Alios slipped through the dark forest like she had always meant to be there. Though she was a member of SunClan, her allegiance wasn't to the clan. She was part of a mysterious group, The Silhouette . Most of SunClan knew little about the group, until they showed up to support Bloodystar in taking over SunClan. She had spent a lot of her time with the prisoners, keeping them in line so most of the clan hardly even knew her name or face. The dark furred feline was an oddity within the clan, always sitting on the outskirts. Always watching. Nova

Silverdragon had slowly taken to enjoying the serenity that the night provided. It was relatively cooler, which was a stark contrast to the light of day that he was so used to. He lived by the light the Sun God provided, warmed himself by the God’s rays. When he opened them once more he found himself gazing directly at the moon. Selene’s light was calming... and if she still reigned supreme in the night sky than perhaps the Sun God still lived on somewhere. They were tied together weren't they? One could not exist without the other. The smokey furred tom let out a soft sigh as he slowly tore his gaze away from the beauty of the moon. There would be other nights to admire Selene’s grace. His sea green eyes flickered for a brief moment with uncertainty before it was quickly covered once more by his normally neutral expression. Silverdragon was making his way back to camp when his whiskers twitched. He wasn’t alone. He could sense it. But the tom didn’t slow his pace, and the only sign that he had gone on alert was the occasional twitch of his ears as he listened to the sound of the forest all around him.

Alios moved quietly, when the sound of another cat out late caught her attention. He probably wouldn't know who she was, but she knew him. She knew all that cats in SunClan probably even more so than the higher ups. It was one of her many talents, the ability to see and remember faces as easily as friends she had known for a life time. It was silverdragon, the son of Honeysplash. He had several siblings in the clan thought none of them had amounted to very much thus far. Of the siblings he seemed the most level headed, if not a bit prickly. Without missing a beat she fell into step with him, staying in the shadow until she was walking at his side like she had been there the entire time "A beautiful night" her fur almost brushing against his, but not quite

So it was Alios that had been in the same area. Silverdragon never really said much to the strange she-cat. She wasn't a part of Sunclan officially, and he's heard about the group she affiliates herself with. He never thought anything of it. It wasn't his place to question who Bloodystar allowed in the clan. "Yes, it is." The smokey gray warrior commented. "Unlike any that I have ever seen before." He flicked his ears as he glanced at her from the corner of his sea green eyes. "I recognize you from the camp, yet you are not a Sunclan cat. You are with that other group, are you not?"

"Yes" she murmmered softly "but does it matter in the grand scheme of things?" she paused eyes staring upwards to the sky with the stars shining brightly overhead "we are both followers of the sun" she paused gaze falling to catch his own "We may come from different walks of life, but we still worship the same deity" the black she-cat mover forward, the tip of her tail tickling his shoulder. She hadn't made many friends her, but enemies. Those she had plenty of

“Forgive me,” Silverdragon said quickly, dipping his head before he glanced back up at the mysterious she-cat. “I meant no ill will. Merely an attempt at conversation.” The charcoal colored tom watched her carefully, his sea green eyes level and emotionless as they always were. “You see, I know of you. But I do not know you, nor your compatriots. It is not for me to pass judgement on those I do not know. I am but a warrior. My job is to fulfill my duties and follow the orders given to me.”

"See that is the difference between you and I" she rounded around, her paw gently tracing the outline of his jaw "While you and fellow SunClan members are bound to order and traditions, we are allowed to think for ourselves" she booped his nose gently, a sly smile creeping onto her face "We serve our god how we see fit, able to do the dirty work you all see as beneath you" she paused giving a moment for her words to sink in "While you are a follower, I am my own cat. Free to make my own choices"

Silverdragon had come to a stop the moment she began to run her paw along his face. The dark silver tom watched her careful, his eyes neither curious nor annoyed. Simply observant, even when she gently tapped his nose, while he let her words sink in. “And yet you follow orders just the same.” He countered. “I follow the rules and tradition of my clan, you follow the orders and rule of the Sun God’s word in your own way. We are not as different as you think, Alios.”

Alios chuckled, her laughter light as she pulled away "Perhaps, but to serve and obey without question are not as similar as you might think. Lets play a game, shall we?" the black furred she-cat rose to her paws to lead "I will give you a scenario and you tell me what you would do" she paused mulling over several different thoughts "Say that you are on patrol with the High Priest, when it is attacked by another clan" her blues eyes looked up towards the sky "They manage to outnumber your patrol, killed several of it's members, and have the High Priest at their mercy. They have not yet managed to capture you, but you are severly outnumbered and injured. This is clearly a declaration of war and they have no intentions of stopping at the border. Do you stay and try to free the High Priest, or flee to warn the clan?"

Silverdragon twitched his ears, settling down and wrapping his tail around his paws. “A game?” He mused. He hadn’t played any sort of game since he was a kit in the nursery. The tom listened patiently as she listed her scenario, cocking an eyebrow at the picture she had painted with her words. “My life is in service to Sunclan and to the High Priest. If there was a chance that I could free the High Priest I would take it. To take the king means that they would have already won this hypothetical war.” Silverdragon said without hesitation. “I am but a knight, or a pawn. Whatever it is you wish to call me. Severely outnumbered or not, I would fight and take as many of them with me to the isle as I could. Does that make me foolish, in your eyes?”

"No..." she answered after a few moments "misguided, but not foolish" she kept her own words soft "but their is one fatal flaw in your logic, and hence where our main difference lays. Bloodystar may be the High Priest, but the king he is not, and so long as you see him in such a light you are misunderstanding the meaning behind the Sun God's teachings. The High Priest is merely a tool used by the Sun God to guide his followers, important but not irreplaceable. Should an opportunity present itself to free the High Priest I agree that it should be taken, however...."
"I wouldn't think twice about leaving them to their fate, not with something far more precious at stake"

“In this moment, Alios, Bloodystar is the king.” Silverdragon commented evenly. “The Sun God is gone, we know not where he is or when he’ll be reborn... thus, the High Priest is now the king until our god returns. Our beacon of hope, if you will. Though, I’m not so misguided that I can’t see everyone’s mixed feeling on that particular opinion.” He said with a bit of a teasing tone to his voice. The tom wouldn’t admit it, but he was slowly beginning to enjoy whatever type of conversation this was. He bent his head and quickly scratched at a small itch behind his ear before he quickly looked back up at her. “What exactly would that be?”

"Lets see if you can figure that out" she mused, her tail twitching slightly at the tip as she listened to his explanation "I could simply give you the answer, but unless you can come to the conclusion on your own I am just wasting my breath" Alios took in a deep breath, producing a cloud of smoke in the cool night air "High Priests come and go, but the king does not. The king holds all the power, yet must be fiercely protected by the other pawns and knights" she tilted her head to the side slightly "Another scenario" she paused giving time for her words to sink in "A fire has broken out in camp. Bloodystar is engaged in battle, fighting against three other cats cornered against the stone wall. A warrior lays dying under a sea of enemies, begging for someone to help. You can hear queens screaming for help to get their kits out of the nursery before the fire gets any closer. Apprentices are fighting fiercly, but are slowly getting taken down one by one. Senators are trying to make their way to to tunnel on only to have their path blocked by the fighting. Whom do you save first?"

Silverdragon raised a brow, amusement glinting in his eyes for the first time in a while. The tom rarely let his emotions show, but it was a rare occasion and he was having fun. He could only imagine what his brother would say if he could see him now. As quick as it appeared the amusement was gone as he listened to this next scenario. It hit a little too close to home considering the recent fighting. His ears twitched, almost as if he could still hear the echoes of screams from his clanmates.
"How does one even chose in a situation like that?" Silverdragon questioned. "Choosing who to save and who to let die? How does a cat live with a choice like that? I've seen what it does to those that have made a choice such as that. It eats away at them, at their minds."

Alios listened, knowing that he still wasn't getting her point "The choice is quite simple really, one that a cat like me could make with a clean conscious knowing that I had made the right choice, even if I grieved over the loss of fellow followers of the Sun God" she wasn't paticularly close with many of the SunClan cats but it would have been the same choice even if it had been her family members that were on the battle field. In these situations feelings only got in one's way where logic should reign.

"Is the answer to this scenario the queen's and kits?" Silverdragon questioned. "They are the future of the clan are they not? So would it not make more sense to save them? But then who would you save in this second hypothetical you've posed to me." It wasn't often that Silverdragon allowed himself to feel frustrated. But in this instance, he couldn't help it. He liked to think that he was a logical tom, a loyal warrior to Sunclan who followed orders like he was supposed to. But this she-cat and her hypothetical's were beginning to turn him on his head and make him question his way of thinking. It was a strange sensation for Silverdragon, and one he wasn't a particular fan of

"Closer, but if you helped the queens and kits to escape and the warriors and apprentices died than who would provide for them?" she let her question sink in "would you save the queens and kits only to watch them slowly starve away into nothingness?" she blinked a reality that hit all to close to home to her "while the loss of kits is always tragic and should be prevented more can always be born if there are survivors" she didn't answer his question leaving him to wonder whom it was that she would have saved first

His tail twitched as it unfurled from his paws. The tom stood up again and slowly began pacing. The movement helped him think and that was something he needed. He couldn't believe his logic was failing him at this moment. Frustration began to glint in his sea-green eyes as he glanced up at Alios. "The answer to your question cannot be everyone. It is physically impossible, especially if in this scenario we are outnumbered. Would it then be the apprentices? Still young, still full of life. Able to provide for the queens and kits should we get them out in time. If the warrior is already dying the merciful thing would be to put him out of his misery wouldn't it?"

"You are still thinking to much like a SunClan cat" amusement glinting in her eyes as he started to pace, taking her scenario seriously even though it was hypothetical "You think in blacks and whites, when you should be seeing the shades of gray between them. When you only see right and wrong, you miss the obvious answers that are right in front of you nose" she blinked giving him more time to mull over her words as she began to smooth out her pelt "You said it yourself, you can't save them all, you have to make a choice. You wouldn't have time to sit there thinking about it"
"In the time you have taken to come up with the answer, the battle would have been lost"

"But then what is the answer?" He questioned, sounding almost like an impatient kit being told he couldn't play before he had eaten. "My first instinct was to save the queens and kits, but that was not the right answer. It's not Bloodystar, that was made evident in the previous scenario." Silverdragon finally sat down, slumping just a bit rather than sitting up with a straight back as he usually does. "It can't be myself, that would just be selfish. I'm failing to see the shades of gray in between if my first instinct was wrong"
