Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She was deeply amused by the way the tom's running sort of looked like flailing his body in various directions and hoping that it moved forward. Frenzy liked that kind of well... frenzied energy. Then, she found herself taking his lead, her pawsteps quick on the cold concrete.
When she got to the other side, she shivered. "The path is so much colder than the snowy grass," she observed, "but it wasn't so bad, right?"
i'm thikning shes going to get hit by a car on their way back just because she's like oH noT sO bAd
"Not so bad?" Peachblush snorted. "For a thrill seeker like you, maybe. Crossing that thunderpath over and over's got to be one of the top worst experiences of my life. And I had to live in SunClan's camp for a moon."
LMAO DO IT I DARE YOU peachblush: god i wish that were me
"Thrill seeker? I generally don't consider myself particularly a thrill-seeker , but maybe I'm just a little more ... limber," she meowed with a chuckle. "I am curious about SunClan though, have any hot gossip to share while we go... well... whereever we end up?"
do we want to one two k o frenzy, get them to find an abandoned house that they explore and maybe the exit gets blocked off some how and they have to figure it out and then she gets hit by the car or do we want them to find something else less traumatic than a cave in
"You're in SwiftClan, aren't you? You're a thrill-seeker by association," Peachblush chuckled. "SunClan? I never have any idea what's going on over there now. I should, considering I spend half my time in DayClan, but it's hard to keep up. I think they're having a love festival right now or something." The corners of his lips turned downward. "I'm glad I don't have to live next to that right now."
wait can we do an abandoned house that sounds fun LMAO why does frenzy always drag her friends into this kind of thing
"Yeah, well, can't say many of the cats around here are too... thrilling. I've only been on one great adventure since getting here, and I was pretty sure I was going to die the whole time, so it was a nice surprise I didn't." She laughed awkwardly with an awkward shake of her head. She laughed out loud at his next comment. "SunClan? Love? Huh, didn't know the good old cult knew how to do that," she snorted, before shrugging. "Yeah, I can't imagine that they're good neighbors," she commented, before looking out in the distance at a shape that was becoming more and more obvious. "Speaking of neighbors...." she meowed, before darting towards what turned out to be a large stone home that was so old that it was being retaken by nature.
Peachblush grimaced at the sight of the house, so incredibly, obviously dangerous. "I suppose you'll be wanting to explore that, then?" he sighed, and resigned himself to his fate.
Frenzy grinned. "It's probably not the best idea, but ya know what, it can't be the worst thing that's happened to me in the last few moons, so let's do it." Without giving him a chance to protest, the she-cat darted forward into the dilapidated building.
"I hate it here," Peachblush muttered as he followed after her. The windows of the building were boarded up, so the only sources of light were the cracks in the wooden planks across the glass and a lightbulb that hung from the ceiling, swinging ever so slightly. "Hopefully that's just swinging because of the movement we made coming in," he said, "and not a horrible...abandoned house monster, or StarClan forbid a chimp."
She shot a glance back at him. "If there's a chimp in here, Peachblush, I hope you told your kids you loved them this morning, cuz you probably won't see them again. I have a feeling that a chimp attack isn't something you survive twice, and unfortunately for you, that means we'd probably be thoroughly screwed."
She turned back to the area in front of her, scanning everything she could despite the minimal light. "How long do you think it's been since someone came in here?"
"Judging by the dust we just kicked up going through the door..." Peachblush murmured, suppressing a cough as some of it caught in the back of his throat, "more than a year--vastly more, even. Although I wouldn't be surprised if there were rodents running around too."
He kept his gaze low to the ground so that his eyes could adjust to the darkness without being blinded by the light; once they did, he could see there was a small door in the corner furthest from them that most likely lead to a basement. In the same corner was a set of wooden stairs, which appeared to be slowly rotting. "Up or down, eh...?" he said, almost to himself.
"I hope we get infected with the plague from a rat in this abandoned house. Just another Thursday in SwiftClan," she murmured, glancing around. "Personally, I think it's more likely the dust gives me asthma though." As if to amplify her point that the conditions were ... subpar, Frenzy sneezed the loudest sneeze she had ever sneezed. "Sorry," she meowed with slight bewilderment. "Must be allergic."
When she followed him over to the stairs, her eyes lit up slightly. "Well, if we go upstairs, there's a forty percent chance that we end up in some cool attic that we probably will never escape from. If we go downstairs, there's a forty percent chance we run into a murderer in the abandoned basement. Personally, I think the basement will be more fun, if by fun I mean likely to cause us terminal injury. Take that as you will."
"Oh, well the basement then," Peachblush said, rolling his eyes. "If there really is a murderer in there then we probably already alerted him with the sneeze of the century you just pulled off."
"Look, not my fault that the house is significantly dustier than I thought," she meowed indignantly, before peering down the stairs. "With our luck, we definitely have alerted him, and if we go down there, he's going to make us eat our own tongues or something. But, I guess that'll be an exciting story to tell down the road, so here we go!" With that, the she-cat dashed down the stairs, rickety stairs that she was half afraid she'd fall right through.
"Careful," Peachblush hissed, taking the steps at a far slower pace than his partner. He suppressed a startled yelp as his paw went clear through one, making a splintered hole in the rotting wood. He pulled his paw out slowly, wincing as a few slivers of wood were caught in his pelt. "This really was a horrible idea."
They arrived in the basement together; their source of light this time came not from a lightbulb on a rope but a lightbulb securely attached to the ceiling--or secure enough, Peachblush hoped, watching as it flickered on and off at random intervals. There were a handful of what looked to be various Twoleg contraptions scattered around the place, and the floor thrummed with some kind of vibration, like electricity rumbling throughout the floor. "At least we didn't immediately find a large pool of blood like I thought we would."
Frenzy glanced back over her shoulder at him with a shrug. "Should have told you this by now, Peachblush, but careful ain't really my MO," she replied with a squint. "You're right though. This is definitely not somewhere we are meant to be." It was... quite frankly unnerving.
Curious, the she-cat found herself investigating as quickly as possible. There was something that felt... deeply wrong about the basement. Although the house itself was sort of unsettling, the energy in the basement was... bad. Something was wrong, she just dind't have the language to say it. At least, not until she found a door to a room with a... quite suspicious smell. "Hey, over here," she called to him, peering at the door. "I wouldn't speak so soon," she murmured, before prodding the door open a bit with her paw, allowig the scent to become stronger.
