Poppymask x Ratstar family roleplay! strawberrycupid @turtlenoir GidgetGalwooflavellanStrawberryleaf "Hold still, Sunkit, if you so much as--- Weevilkit, quit picking on Molekit! Azaleakit, stop---" Poppymask had her paws full, that was for sure. As expected her kits were all over the place and absolutely not listening to her. All she wanted to do was having them dressed up and nice with their matching flower crowns, blue themed for the boys and pink themed for the girls, for family lunch. But no. That was proving too much to ask.
"Hey you! Help me out here!" Poppymask called out to a passing she-cat, who turned out to be Wispycloud. The gray Warrior definitely heard Poppymask's plight but pretended she didn't and scurried away. It infuriated the cream-and-ginger queen. In DayClan, anyone she called on would come and take care of her kits, but here it was way more work. When was she going to get her beauty sleep, really!? Or her picture-perfect family moment?!
"This is a disaster!" She moaned, throwing herself to the ground, and immediately becoming a jungle-gym for the rambunctious kits.
Weevilkit had Molekit pinned to the ground, the overgrown ball of grey fluff basically sitting on top of his chubbier brother, his tail whipping behind him in irritation. "BUT MOOOOMMA!" He whined loudly with a protesting squeak, "Molekit took MY scratching rockkkk-!" His scratching rock was very important. Momma had given it to him as a gift for 'a very special little tom to use instead of shredding his bedding~', but after a moment of hesitation, Weevilkit rolled off of his sibling with an indignant growl. He couldn't not listen to Momma, no matter how mad he was. Instead he bounded across the den to sit on top of Poppymask, his long, wild whiskers twitching as he began to paw at her fur and beg. "Moooooooommmmmmmmma, help me find my rock! Please? Please? Pleeeeeeeease?!"
"Is this a bad time?" Although his kits were only a few weeks old, Ratstar - and the rest of Summerclan, for that matter - had developed a...routine, of sorts, around his new children. That routine being; if warriors were avoiding the nursery as if a rabid fox were inside, that was usually when the Leader should pause whatever he was doing and go help his mate. Peaking his head through the curtain of lichen and moss that covered the entrance, he couldn't help but smirk at the sight of the kits overrunning a completely defeated Poppymask. They certainly didn't get this rambunctiousness from him, though that was a given.
Azaleakit, who had been munching on and playing with her flower crown, paused for a moment to glance at Poppymask when her name was said, but once her mother's attention was dragged away from her yet again, she continued on with her clawing of the flowers, this time seemingly with more energy. The rolling around she was doing was messing up her normally well-groomed pelt, and now the white fur was covered in specks of dirt. Definitely a far-cry away from Poppymask's ideal appearance, though the kit certainly didn't seem to care. Not when the flowery menace was still around.
"Ratstar, my momma won't let me do what I wanna." Before Poppymask could address her mate, their supposed father, Sunkit interjected herself between them and fixated a haughty look on the brown tabby. Behind closed doors she was normally all snuggled up to Ratstar and basking in the warmth of his unwavering adoration, but inside the nursery where they were surrounded by the "lesser" kits that did not have any ties to a clan figurehead, she addressed him coolly, substituting "Papi" for his full name. Only the coolest, more popular kits could get away with doing that, and Sunkit would make sure the whole nursery was aware of it.
Poppymask was two seconds away from pulling out paw-fulls of her own fur when Ratstar appeared. She let out a very audible sigh of relief, knowing that truly the only cat who half managed these little hellions was their father, and crawled toward him with her trademark dramatic flair, flat out ignoring all of the whining and crying, "Ratstar, baby, please do something about their manners. I work so hard with them but they just don't listen!"
Out of the corner of her eyes she saw that Azaleakit was chewing down on her beautiful flower crown and that certainly set her off, "No! Bad!" She lectured, flicking Azaleakit right on the nose, it was a painless but effective way to discipline a kit, at least, if you asked her, "Cats don't eat flowers unless Graythorn says so! Oh, Ratstar, please do-- NO! Weevilkit, OFF your brother! Both of you, sit up straight, if you behave I'll give you back your each your own scratching rock!"
A small squeak escaped Azaleakit as her mother flicked her nose, her eyes slowly filling with a small amount of tears from the action, though she quickly willed them back. She couldn't let Sunkit see her face, or she would never hear the end of that, whether or not she had actually meant to cry. The moment that Poppymask was distracted by Weevilkit again, she dashed to hide behind Ratstar, flower crown forgotten. "Momma flicked me!" she said, her voice taking on a tattling tone, despite the fact that the flick didn't even hurt.

"I just borrowed it. That's all." Molekit tried for the fifth time to roll out from underneath his brother, but since he kept trying it the same way, it was easy for even Weevilkit to predict. "Momma gets mad when I nick her with my claws while I eat and I needed to do somethin'. 'Sides, I put it back where I found it."
"No it's not!" Weevilkit interjected with a ear-splitting squeal, bounding off of his mother in a fit of anger and pinning Molekit to the ground again, just as his brother was starting to get back up. "I already looked where it's supposed to be, and it's not there! Mooooma! Paaaaaapa! He's lying! LYING!" So overwhelmed with emotion, the little fuzzball rolled off of his brother onto the dirt floor, wailing dramatically in a manner that greatly resembled his sisters.
Ratstar glanced between all of his kits, and let out a deep sigh, though still smiling fondly at his family. Pushing past the entrance to stand fully in the den, he stood up tall before pounding on the earth with his paw, the sound loud and sudden enough to immediately silence and grab the attention of all of his kits. "Alright, this is what we're gonna do 'ere," he meowed sternly but evenly. "Everybody get off o' the ground an' sit in front o' me, an' I'll explain a brand-new game for y'all to play. The winner will get a very special prize, but only if ya sit still an' listen to ma directions, okay?"

"Then someone moved it! I'm not lying." Molekit was usually too low key for his own good, but Weevilkit's tantrum was starting to wind him up. Even being thrown to the ground again, he flung himself back up as soon as Weevilkit was off of him. Tears pricked in the corner of Molekit's eyes as he ran up to his father. "I'm not lyin' Pa! I swear! I stopped doin' that when Ma said they weren't believable nuff!" Molekit's speech was so slow, he seemed to sniffle after every other word.
Ever so mischievous Sunkit forgot her complaints as she noticed a chance to stir up some entertainment between her bickering brothers, keen eyes holding untold secrets. "Hey bubbie," Molekit's fluffy sister purred, sidling up close to him and dropping her voice to a whisper. "Betcha bubs had it all 'long. We should get 'em, huh?" She nudged him and crouched down into her interpretation of a stalking pose, though it left much to be desired with her sloppy form that she promptly fell out of when Ratstar's paw thundered down next to her, Sunkit sprawled into a heap of cream fur. "But Papi," she groaned loudly, with no follow-up remark other than a huff.
Meanwhile, unknown to her brothers, the object of their argument was tucked under Sunkit's spot in the nest, covered by a couple strands of moss.

Molekit turned towards Sunkit, a surprised look on his face as he bit onto her words. Hook, Line and Sinker. "Yeah. Yeah!" His confidence in her words growing as he turned to Weevilkit. "What if you're just hiding it to make me look bad?"
A small frown formed on Azaleakit's face when Ratstar ignored her complaint, and she was left stumbling after his much larger strides. She had opened her mouth to say more, but held her tongue when Ratstar's paw slammed into the ground. She took one step out from behind the leader, but, upon seeing that no one else was actually listening to him and continued complaining, stopped. Instead, with her eyes slightly narrowed, she glanced between Molekit, Sunkit, and Weevilkit. Maybe if she stayed quiet while they kept arguing, her half-eaten flower crown would be forgotten.
