator and if he stayed he could at least keep up morale. Besides, the last time he tried to free a bunch of cats they said they wouldn't leave without their mommy.
Angelicblood and Glitterfreeze followed Innocentlament over to Bloodystar with Angelicblood keeping her head down low.
"What up?" Glitterfreeze asked with one of those cool nods that acknowledges a person.
Bleedingheart looked around at the piles of ash, trying to think of a way to clean it up. “Perhaps we could start by sweeping it up with our tails?” She would have preferred to use either pine boughs or pal fronds but didn’t think either would be found on the burned out territory. The wet moss was good but it wouldn’t address the large piles of ash, just the residue on the walls and floors. Plus the stream that ran through the camp was full again, so water would be no problem for them to wash up in.
Bloodystar visibly calmed down some when Glitterfreeze and Angelicblood joined him, those two she-cats never were far from him and itw as by design. One offered spiritual healing, the other physical, and Bloodystar often needed both to get through the day. He brushed his cheek against Angelicblood's good side - since he knew which one it was - and leaned into Glitterfreeze's side like a young kit would his mother.
The High Priest's den was the highest peak in camp, meaning it didn't have a lot of scorching damage but did have a lot of smoke. All herbs and bedding reeked of destruction and were totally unusable, as he had feared but also expected, "It's just... Ever since the Sun God died, SunClan hasn't been given a single break. It's as if every cat alive and dead that isn't in this camp right now is against us. Sometimes... sometimes I wonder if it's not the Sun God's absence that got us here, but my failure as a leader... but... it can't be that... right?" Faith
